DATA-BASE
DATA-BASE
LIVIN IN THE DATA-BASE
WOOHOO

If you checked the VR library you'd know that fucking nothing is being made for it. Game development has obviously gone down the shitter, there's no one creative and ambitious to make anything truly interesting and fresh anymore.

cuz vr is a cancer on gaming at the moment? give it 20 years and then you'll have actually decent vr, and it might have a good mmo.

Current vr is ass

Data-based

Has there ever been an anime series where less happened?

RE7 happened and that was great in VR, with the only problem being that it was tied to PS4. It's completely possible for good things to be made for current VR, but it's not happening because the talent isn't there.

console/phone vr*

I think Sony has really fucked the VR development

> Create a mediocre VR headset
> Buy the license for all the good upcoming VR games
> Industry dies because it has no reach

Yea Forums likes furfags now

Well there's Orbus.

They tried, closest thing right now is Nostoss, and it's pretty bad atm. The technology just isnt there yet

Facebook has been no better for it. At least Sony funded a couple real games for VR.

Like I mentioned before, the talent isn't there. The inability of marketing teams to properly gauge the success of VR with people is also part of this lack of talent. Do they really fucking think it wouldn't be worth investing money into bigger budget VR titles? You'd make that money back, you morons. People WANT to play big budget VR titles. Stop being culturally clueless and get with the damn program already.

Why the fuck would an MMO for VR even be in development OP c'mon you can be that dumb. The first good VR game is at least 10 years out

I want SAOfags to go and stay go.

Not SAO retard

>implying any isekai is less shit than the others

honestly what series do ya'll enjoy more? SAO or Log

why hasnt anyone made a Log Horizon video game yet? Theres like 10 SAO games and even two KonoSuba games

>First person MMO
Okay so I guess you'll need to track player arm movement and either have special moves mapped to arm inputs or use some shitty speech recognition software to have them use special moves or have special moves mapped to finger movements(limiting it to Vive only).
Since you can't have the lag be horrible while doing that I guess that means low poly models and limiting the total number of players in one area at a time. Not much of an MMO but fine.
Now you need to load in super large areas for cities and stuff. So again they need to be low poly because the 4k requirements for vr.
Cool so you've done all of that and your userbase is like 5% of the 3% of the gaming population who play video games due to hardware requirements. If you're lucky you'll get 20% of that since the majority of gamers don't enjoy mmos. If you make it subscription based you'll get maybe 40% of that.
Seems like a great business model.

Just gotta wait until every PS# is shipped with a VR set.

nostos

youtube.com/watch?v=Jn16hBYiUkY

Not good enough. Microsoft and PC needs to have similar headsets so publishers can put their games on multiple platforms with ease, and all headsets need to have inside-out tracking to remove the need for external devices.

Log is pure comfy
I only watch SAO when I'm trying to bang an ethot

Attached: sword_art_online___alfheim_online___asuna_by_xeno_photography-d77y5ai.jpg (900x600, 89K)

Boneworks will provide devs a proper VR engine. Gabe will save VR.

Guardian, I'm a boring fuck.

>Okay so I guess you'll need to track player arm movement and either have special moves mapped to arm inputs or use some shitty speech recognition software to have them use special moves or have special moves mapped to finger movements(limiting it to Vive only).

VR controllers have buttons retard, how do you think skyrim vr works using spells and shit, OP posted an anime when they bring up menus to use spells so I don't see why that couldn't work

> Since you can't have the lag be horrible while doing that I guess that means low poly models and limiting the total number of players in one area at a time. Not much of an MMO but fine.

VR chat can have massive lobbies and layering and sharding is a thing, all mmos can run on absolute turds devices anyway.

>Cool so you've done all of that and your userbase is like 5% of the 3% of the gaming population who play video games due to hardware requirements. If you're lucky you'll get 20% of that since the majority of gamers don't enjoy mmos. If you make it subscription based you'll get maybe 40% of that.

People would buy the hardware if the game is good enough. besides even %1 of psvr owners is still 42000 player which is fine and healthy for an RPG world.

