>Can finally play with my console bros on PC
>See a beautiful lobby with every platform represented
This is so comfy. Is this the first AAA game to do it? I can't believe it's taken this long. Usually it's only PS4 and PC or Xbox and PC
Can finally play with my console bros on PC

It only lasts for a few matches. When you've played a few matches the skill based matchmaking kicks in with M&K and controller being separated. If you've had a few shit games you get knocked down into the controller lobbies but one match later you're back up into the M&K lobbies
MK and Controllers are already separated. You can't use MK against controller

Quake III Arena on the Dreamcast let you play cross platform with Dreamcast, PC, Linux, and Mac players in the same server.
It's also still online to this day, as an aside.
CoD is a console eSport. It used to be PC until mw2
Shit that's cool. Dreamcast ans Saturn were ahead of their time
>90% of the time im matched against PC players on PC
looks like consolesbabbies dont like being stomped
What? I play with pcbros 98% of the times. I doubt I've see Xbox at all.
I'm always in mixed lobbies using a controller. Also my progress and Loadouts shared between pc and ps4
If you're using a mouse you won't be matched
yes you can be matched
I never knew this, thanks for the daily knowledge, also what about custom maps? or the dreamcast is pure pk3 locked?
not in the beta
It's opt in on their end basically for mouse. Crossplay is on by default though. If someone on console wants to play with a PC user with a mouse they will mix controller and mouse gamespot.com
You say that as if it's never been done before or something.
With all consoles and PC in the same lobby? I'm not sure it has this gen. It's always pc and 1 console not all of them
fortnite has every console including switch and phones in one lobby
Dreamcast is pk3 locked. It can do server side mods though, so you can get stuff like grappling hooks and some (very) light game mode changes, or stuff like instagib. I don't know if id is still running the original Heartbeat server, but if I remember right you can use a GameShark to change which Heartbeat server the game uses for its server browser (there are homebrew ones online). Worst case scenario you can always manually input a server's IP and connect that way.
The only major downside to the DC version is it has a max of 4 players per match. Also, since it only has 16MB of RAM not all of the PC maps made it, but it had a bunch of exclusive maps that later got ported to the PC as part of the Team Arena expansion. The 4 player limit keeps the framerate rock solid though. Unreal Tournament on the DC could do 8 players online, but when a lot of stuff was going on onscreen it would turn into a slideshow.
To play Dreamcast Quake III now you have to download the old 1.16 Point Release for Q3 as well as the Dreamcast Map Pack. With that you'll be able to connect to Dreamcast servers from your PC, and with a few cfg changes you can even host your own if you want.
Back during the old SegaNet days it was a blast playing online, but the LPBs who had a BBA and a Dreamcast Keyboard and Mouse would dunk all over the players who were on a 56k modem and using a controller. There was no console auto aim or anything, it was pure skill. I used to stick to controller only Dreamcast servers because a PC player with a broadband connection, KBAM, and a higher framerate had a significant advantage.
yes you can retard the game even supports plugging a mouse and keyboard into your console
>use controller matchmaking on PC
>always the only PCfag
Honestly, it's pretty fun that you're basically getting 2 different experiences depending on your input. CoD with KBM is a lot more twitchy, while on pad it's kind of relaxing.
Imagine playing CoD in 2019
I can. What about it?
>See a beautiful lobby with every platform represented
Literally never happens, I've seen xbone players join a lobby, see the amount of PC icons and instantly leave. Every time.
