Maybe I’m watching too much anime but that seemed self evident since Yoseph made a point of mentioning they worked together until she mysteriously vanished, her hatred of him and the info she had on him, and that he was evil.

So this is probably common knowledge but I just found this out so this is for any dumbasses like me.
The effect spread ability affects all of the abilities that the legion has. So if one ability has effect spread and you put an auto heal ability on that legion as well the autoheal will activate even without your legion being out.
Again I’m sure this was known but it was new to me so thought I’d share

I didn't know that the first few abilities I had with effect spread on them, until I got an effect spread with nothing attached to it.

Nintendo didn't pay Platinum to make Astral Chain, they just gave them money and told them to make an exclusive action game.
I don't think this effects the chances of there being a sequel, i just felt like nitpicking.

Platinum didn't make plans for AC and then present them to Nintendo asking for money.
Nintendo just gave them money to make a game, and the game they decided to make eventually became Astral Chain.

They had enough control to nix the fantasy angle platinum was going with in favour of the cyberpunk dystopia

Air combos, glass cannon, maybe gliding or a similar function to Arm Legion, but with more flight and less hovering/super armor. Probably cut because air play is janky and they didn't want to highlight it or try to fix it.

Money on you using it like a whip for some sync attacks, maybe using it for a vertical swinging/climbing mechanic that I imagine was scrapped for being too similar to chain jumping, and with it, Wyrm legion itself was also out.

Probably would've had heavy duty offense. Maybe at some point Axe legion was specifically for shieldbreaking and defense, leaving offense here? Either way, definitely scrapped for redundancy next to Arm legion and/or Axe legion. L ability is throwing you into shit, no question.

Hard to say. I want to think it buffs you, but isn't that a bit uninteractive? Possibly used for beam/projectile reflection puzzles with its shield/L ability. Probably cut for, as I said, not being interactive enough.

Might've been considered as a shield manipulator, breaking and creating. Definitely more thematically appropriate than """Axe""" legion, what with all that stabbing (AXES ARE NOT FOR STABBING), and it having a physical shield. Maybe a mainly defensive legion was deemed unfun, and its defensive abilities were rolled in with Axe's offense.

I like Beast but it's a QOL nightmare, the hidden items thing especially holy fuck. Why is Platinum so obsessed with that shit. If they did like you suggested and let you do those things while riding it wouldn't be such an issue.

They are all fairly simple except for file 11. Tell me which ones you are missing and i'll tel you how to get them.
File 11 requires you to leave the gang leader on the astral plane in the final Carlos mission in file 10.

I'd personally enjoy the Astral Plane actually getting visible cues that it's taking stuff from the Earth into it, make it less red and have some fucked up upside down waterfalls and trees everywhere.

I think you just need to reset the game every now and then. I got hit with this in File 6 and I hadnt closed the game since starting, just sleep mode. I also fell into the void in file 10 after trying to go back into Hal's place after exploring outside a little, same issue with not closing the game since the F6 reset. Autosaves make this not terrible but still its something that shouldnt really happen to start with.

How did Jena not Chimera if she was stuck for 20 years? How did she figure out how to make homunculus if she was stuck there with no scientific equipment and only stole some shit when she came back? How did she figure out the Astral Plane was just "archiving" humans anyway? She probably saw humans turning into the Astral Plane and/or chimeras but it's quite a leap of logic to think the Astral Plane is "reprogramming" the world and not just consuming it from that information alone. I have so many questions.

Is there a way to choose your skin's RGB values manually? I unlocked that for my hair and clothes but not eyes/skin color. Someone just spoil me on what challenge it's attached to.

I could have sworn I got an unlock for skin or eyes from one of the files after the hair unlock but when I went to check I had no option to use RGB.

Sorry, but the expanded pre-set colors are all you get. No RBG values for eyes or skin.

I think it's Jena - rebellion & salvation.

She attacked the ARI to get legion cores, which she needed to produce homunculi.
The first homunculi were field tests, the final ones were used to pull neuron forces away from Yoseph.
She viewed Yoseph as a more immediate threat than the astral plane, so killing him took priority.
Her plan for stopping the astral plane was never explained, but considering that she was producing monsters that eat chimeras and astral matter, it's safe to assume that her plan was to make monsters that eat chimeras and astral matter.

alright anons, how do you think some of the other legions would've handled? How would they play and what would their gimmick ability be?

The support legion would be a neat way of playing. Focus on the player's attacks while support buffs you or even grants you & itself a brief window of invincibility

Shell legion would have transferred its armor to you.

Wing Legion would be able to chain bind flying enemies. God knows I needed that

user... That only happens if you say you can't do it. It's because the legions are implied to inherent the personality of their original owners, so the Arrow Legion (with Akira's personality) does it when you can't. Saying you can do it has the Axe legion (with Max's personality) help you.