Attached: D8CRtMS_d.jpg (374x374, 14K)

Sorcerer
Guardian sounds a lot like Warrior in classic WoW where the only way to do well was having an all powerful guild who jerks you off and showers you in loot, and accompanies you with two dedicated healsluts in all pvp situations.

It's so good because it doesn't use the Haram trope and the anime is actually about the MMO

Not having a Scythe/caster class

Attached: ab14feba7f15996bab68854d9909de841560975837_full.jpg (640x360, 62K)

Scythe users is just the Assassin class with the Sorcerer subclass

>The wiki with the info about sample builds and skill is lost and I don't have the material with that
Guardian has three common builds: Mitigation with shield, Health absorption and skill spamming build.
Sorcerer has the turret build, short range and spellblade build
>Scythe
Assassin can specialize in heavy weapons, also bard can use them

dwarven summoner. i make my own iron golems mother******!

>or use some shitty speech recognition software to have them use special moves
Finally, an MMO with no BRs. I'd buy it instantly

Log Horizon. I like the political, economical, and sociological nature of the show and how it presents them through different characters or parties rather than focusing on one character or a cast that is always together.

I think the better question is why hasn't someone made a Log Horizon JRPG. A tabletop RPG already exists, so why not a turn based or FF12/Xenoblade style one based on tactical party usage and interaction between people of the land and adventurers?

Attached: 1550423762559.png (1500x1500, 3.38M)

Race Of Ritual Sorcerer with Scholar sub class. No defense, no HP, all MP, and Magic Attack. Much dying and zero real world memories inevitable

Just get a beefy tank bf to cover your ass

SAO has better MMO action and too much interpersonal drama. Log has dumb space alien bullshit that ruins the premise slightly.

Akatsuki is better than any of the trash girls in SAO except for LLENN and maybe yuuki.

This guy went to jail for tax fraud or something right? We are pretty much never ever getting anything more than the light novel at this point?

Half-Alv Enchanter with an Sigilmaker subclass. Assuming we're going by the rules of the LN/anime, where players are starting to learn how to create original abilities or use preset abiltities in new ways, I'd imagine I would be able to bind spells onto items, like making a Thorn Bind Hostage bomb that makes anyone caught in the blast wrapped in thorns. Or maybe if someone was able to make a gun, I could add a sigil to it to add the Abate Bullet spell so the bullets add defense down or something.

I've never played an anime isekai game, recommendations?

Season three never ever. Did the author at least come out of jail?

Sounds like Health Absorption'd be my thing, what does it entail?

The closest thing we're ever gonna get to a VR MMO is if some dev makes a MMO and decides to implement VR as a side project after the game is done. Making one from the ground up just for VR would be doomed to fail.

Spend a lot of time getting the specialized gear and the correct sub-job to make it work

>This guy went to jail for tax fraud or something right?
No. He just had misunderstood some tax laws and thought his company was handling the taxes for him. He was informed that he was wrong so he paid and went back to work no problem.

Reminder people only praised Log Horizon to spite SAO.

I'm gonna be honest, Beat Saber and Superhot are probably the closest you can get to perfection in VR games so everyone else gave up.

To further expand:

>To my readers and all concerned parties, The Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau notfied me about the investigation on my tax reports, and I cooperated with their investigation. I have filed and paid my back taxes and completed the necessary paperwork, and so the Bureau has concluded their investigation. I've since given this incident a great deal of thought, and will endeavor to avoid such an incident in future. I sincerely apologize for having troubled and worried my readers and all concerned parties.

>m2ladeJAM Ltd.
>Representative Director, Umezu Daisuke (Pen name: Mamae Touno)

SAO makes me want to kill myself and log horizon literally put me to sleep once. The best isekai is spirited away

He's hella humble and nice too, He had no idea about the taxes.

He didn't deserve it and we deserved more LH

Atleast it will go down in history and kino and won't be ruined like all long running animes

>there's no one creative and ambitious to make anything truly interesting and fresh anymore.
This is the case with basically anything that isn't coming out of japan desu

We are at a minimum decades away from VR mmos that resemble anything people dream about, at best it's a gimmick where you can look around with your head instead of turning a camera.

