This image (fake) got me thinking. What games SHOULD be on a N64 mini? 12 is probably a reasonable bet, maybe they'll stretch to 16 with how cheap memory is.

>12 Games you think WILL be there
And
>Games you WANT

Will probably have:
>Mario 64
>Mario Tennis
>Smash bros
>Mario Kart
>Donkey Kong 64
>Star Fox 64
>Kirby crystal shards
>1080 snowboarding
>a Mario Party
>Pokemon Stadium 2, probably since it has both gens. Maybe Pokemon Snap
>LoZ Ocarina of Time?
That leaves 1 for a random game like Quest 64 or Yoshi's Story or a region lock game.

Want (replace the 12th spot and/or pokemon stadium)
>obviously, Banjo, but who knows with Microsoft
>DOOM 64, but muh PEGI/ESRB, nintendo wants it friendly im sure
>Star Wars Rogue Squadron or Podracer, or even Shadows of the Empire. Still on Steam
>Perfect Dark, see Banjo
>Goldeneye, near unobtanium license hell
>Tony Hawk Pro Skater, see Goldeneye

I wonder if they'd do an option to run them in OG resolution or let you go to 1080p.

Just put dk 64, banjo Kazooie/tooie, and Conker on the thing and you got my money

I'd love Conker but im betting the max rated game will be T unless Nintendo is smart enough to realize the average buyer is in their mid-late 20s to early 30s

Selling a N64 mini without Goldeneye is like selling a PS1 mini without FFVII.
Entirely unacceptable.

Well, Conker’s bad fur day is included in rare replay alongside kid friendly games dispite the fact that is an M rated game

Touche

I dont entirely disagree but you're talking about a game with a very convoluted licensing chain

There's only like ten good N64 games and six of those are probably way too tied up in legal hell to ever see a rerelease on a system like this

Well probably the best ones? The ones with mario in the title, 64/ kart (I prefered diddy kong racing desu) / party / Paper / etc
Then Smash has to be in
Both Zeldas, both Banjos, Some Star Wars.
The icons: perfect Dark, Golden Eye and Star Fox
Maybe Pokemon Stadium (would be neat it had the gameboy games free in it as well but unlikely)
Shit I'd personally want is Conkers bad fur day, and Pokemon Snap (Fuck you, I liked it) and Snowboard Kids.

Bonus points if they add online multiplayer for the multiplayer games.

the N64 is a worthless paper weight without Rare games

Why shouldn't they have all the games?

>Jet
>Force
>Gemini

Oh i forgot paper mario. Thats almost certainly on, better than quest 64 imo for the rpg fix

Probably the same reason the PS1 classic and SNES mini didnt have literally all their games. but the smart thing is adding your own later

Nintendo has enough of their own stuff to have a decent roster covering different game genres, its certainly lacking in FPS unless they get like DOOM. But GoldenEye is almost certainly unobtanium unless Nintendo buys MGM and Rare

Could this spark some interest? The previous ones were kinda useless, but people constantly bitch about N64 emulation.

Thats what Im interested in, if its a quality emu machine for n64. Then
add whatever n64 rom you want

Your genuinely retarded thinking f-zero x wouldnt be on there

>ctrl + f "body harvest"
>phrase not found

n64 emulation fucking blows so I hope this happens

N64 emulation isn't bad at all. They probably bitch about it because one of the emulators had literal adware built the installer.

I doubt they add any third party games since they are pumping those money deals into the NES and SNES online games.
Id say they go
Mario Party 2
Mario 64
Mario Kart 64
Paper Mario
Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask
Smash Bros
Star Fox 64
Yoshi's Story
Kirby & The Crystal Shards
Pokemon Stadium
F-Zero X

Conker and Banjo would be goat but I doubt it's happening, they had the perfect chance to port them with their Smash release and didn't happen

Tonic trouble please

none because the n64 had a poor library where half the relevant games are from rare

That's exactly why this won't happen until at least 3 or 4 years from now when $10 ARM SoCs can pull it off. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a GameCube mini before it.

only 12?

I don't know if I would get one, but I would love to see Rayman 2 on it if it happened

this, there's no way id get it without goldeneye
me any my bro played the fuck out of it

Attached: nintendos pass thru everything.jpg (981x670, 78K)

My wants outside of the obvious first party games:

Battle Tanks Global Assault
Extreme-G 2
Bomberman 64
Gauntlet Legends
Glover (because I'm a sadist)

Pokemon snap was great. Nintendo really fucked up not making a sequel for the Wii-U.

You left out the one of the best games ever made, it would be amazing if they fixed the broken geometry of the elbows. If they still have the code they could just port all these games and make it a closed piracy free system without dodgy emulation.

Attached: wave-race-64-TEST.jpg (700x476, 90K)

Only good option for the controller, less plastic, less confusion for the boomer.

Attached: retro-bit-tribute-64-controller-vs-n64-hori-mini-pad.jpg (720x540, 45K)

So a laptop?

NES had like 30, SNES had like 2, so 12 seemed a conservative number.

GameCube mini would be great to play Luigis Mansion at 1080p

>Bomberman 64
Oh yeah i forgot that, it was great
>Glover
An interesting niche choice, but i can see how nintendo may want a weird one in there

If they go for 15-20 games i'd definitely add Wave Racdm

>boomers who played n64 who are the main buyer
>confused
Wut, why would the people who grew up with that gen be confused. Right hand on right arm, left hand on middle, unless its a puzzle game. The plastic is a point, or even just ergos, but im sure Nintendo has juggled the idea of updated vs og controls

Because this.

