Reminder that Black eagles is objectively the worst house. Even as far as house leader goes, Edelgard is the worst of the 3. The only character who isn't total shit is Lindhardt and even then, he is objectively the worst HEALER of the 3 main healers in the game.
Dorothea is objectively the worst mage and does not excel at anything else >inb4 muh hexblade. It still doesn't make her outshine everyone else. Hubert has the worst ammo reserve in the game so he's only useful in short missions. He eats through his magic reserves and dark bishop is objectively a bad class. Ferdinand only shines as a tank, which are the worst classes in the game and completely useless (they seriously do more harm than good) Bernadetta is the worst archer. Petra is absolutely meh. Caspar is the worst fighter

Hubert and Bernadetta actually kicked ass in my BE run, they always saved the day. Hubert shoved Mire up any poor soul's ass that dared approach him, and Bernadetta one-shotted everyone who came near her. I only ever recruited Shamir and Raphael because Raphael is cute.

It doesn't matter,Lysithea and Manuela learn warp as well. The only thing that matters for healers is the spell list. Lindhardt does not learn fortify which makes him objectively the worst healer.

Meteor doesn't have enough charges to make a difference and Thoron isn't anything special, you get no positive tradeof to Lysithea's ridiculously huge spellbook or Annette's high crits. And if you like meteor so much, Hanneman gets it and he is more powerful than Dorothea.
If you play BE, you'll absolutely notice how healing becomes a major chore, since you know, their healer can only heal 1 character per turn.

Dorothea is a perfectly fine mage that can excel at reason and faith, has access to gremory, and has Thoron, Meteor, AND Physic. Generally good at very long range which is a nice niche to keep her away from harm, high charm for strong gambits too.
Tanks are absolutely great and essential too, Ferdinand just isn't good at being one in particular (personality/design-wise one of the best characters in the game though). He's no Dedue, honestly he might be better with the gimmick of dancer with his generally bad stats + using a sword because he excels in it and equip the sword avoid skill to stack with his personal skill boosting avoid. Stack that with flying for Alert Stance and he can make for a dodgetank instead.
Blue Lions and Golden Deer are way stronger houses overall though.

The only trip-up with Fern and Edelgard as tanks is the fire at the very last map. If they're not facetanking virtually everything for single digit damage for you, you're either getting fucked on growths or you didn't distribute your growth items properly. Remember to go big or go home with tanks.
And to be fair, that archer webm is the very first mission for the timeskip, where El just got her armor (assuming you weren't already building her for def).

He gets Warp, the best spell in the game. Lysithea is better on offense than as a healer (although should still carry Warp because it's that good), so best healer comes down to him or Manuella.

Extra range by default compensates for this.

Crazy speed, makes a great Falcon or Wyvern, although Leonie is basically just a better version of her.