Theres OrbusVR
Its a thing. Its not a good thing but its a thing.

>Atleast it will go down in history and kino
Most people I know irl that talk about anime (the ones that only watch seasonals or popular stuff) all say that Log Horizon is boring and prefer stuff like SAO or that Slime anime.

>no log horizon game yet
wtf is wrong with this world

Just play the TRPG, it has a fan translation

There is a VR mmo called Orbus, have they given up on it?

where can i find it user?

What is missing then? Are devs just stuck in the realm of glorified tech demos? Why just beatsaber and super hot?

Low userbase along with no established formula so it's easy to fuck up.

No, tax evasion.

Region locked class, Hussar

Attached: regionalclasses.png (1549x390, 89K)

>isekai were meant to be self insert because everyone who actually enjoys video games has dreamed of living inside of a game world

I can accept the premise of people going into an RPG world but then the whole thing is just wish-fulfillment where there is little tension or real conflict in the plot at all. The main characters are just obscenely overpowered. There is no chance for there to be an interesting struggle or for tension to develop at all.

I've always wanted to do a story about some guy dying and going to a RPG world but being a huge asshole about it and expecting it to be just like his dreams. Stuff like yelling at the angel to bring out the character creator and then yelling to remove the height/age limits. Dumb shit that I would do. Then he just grinds in the starting area to level 99 and gropes NPCs for the rest of the story until he gets bored and fights the end game shit, which you could absolutely make tense.

Rising of the Shield Hero is the anti-thesis to that, at least for the first 4/5th of it so far. It's still kind of watered down compared to the manga though.

Where's this from?

It was redone in August into OrbusVR reborn.
It's still pretty basic graphically but it has some cool ideas, like the magic class where you have to draw out runes physically to use spells but don't need to worry about MP as a trade off.

Found it on the wiki, author had suggestion for classes in different game regions so I assume that's the results, web.archive.org/web/20140106042640/http://www.crunchyroll.co.uk/anime-news/2014/01/03-1/log-horizon-author-takes-suggestions-from-english-speaking-fans

No one is really willing to fund one.

You need some weeb billionaire to fund a VR MMO

Convince Notch to move to Japan instead of remaining a 24/7 NEET in his Hollywood mansion

>first episode has MC freaking out in fear
>second episode has MC looking for purpose
>third episode has MC walking around with a harem, completely changing the tone and purpose of the show
Yeah, fuck you too, Arifureta

I recommend reading Infinite Dendrogram light novel.

It's getting an anime adaption but it looks low budget, sadly.

>arifureta
>episode
user I...

We need a mad scientist who forgoes ethics and experiments on the human brain.

The antagonist of most MMOs ends up being some Corporation doing illegal experiments for example.

>reading
Sorry user. I'm not a fucking nerd.

I hope we get one eventually. I haven't really played any after quitting UO in 2006~, but I'd try a VR one.

>recommending actually good isekai
Don't do this

He didn't go to jail. He was given 10 months, but it was a suspended sentence. He has since paid the taxman and they have dropped the matter on their side, I think.

Looks like he's been wasting time writing up Log Horizon sidestory shit instead of churning out the main series. Book 10 in fall of 15, book 11 in spring 2018.

Rising of the sheild hero is the same as any other Isekai, OP main character, Haram, big bad save the world

Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash is the better de-construction of isekai

> Main characters expect fun mmo
> Get fucked up and die

>Grimgar
Doesn't the healer girl in that get banged in alley or something

Everyone you know is a low power level casual. Disregard filth user.

Like I said, Shield Hero is that thing for part of it, but then devolves into the same old shit which was disappointing.

Played it, very disappointing. It's like a board game disguised as a tabletop like 4e.

.hack, faggot. Fuck SAO and Log.

ok but .hack doesnt have a seasoned anime series

Which .hack games should I play?

These are the only ones worth playing.