Attached: n64-controller-wrong-hold.jpg (720x540, 117K)

Leaving out one of the most amazing games wouldn't be a good strategy.

Attached: 40362-Wave_Race_64_(Europe)_(En,De)-5.jpg (640x480, 81K)

It’s a Microsoft game. I doubt Nintendo would risk a little kid accidentally clicking on it

it needs conkers purely for the great multiplayer

>N64 emulation isn't bad at all.
You literally can’t play 90% of the N64 library that doesn’t have “Mario” or “Zelda” in the title without some game-breaking bugs or graphical issues. N64 emulation is a joke, and the only people who say otherwise are the idiots who only play SM64.

I don't understand why these things only come with so few games... it should have 100, not hard to achieve.

Even the most obscure dog shit stuff from the N64 games.

this. dk64 is fucking impossible to run on any n64 emulator without major issues

Bomberman
Mystical Ninja starring Goemon
Blast Corps

Attached: N64 classic mini.jpg (654x842, 509K)

Mupen64 runs dk64 well. Do you use retroarch to emulate?
Talk about exaggeration. Yes there are some games that don't run but you can play most of the library with few issues. I know some games won't boot up at all but I also know that those games are shovelware. Also you just need to change plugins most of the time to get a game to work, but it works.

Here's your MK64 bro

youtube.com/watch?v=_rbTbt8GxQ8

Oops meant to reply to you.

Let's keep it at a realistic 12 games.

>Pilotwings 64
>Mario 64
>1080° Snowboarding
>Mario Kart 64
>Mario Party
>Ocarina of Time
>Star Fox 64
>Yoshi's Story
>F-Zero X
>Wave race 64
>Excitebike 64
>Tetrisphere

I don't think Nintendo is going to add many "long" 64 games to a compilation like this.

You’ll get all of that minus the rare shit. I could actually see Nintendo putting stadium 1 in over 2 too. Seems exactly the kind of retarded shit they’d do

They might toss in Majora's Mask too.

Ura Zelda/Ocarina of Time beta
At least one other 64DD game

I've thought about getting one of those. Are they actually high quality?

I'd be happy with this for around fifty bucks. Since it'll be eighty to a hundred they better up the ante.

If they put Mario 64, OoT, Majora's Mask, Mischief Makers, Sin and Punishment, Banjo Kazooie, DK 64, Smash Bros, Kirby 64, and Bomberman 64 at least, then I'd be happy.

rare shit is coming my dude

>Smash Bros
>Ocarina off Time
>Mario 64
>Star Fox 64
>Kirby
>Mystical Ninja
>Banjo Kazooie
>Goldeneye
>Pokémon Snap
>Bomberman 64
>Podracer
>Paper Mario
Would be the perfect lineup for me

hmm..

Hybrid Heaven
The Robot VN game
Body Harvest

Why even do Mini 64 if you are just let it going to be first party games that can just be emulated?

Attached: N64_controller_iQue.png (1214x1024, 1.16M)

Ive never seen anyone hold it that way in a game especialjy since most games require Z and many dont use the L trigger or dpad. The trident was designed for 3 methods of holding:
>center/right (default)
>left/right
>left/center

Anyone holding it as pictured is dumber than the kids who had them at 5 years old, or arent playing a game thats instructions are clear as to the controls

If this isn’t on it what’s the point?

I have one of these and it's great, but my RGB modded N64 through OSSC still looks like putrid anus on my modern TV. A properly supported N64 emulator made by Nintendo with HDMI out would be nice, especially if more ROMs could be injected into the N64 mini.

Glover is a shoo-in if they want non-Nintendo games, they are re-releasing it on modern systems alongside the sequel and Piko is even willing to license it for free

Also

Attached: B510FCB1-0DED-47F3-8A4C-98A901E5B0F1.jpg (640x468, 70K)

I really loved it at the time. I wonder if I'd hate it today because it is essentially "auto scroller- the game" having you Slowly repeat levels to get the best shots.

I would unironically be happy if they added ||Castlevania 64||

>RGB modded N64 through OSSC still looks like putrid anus on my modern TV
thats why you hmdi mod
still, i doubt an official n64 emulator would remove both blurs. especially considering you need to patch roms for it

>bought an everdrive last november

eat my ass, scalpers

Eh people always say "emulation isn't bad" and have no idea what they're talking about, because they've seen some game run for 5 mins on youtube.
>games that have mario in the title:
youtu.be/wawXO1cKaMA?t=489
Mario 64 on Wii Virtual Console (in-house emulator) has a bug that has platforms very slowly continue to rise if you leeave the game running for example.
Some weeks ago some faggots on Kohlchan claimed that in a year switch emulation will run on every cheap chinese tablet which of course it will not.
It's one of these things where people think they know something about it, but they actually don't.

In a perfect world, they just add every single N64 game. No reason not to, it has enough space. But of course licenses and assholes prevents that.

They are fine but
>Hori

Yeah that shit ain't gonna be cheap

they are very good quality, but they're expensive. You can get a retrobit tribute 64 which is lower quality but a fair price
