Yeah, normally I hate pet/summoner/companion builds (and doubly so in other roguelikes) but in Qud they're fun, especially since you can give your companions equipment and allocate their stats for them. It's really fun if you can snag a good legendary early.
One of my favourite discoveries was when I ran into a legendary one of those tribal robots that I didn't want to kill, since I like having decent rep with robots. True Kin get a 'rebuke robot' ability that I'd never bothered to try and use before, turns out it's like proselytize but for robots, where they "remember you as their true master" and start fighting alongside you. So you can get those robots to slaughter their own worshippers for you.