Attached: image.jpg (1700x1199, 1.1M)

I bet you faggots don't like sao only because it's popular

God teir cover art

i personally like more popular anime, i just havent caught up since GGO

It doesn't matter if he did because (In Japan) tax evasion is worse than kiddy diddling so no one's gonna touch it with a 10 ft pole.

None of them, read the blackrose novel instead.

Summoner, Monk or Bard. Especially if it was an isekai scenario

I liked the first few chapters/first episode of SAO, until I realized it was just a power fantasy and the author didn't fucking play MMOs.
A solo player in a real MMO won't reach the fucking hack potential Kirito gained, A party will always clear things faster and more consistent and will shit on Kirito's levels faster. Also fuck special skills.

Book 11 was great. Would recommend reading.

It got my laid so I have fond memories
Didn't like it whenever it stepped away from the MMO story.

> Figuring out the world: fun
> Harem: Shit

Kono Sekai ga Game da to, Ore dake ga Shitte Iru is good too.

Translation is slow since the original translator is busy with life.

Someone should just license it someday

I actually recently watched all of the SAO except for Alicization as i was curious about shit after kinda fun Fatal Bullet.
Holy fuck what a wasted potential. Kirito while being mostly bearable in first half of first season, goes full retard mary sue by the end of it and all through the rest of series. Alfhelm shit feels incredibly tacked on and goes nowhere by the end losing what little identity it had. GGO ark is retarded and even more of a wasted potential than first season, fucking game made it look way better and made more fucking sense than anime did. The only good thing about the whole shitshow is GGO Alternative which was surprisingly fun and localized.

Because successfully doing so would destroy society. Imagine the millions of mediocre young guys just checking out to play not-SAO all day long.

Read Kuro no Maou

Fun fact, it is one of the oldest web novels

VR and AR video games will never be good. Technology seems atm like it has way too many I/O and space limitations to ever be good. The future (likely many hundreds of years from now) for these type of games will maybe have something like a dream-space where your consciousness gets sent to a constructed dream world. In that case perhaps even time limitations could be solved as well.

Werecat Summoner.

Depends on what kind of isekai you want though.

There's isekai like Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear.

You just seem unhappy because you are reading random isekai instead of isekai that caters to you.

Alicization is the best one actually.

Do you think the government would shut it down if people get beyond addicted to it?

People already die over holding in shit for too long with mmos

I just want a dystopian future with an underground VR mmo society

you're not going to get good VR games until full dive becomes reality
until then you're just strapping a monitor to your face and waving wiimotes around

No, I dislike it because I got baited by an MMORPG surival setting that switched to romance.

I heard Japan has pretty good VR Arcades but they will never be exported outside Japan.

Yea Forums basically wishes Seto Kaiba existed in real life.

Those were the days. Marmalade is a great guy and hangs out with some of the other big isekai/fantasyfags. I want him to come back into the fold. He deserves it.
It would suck for Log to disappear with time when trash isekai get carried by good ones all the time see: Quartet

His reputation has bee ruined though, nobody is going to offer him another anime season anymore and the popularity of his novels have dropped in Japan, probably also due to his prolonged hiatus.

I'm pretty sure there are already really basic forms of mind-controlled VR. It'll probably get there at some point, but I wouldn't expect it soon.

Current VR gen is nowhere near good enough to warrant an experience that would be worthy of a large scale MMO.

The most important thing to realize is that you can't think about VR MMOs having the same mechanics that exist in current MMOs.

For example, think about how you would interact with your inventory. In regular games, you open up a menu as if you were opening up a folder in your computer to grab a file. In VR that should not happen. The act of grabbing an item should ressemble the act of grabbing an item in reality. How should a sword hit work in VR? Should I just click a button while pointing at a monster and have it deal damage? Of course not that would be horrid. Should I swing my sword. That be better. Better yet, the sword should hit the monster, and it should have proper physics behind it, and the sword hit should create feed back.

My point is, that the closer your game/mmo or whatever mimics how things would behave if they were actually real, the much more impactful and worthy the virtual experience will be. Otherwise, why bother with this technology? In that sense we should just stick to regular screen gaming.

