Is Shadow Tactics worth trying if I disliked Commandos?

>besides length
What do you mean? Was it too long or too short?
>Find one flaw
Also, lack of enemy variety. All you had were riflemen, strawhats and samurais.

Is the flaw that it's too long or too short?

No.
>Flaw
The mission where you aren't supposed to kill the Shogun's men.

Not enough porn

Few enemy types can be a good thing. Challenge comes from different combination of enemies, instead

>The mission where you aren't supposed to kill the Shogun's men
Why would that be a flaw? The mission constraints force you to change up the pace if you've been too reliant on killing guards.

Game doesn't really give a shit if you kill civilians despite them being counted different from enemies.

>Few enemy types can be a good thing
Still, I feel they could've added another one or two types of enemies. Maybe dogs and mounted samurai.

Yeah, maybe.
I would also love to play that cancelled cyberpunk/futuristic DLC on the moon

>that cancelled cyberpunk/futuristic DLC on the moon
Excuse me but what?

I am not sure if I miss the equipment from Commandos 2-3 or is the fixed character abilities better for the gameplay.

Maybe, it's a streamlined, in a good way, Commandos game, controls are better and the gameplay doesn't feel as rigid.

>too few enemy types
>everyone uses guns

Coming from Desperados, I also dislike the infinite reinforcements and the lack of hit points system, but I guess those can be justified

yes. I never actually finished one of the Commandos games but played Shadow Tactics on hardest difficulty on the first playthrough and enjoyed every second.

Would be nice to make a tier list of all commando-like games. There isn't much of them:
>three Commndos games
>three Desperados games (fourth in the making)
>Shadow Tactic
>Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood
>Chicago 1930
I would have to replay most of the games to come up with a valid criticism. Plus I have never played any Desperados game. But what is your opinion?

+1

I'm playing this right now. It was the cheapest PS4 game in the store. I'm really enjoying it as a commandos fan, even though streamlining is never good IMO.

Might also add Star Trek: Away Team.

This game is godly

But it's only flaw is that it ends too soon.
I can't fucking wait for the next Desperados, the same team is making it.

>I can't fucking wait for the next Desperados
My excitement was really neutered by the addition of that voodoo lady:
>youtube.com/watch?v=nGJI-HEoCTc
Sure, Desperados' last level was campy af with a secret cave base filled with flamethrowers, poison darts or whatever but you never had outright supernatural shit like this:

Well I hope she can only use that overpowered-looking shit a limited number of times.

There's also Evil Islands, it's more of a Commandos-RPG hybrid, but it's great.

>a limited number of times
If I recall correctly, she loses a third of her health every time she tries that voodoo stuff. They'll probably balance it out with limiting the number of healing items. In any case, I'll just pretend her retarded abilities don't exist whenever I can, so she'll mostly be there for distraction (with her cat), knocking out enemies and dumping them somewhere.

Alright, sounds okay. Still can't wait for the game, we need more games like these.

>we need more games like these
Yeah, you can't be too picky with RTS games these days.

So what is your favorite character of respective commandos-like games/series?
>Commandos
Sniper
>Desperados
Haven't played
>Shadow Tactics
Mugen
>Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood
Will Scarlet

>So what is your favorite character of respective commandos-like games/series?
>Commandos
torn between Diver and Spy
>Desperados
torn between McCoy and Sanchez
>Shadow Tactics
Yuki by a looooong shot

the only good Commandos game is 2, 1 was interesting for its time but has aged horribly, 3 was a massive disappointment

the only good Desperados game is the first one, 2 and Helldorado are these weird 3d abominations that absolutely do not work, at least the new one (which is the fourth one but is called Desperados 3) looks pretty good

>Commandos
Uh... I actually didn't play Commandos.
>Desperados
John Cooper, simply because of versatility.
>Shadow Tactics
Yuki - the mission in the rice fields where I got to kill 95% of the enemies with her with Takuma assisting while fulfilling all conditions for badges (like not climbing ladders or releasing Mugen after the prisoners) was the most fun I had the year I played it.
>Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood
Will Scarlet or Little Jon, mostly because they can knock out people easily and I like pacifist runs.

>Yuki
My brother of African descent!

are you retarded?

No.