I'm guessing outside of battle, it's ability would be being able to move vertically without needing help of the landscape.

Astral Chain was in early development as a sword/magic game set in medieval Europe, before Nier Automata. Nintendo approached them and liked what they had, but wanted something flashier and cooler as a new IP for the Switch, and they decided together on a sci-fi style.

Originally the game was going to be less action-focused and have a large variety of Legions/Chimeras which could be captured, but this was cut to 5 legions with a focus on polish and difficult action gameplay.

Personally I like the more "clean cut" variation we got in the end.
Those give off the more cop who doesn't play by the rules vibe which as nice as it is, wouldn't really fit how you start out at least.

If you do old cases from your NEURON computer, will doing them reset your story progress to the end of those cases? Like say, I’m in File 6, but I want to try to do better in File 2, will choosing to do that chapter send me to the beginning of File 3 after I complete it or will I stay in File 6 albeit with whatever duty points and money I got from my File 2 excursion?

So do you get S rank in those sections by tying up all the guards?

After you finish file 2 and go to the file results screen, you'll be able to file select files 1-5, or back out to where you are now in file 6.

My only complaint with Beast Legion was that it was too damn easy to fall off of shit in the Astral Plane whilst riding it. I love that you could GO FAST while riding it, but if you're at a precipice and you push backwards on the control stick, THE FUCKING LEGION STEPS FORWARD BEFORE TURNING AROUND, INSTEAD OF STEPPING BACKWARDS.

I like the early concept design, but I have to agree. The final version is also more in line with the twins being rookies.

And honestly, that's a bottle of short-acting, side-effect-free, performance enhancing drugs for what, a few bucks? I imagine there are drinks within a more consumer-friendly budget and set of needs (such as "I want to stop being thirsty").

The file select is always consistent; when you finish an old file you return to file select and can either choose to return to your current case or go back to another completed one.
You do have your legion "out". I think anytime the meter is draining is a period when legion stat boosts apply.

So now that im beat chapter 8, i definitely have issues with the reusing of areas thats starting to present itself.

I dont think this game should have been openworld, but would have certainly benefited from a travel option like persona or something.

Where you can travel to all the areas and regions you go thru as you progress thru the game and find new areas and new missions while going to new locations as you progress thru the normal game.

Chapter 8 also wasnt as bad as majority of you made it out to be you ADHD Autist.
There are plenty of fights and action in chapter 8, but most of the missions are clean up duty.

Half the chapter is chimera beat downs and the other half is doing easy, quick ass side missions.

I imagine that it would mostly be used for support and its ability would be attaching itself to the player character's left arm, giving them a new moveset which involves using the shield and the baton. I know there's a Legion that that already uses a shield but I imagine that the Shield Legion would be a more portable version of the Axe Legion that would have a focus on buffing the player instead of being used for combat.

I've noticed that a lot of the random citizen names you can see in the IRIS are culturally jumbled. Aside from all the half-Japanese names, I saw someone with a Chinese-sounding first name and a Hispanic last name in Zone 09. Considering the game takes place in the 2070s and the circumstances, I guess cultural borders have kind of dissolved.

There's like a 13 year age difference between her and the Howard twins so she could actually be dating the Male MC and even give birth to his kids.

I prefer switching between Sword and Arrow for normal circumstances, but tend to send out Arm for bosses and gorilla-types.

It's extremely versatile, strong as fuck, armor form is sick as hell and has a great dodge, parries and sync attacks are bonkers, yeah it's pretty good. Stack some crit mods and use Armor Form to fist anything up the ass so hard they melt.

Axe and Arm. Big, slow, and powerful niggas but are surprisingly versatile. Crash Bomb/all the bombs in Axe's combos and Arm's long range attacks are great additions to their great melee options.

>beast legion is the same as arrow only its even worse to move than arrow legion thanks to being ground and its gimmick skills are some of the worst shit in the game

this shit is why i'm into artbooks. if you're not getting panty shots that you wouldn't otherwise be able to view in-game, you'd be looking at "nude" but nipple-less sketches of characters. bonus points for at least a hint of a nipple. closes thing we get to official nude art.

I forget field items exist as I typically don't use items in action games because they always punish you for it.

W101 only sold 6k during its opening week in Japan, AC sold 40k retail and we don't have any info about digital other than "digital codes flying off" and the existence of the vouchers.

Also, W101 sold only 60K worldwide after two months, AC sold 80% of that in japan alone during its first week and that is just the retail version. So yeah, AC sold much more than W101.

Astral Chain is still selling well according to the american eshop.