So, how do you begin to mimic reality simply with two screens in your face and two motion controllers? You don't. We need a few more things to get 80% close to actual reality.

1) Close to retina display with close to human fov. This is the closest thing to be released. Most likely 2022.

2) Moving around with your feet is paramount. Some form of universal locomotion solution that enables walking/running is necessary. Artificial locomotion simply will not do.

3) Physical feedback to the body. This could come in many forms that are now simply experimental but do exist and could be refined in the following years. These include full tactile and force feedback. You should be able to hold virtual objects and interact/feel them.

4) Reworking of ALL mechanics. Having all objects/interactions mimic how they would behave in real life.

God I fucking miss this. Still disappointed that we never got a third season

>making real life out of mmo
That's stupid ad you should feel stupid. Shortcuts are not a bad thing, hud like menus for inventory stats and shit is fine, it is also fine to have some kind program assists for combat and such. Also any mechanical locomotion solutions will be shit, we need full dive for it to be even remotely worth it, all other points are pretty much concluded with that.

What are you talking about? He's already finished up to volume 16, but Kadokawa is being retarded with the releases. V12 is in limbo at the moment with a release date for later this month, but both Amazon and Kadokawa keep killing the webpages for it.
Also, Kadokawa is in a weird place at the moment. They've been buying up companies and expanding too quickly over the last few years so they have a bunch of teams competing with one another trying to push out products and ruining release schedules every form of media they produce. They don't know what they're doing and LH has been one of the series to suffer the worst from it.

> Moving around with your feet is paramount.
I'd be happy with a joy stick bud

>Physical feedback to the body
Nope, visual and audio work just fine

> Reworking of ALL mechanics.
What... Skyrim VR + multiplayer mod seems to be just fine

Is there proof of it losing popularity? They just had a big event for it a few months ago.

This anime sucked fucking ass.

The fucking fuck?

You'll never get another season because of the shit the LN author did.

op here

Same tho

I wonder if I will enjoy it though

I never really get the good chemicals from rewatching uncomplex shows

>tfw author finally is done with his tax evasion bullshit and is working on it again

Too bad Season 3 will never happen since a lot of other isekai shows have taken the spotlight already and animation publishers probably don't want to work with someone that is technically a criminal. I'm surprised he's still has his deal with his book publisher.

i have 10 of the LN, I hope the ones they released gets translated, 11 came out recently so it's looking good

Blade and sorcery is literally the most fun I've had with a videogame in years. Now I'm not saying VR is at a good point right now, but if you have some spare cash it's definitely worth it.

>What is missing then?
Install base.

Both are trash.

Or Templar is we can use the region locked classes.

Fuck off, an MMO would be absolutely possible on current VR.

suck my dick or kill yourself the sassy little fuck

this, imagine grinding with a box strap to your face all the time, call me when we can actually dive into the game for real no need box 2 controllers sensors on the wall

I've never watched Log Horizon because I played .hack when it came out and thus got my fix of supernatural MMO plot early, but I'm inclined to say Log Horizon is better because the MC is ripped off from my favorite VN and I doubt that someone who read Inganock could produce something as fucking terrible as Sword Art Online.

Attached: Doctor Gii.jpg (600x800, 149K)

>Inganock favorite VN
based, didn't think anyone else read that

>sassy
Go home, loser.

First season is good. Second season gets the DEEN treatment and fucks itself up plot structure-wise. The content is still there it just feels like it's badly executed, like listening to music through a broken headset. Haven't read the LN. Mad as fuck there's never ever going to be a S3

INVESTORS

No investor is going to put his millions of dollars on a market that has NOT been tested. It's too risky.
So only small games without investors will be made until one gets popular, or doesn't, and it'll be the end of it.

Attached: 1552396063533.jpg (1024x531, 34K)

>Second season gets the DEEN treatment
Do you mean exclusively in the plot department, or pic related?

