Yes I played with built in local 4 player multiplayer on xbox and gamecube. I also played many hours on xbox live meeting people I still play with almost 18 years later. I also played ps2 but mostly single player. The few online games I'd play like ffxi, we would still use xbox party chat to communicate. Ps2 is just vastly overrated when people says it's the best console ever.

Same, PS2 had tons of great games but only in spite of it's hardware. It limited developers so much by being the top console with it's underpowered hardware.

Yes, and more than just one. So we played Xbox and Gamecube because those platforms actually had more than a pathetic two (2) controller ports and games that took advantage of it.

That's infinitely more local multiplayer than the ps2 ever offered. Except for fighting games, I guess.
