A late game upgrade gives you the ability to travel from anywhere.
This way travelling far from a safe location in more dangerous areas might actually become a bit scary and might actually stress your resources some since they might beneeded when exploring unexplored territory that you can't just escape from.

I want Ganondorf to either screw up BotW's world to the point that it's interesting to explore again or something happens that brings Link to a new place like MM. I want more monsters, several actual dungeons, more music, and no more shrines, Beasts, or guardians. Also, put the guy in the bottom right of my pic into the game somewhere. If there are blood moons again, rework them to last longer in the night and be scarier and hard to survive. Since Ganondorf is awake now, maybe the monsters will be more aggressive.

Most important to me is adding some actual music to the game.
Companion Zelda and making her an actual character. Allow Link to bully her out in the world for cute reactions. Story set in the present instead of relegated to a bunch of flashbacks that doesn't matter because everything has already happened and everyone is dead. Some actual dungeons, some open world mini dungeons would also be fun.
I liked BOTW quite a lot, I'd love to see it have more of the classic Zelda structure though, dungeons and dungeon items in particular. I'm sure it would be a difficult design problem to solve but I hope they pull it off.
The idea to give you all necessary items from the start is good but you also lose out on discovering something really cool that you have to come back to later.
BotW 2 should start you out with the same kit as in BotW but then add new items to it that let you do more things.

Are you sure? Breath of the Wild had like the least handholding since the games went 3D. And considerably less than the last game, which has the most in the entire franchise.
The game was praised a ton for not being handholdy.
The game might end up having more handholding, but I certainly wouldn't count on it considering how much Breath of the Wild was praised for not having it.

I wish they had come up with utility items that weren't necessary but made the game more fun. Think like Revali's Gale but it's a dungeon item (or a new rune on your slate). Hell, even just making the champion abilities into the dungeon items explicitly (and requiring the use of em to complete some objective in the dungeon) might have been enough even though most of the champion abilities were pretty boring.
Just barely, she will make mention of it and have a new dress, but Link will have the option of saying she doesn't look any different. She will then give Zelda the aging rune for the Slate with advice to not point it at living creatures.
I want Paya's B and H to have increase by at least 5 centimeters.

Filler enemies. If you have this sandbox world where you can do all these things why is 70% what you fight meaningless. Up to MM enemies felt like they took advantage of your surroundings with BOTW this can be made into the greatest battling zelda game but no. Heres a enemy dies in 2 hits go on.

No more shrines, just dozens of hyrule castles with puzzles you can complete for different passages and loot.
Twilight princess swordplay with hidden tutors throughout the world who teach link new skills, would be a nice mix up for rewards for dungeons too. Instead of another heart can or stamina vessel it could be a scroll or something.
Bring back magic instead of timed spirit skills, spells could also be a dungeon reward

My biggest problem with 1 was level scaling. Ideally that shit would be gone but I know it'll never happen, they're intent on having "muh open world experience" and ruining it like that.
The best part of 1 was Hyrule Castle, because it wasn't scaled. It was dangerous from the start, if you went there early it was scary. I want more shit like that. Not everywhere in the world having Bokoblins of different colors that eventually end up wearing Glass and Daedric armor and weapons. That design pisses me off.
Also I hope they do something with the durability system, don't need to throw the whole thing out but it needs adjustments.

Zelda 2 has two Hyrules, West and East. East Hyrule is an island with three main palaces on it plus the Great Palace

More interesting runes and shrines that don't involve basic physics like I'm playing a source engine game mod, major dungeons and items, just more interesting set pieces and a lot less open space. I would prefer a smaller overworld so they used the space up properly but the main appeal of BotW is being able to climb over shit and go wherever you want mostly.
I would like BotW2 to dial things back a bit but I know it's just gonna be more of the same and probably bigger.
I'll end up getting it like everyone else and probably be bored of it in a week or two.

The one thing that kept me from liking this game was the absolute lack of actual temples. I don't mind open world as long as what I find is worth it. Shrines felt lackluster. I would have liked it more if you took all of the shrines and you pieced them together and themed them, and then have them completely hidden away then I would have loved that. So that's kind of what I want for the sequel. Also a hookshot or two, that would be nice

Why are "traditional" Zelda fans so insistent that BotW2 be weighed down by linear item based progression? Backtracking to dozens of locations around the map because you found iron boots would be a nightmare. It makes much more sense to leave the tutorial zone with all the runes/items/etc already.

because it would be progression by adding mechanics instead of stats. botws saving grace is having one tool for many jobs so they can kinda get away with it. but would it really have killed them to add a hookshot after whichever beast you beat first that attaches to wood just as an alternative. the current reward for beating dungeons is 3x parrying for retards, 3 moonjumps, a fairy and whatever the last one was. The moonjump is just a shortcut for climbing and the rest is limited combat skills
they do kinda get around it with some items like fire arrows for burning shit but you could've gotten a fire wand upgrade for your tablet too
fuck give it an upgrade to produce holographic arrows in case you ever ran out, it already creates bombs, magnets and ice, might aswell give some player upgrades and options
It was definetly the right decision to leave the plateu with all your tools but it also made the whole game very predictable. there is only so many ways you can make ice pop out

Dungeons are fundamentally antithetical to what BOTW even is and what made it work.
BOTW is not about being locked in one place. There's a reason the Divine Beasts move around and you can see the sky in them. The Divine beasts being disregarded as stand-ins for dungeons is also rediculous, as I believe they actually stand out as some of the best in the franchise history.
This isn't to say I wouldn't want "dungeons" to explore, be it larger Divine Beast-like structures, or places like Hyrule Castle. But to restrict the game by bringing back to the old archetypes and definitions of "dungeons" as if BOTW isn't adequately compensated is just wrong to me. It's not what BOTW needed, nor what was missing from the game.
BOTW correctly uses shrines as a solution to not only make up for the lack of traditional dungeons, but exceeding it in the amount of room-based puzzle solving present in the game. The shrines must be found, some even by puzzles and quests to even enter them, which compliments the concept of the open world BOTW is building. This is why I add to the dumbest anons awards for suggesting Shrines be removed like that. How fucking absurd, to actually want an open world to be barren because you have nostalgia for dungeons being in set locations with a few more rooms than shrines do.
Also bonus retard points for the Hookshot suggestion, with is another 100% nostalgia based suggestion that will add literally nothing to the gameplay due to the mechanics already present in the game and the fact that traversing the land is about vertical movement and usually not moving from angled platforms, and there is not a single arguement to be made against that that isnt just a subjective nostalgic preference for the Hookshot over the games alternative of Revali's Gale that wouldn't also prove the Hookshot detrimental to the gameplay of BOTW.