Nostos
Espire 1
Stormlands
Boneworks
HLVR

Just to name a few games in development. Keep coping poorfag. There are at least 3 VR MMOs with Orbus VR already released.

At least DEEN followed the LN designs unlike Satelight.

Not him but both, story seems to flipflop all over the place and DEEN animation is just shit. It didn't have the blood and soul S1 had, just look at the difference of quality the princess had from S1 and S2.

It's LITERALLY moved over to studio DEEN. The plot I cover separately in my post but as you read it also takes a hit.

i am home and more so for fucking 11 years now and i am sick and tired of you arrogant little zoomer shits that rather type 10 lines instead of one word, the name of the anime someone asked for

kill yourself you pile of literal dogshit

I'm too busy finding practical ways to become rich. Once I have some time and money I'll do something about that.

>sick and tired of you arrogant little zoomer shits
>spoonfeed me I'm an oldfag
Yeah okay

Oh, that is unfortunate

Rift and Index both track fingers using their controllers. The vive is actually inferior because it only tracks gripping and has no buttons.

user that's a lofty claim but I'll believe you. You can be the second Cy Games. A company run by autists who are willing to dump cash into sink-hole passion projects so long as it doesn't completely fuck over their bottom line.

And look how it turned out for them.

>Yea Forums is wrong about games again.

First SAO story, Log Horizon went to shit after season 1

>phone posting
>pound sign

Yep, that's a faggot.

> Screenshots a list of top selling vr games that are only compared to the sales of other vr games
> Haha Yea Forums you are wrong

Log Horizon the story where a white guy that roleplays a ninja turtle and yells cowabunga, the hero npc that shows up on all the boxart, a sentient chinese gold farming bot, and a big titty japanese girl travel across China to reach the japanese server.

Attached: Kanamis_party_CxhwdAqWgAAlvKk.jpg (700x526, 110K)

Imagine being that one gaijin who played on the japanese server and suddenly found themselves in an MMO world where they couldn't understand anyone either.

hey the suicide guild on s2 was based, niggers kept on killing themselves in hopes of going home

>0 nips speak english
big if true

But that's in a Scrub Horizon arc.

leonardo was american who got sent to the chinese server who met a nip from the europe server

Nah I watch it. Movie was pretty good. The games suck. Too basic and feels too much like an MMO even through it's a single player game.

Fatal Bullet is alright if you can find it for cheap.

I appreciate Log Horizon for all the shit it does well but love SAO to death for being so hilariously entertaining.

Attached: tumblr_og2kffSRJg1rltalxo1_400.jpg (400x424, 52K)

There are multiple but I guess none are anime enough for you.

Its missing affordable peripherals. The simple fact that even a budget VR visor and controllers will cost you $300. The cost of the system is making so the games aren't profitable enough.

Also the spinoff with the pink loli rabbit was way more fun than any SAO season.

hey sometimes theres something good in bad things

kek

Yeah.
With the amount of world building, a turn-based RPG with a side story plot would work just fine.

Also, Calvard when?

>SAO

So what's the deal with the race of ritual? Have they been revealed as to what their special power is?

They stop a child labor ring, implement a government, bring freedom to a neighboring city, stop a goblin invasion, forge alliance with the NPC kingdom seems like a decent chunk minus the episodes spent adapting to the weird fusion of game and non game.

I like the idea of unique monsters and unique monsters being able to evolve past their limit as well.

I feel like the author neglects the Earth side a little bit, though. At some point, you gotta wonder, will MC ever visit the headquarters of the company that made the game?

And is really laying down your bed the best position to play a VR game?

I always thought VR in the future would require something like the medical or dental recliners you sit in like at the dentist's office, like the VR company sells the game along with the recliner.

But most VR settings seem to think people will just lay down on bed and play VR that way, but is that really a good body position to do so?

No VR setting writer seems to address the question on the best position to play VR without negatively affecting your real life body.

Log Horizon is a solid anime, it's just some of the characters are more stereotypes than anything. The thing to look for this one is the more political stuff like that move from Shiroe when he bought the guild.

VR is a meme gimmick fad that is already over.

