I remember liking the original BG: Dark Alliance, the backtracking for potions could get annoying though progression felt great, good co-op; are the sequels and CoN games more of the same or do they mix it up?
Owen Cooper
Is it possible to emulate these games?
Hudson Morris
I have only played a bit of Dark Alliance 1, but I would say CoN is a more streamlined and improved-upon version of DA. It's got more spells, more weapons and armor, a more fleshed out level up system. DA seems to have better enemy AI and a slightly better story. I would definitely try to play CoN with a friend or 3 if you haven't already, it's probably my favourite game of all time.
I need to know: does DA2 provide an option for player markers? That is, coloured rings around the character to make it easier to see them in the throng of combat?

This is the best thread on Yea Forums right now and OP is based as fuck. I fucking loved these games. I've never heard of Justice League: Heroes before but I played through both CoN games with my brother, step dad, and mom. I miss the comfy couch co op with a ps2 multitap. Another game of note is Gauntlet Dark Legacy. Return to Arms really seemed like an objectively improved upon game from the first Norrath. Dark Alliance 2 I really only passively played, 1 was the one I played through the most
Joseph Collins
Played Champions of Norrath to death back when it was released. Lots of fun co-op runs with the girl I was dating at the time. Tried to get hyped for the sequel, but it just didn't grab me the same way.
I'd much rather see a well executed "spiritual successor" rather than a remaster
David King
Thank you, brother. I too used to play it with my sister and my cousin, it was one of the few games we could all sit down for, enjoy and do well at. Return to Arms is definitely an improvement in most ways but I still love the first one most because I have the most nostalgia for it. I'm currently playing through the first one as a ranger and intend to carry my character into RtA.
Still gotta get my hands on a copy of DA2. The only thing is my gf loses focus of where her character is if there aren't brightly coloured player markers.

Anyone else like to ignite barrels to make the coop partner dodge the explosions?
Jacob Ramirez
I usually like to miss them completely and one shot myself, forcing my coop partner to run for 5 minutes back to the save point
Luke Butler
>Letting your siblings/parents die and then pushing an ignite barrel to the save point, igniting it, then walking close enough for it to rez them into the explosion so they die again
Fuck, I'm guilty of this too. One of my friends got really pissed when I fucked around with the barrels. He didn't say anything but I saw him fuming. He never tried to do the same thing to me though.
Been wanting a port/remaster or even emulation of this. Up there with the best memories of gaming with friends of all time.
Lucas Parker
Don't ignite barrels destroy equipment on the ground too? If I remember correctly I blew up my step dads boots when someone was trading him an upgrade and he got super fucking pissed over it.
Levi Harris
I found a copy of BG:DA 2 for xbox last summer at a local game store and thankfully it's backwards compatible on the 360. Feels so good to play it again. Wish I could still play CoN though.
Mason Clark
Champions: RTA and SSX3 were always my two go-to games for sleepovers.
>Play RTA online for the first time >playing with some lady that sounds twice my age >she's using a Codebreaker >gives me a mace that attacks as fast as you can press the button >moved forward faster by attacking than running >also had a level -126 character >caused xp overflow >punched one enemy >instant max level for party members those were good times
Justin Anderson
Is it even possible for a remaster or more games to happen? Sony Online Entertainment is dead now.
Might have to go out and try to find a copy of Dark Alliance 2 today.
Adam Roberts
I think it does or it blows them every which way, sometimes to the netherrealm.
Juan Rogers
Well who owns the IP? They are Everquest IP's right? That would mean it would fall to Daybreak and I'd honestly prefer the games stay untouched if that is the case
David Cruz
Just have another developer offer to improve Daybreaks social credit score if they hand over the license at least.
Alexander Barnes
Too bad these are dead
Robert Jones
Champions was great despite the insane imbalance. I played hundreds of hours with my brother and cousin. They both played barbarians though, so it was mostly them one-shotting everything.