IMO one of the most solid point of LH is that you can definitively see that the author actually played MMOs before and understand how the political stuff can be as if not more interesting than "hurr I'm the strongest and can solo raid boss because I'm a BEATER".

I do.

OrbusVR is pretty good. I wish the artstyle was a little better, though.

>they'd make that money back
imagine unironically thinking that lmao

and I'm a VR enthusiast, but you're just pulling shit out of your ass right now, literally nobody has/uses VR, not ONLY because there's 'no games for it', even though there are plenty of games for it, the NES and PSX sold like pancakes when its game library was just as poor as what we have for VR right now, and just like the NES or PSX (or even the gameboy to some extent) it's those few gems that sold the consoles, zelda, FF and pokemon for example

you're an absolute morron or a fucking underage commie if you don't understand the risk of spending a few dozen millions of dollars on a title you do not know will sell (because only a fucking percent of the playerbase owns VR) when you could spend that money on games that people WILL buy because the recipe is known to work

all of you brainlets spewing the same shit over and over again don't realize how much money is in play right there, you can't just afford to waste a million dollar like that and go 'oh well, we tried xD'
you'll probably learn that when you'll stop living in your mom's basement

the hardware simply isn't there yet to justify taking some risks
it's overpriced, quirky, and there are too many things getting in the way, that maybe enthusiasts can look past but the average normie will not
give it another 5 years and wait for real gen 2, at the minimum

When I do it the glasses never readjust well.

You need content to sell hardware and hardware to sell content

yes, and the hardware isn't there yet

The index is pretty great
Locomotion still sucks in vr but the display and tracking tech is there

>no problem
Getting convicted and slapped with a suspended sentence is not "no problem".

yes the tracking is great and the displays are nearly there, but until there are no more cables, that the thing doesn't weigh so much, that it's much more comfortable and that VR sickness is cured, nothing will happen

but the index isn't for the crowd

Hello friendly user, Vive owner here: The hardware isn't there yet for mainstream penetration. You either have the high end of things (Vive, Index... etc.) or the low end (put your fucking phone into this plastic piece of shit) and neither can achieve what is needed.

I believe that any solution that relies on having a high end PC is going to fail to get mainstream success. Also, even if it could, I have to constantly troubleshoot my Vive and/or Steam VR every time I want to play a game. It's not a pick up and play experience, it feels like everything is just duct taped together.

Then on the low end what you have is total trash that fails to come close to what people want from VR. In truth, even the current high end doesn't achieve what people want from VR, there are issues still left to be solved outside of just hardware power and reliability (locomotion in limited space is a big one).

I think we will get there. We are closer than we ever have been before. However it is still in the very early phase of development.

>banged in alley
I thought she was banged by goblins down in the goblin cave.
Grimgar was great Team Scrub fantasy.

Log Horizon but I can't find any of the LNs - apparently the author stopped writing them all together?

lol
shield hero is one of the worst, most by the numbers isekai I've ever read

it was pretty nice, but after they introduced literally sherlock holmes as a genderbent kid, I just couldn't deal with it anymore.
Faraway paladin is solid, though.

The side-story, the west-wind-whatever manga with Mr. Harem is selling like hotcakes.

The vive is honestly really shitty
I always had to troubleshoot mine, sometimes had to spend 30 minutes unfucking it every time
I sold mine recently while it still had some resale value

>Infinite Dendrogram
Is that LN series over? Where can I read it?

>try it out
>MC runs head first into the plot by way of literally colliding with a cute girl
Yeah thanks for recommending this masterpiece.

>Moving around with your feet is paramount.
People don't want a /fit/ VR game. They also don't want to take up 30 square feet of floor space just for their VR setup.

Yeah, I was never comfortable with HTC being the leader of VR hardware. I'm glad that Valve has got their own shit going on now.

What problems are you having to trouble shoot? My only issue is that Windows gets worse with every update and will no longer automatically change the sound playback device. However, that is at least a consistent problem. On a very rare occasion, I might have to restart SteamVR. Other than that, I just click play on Steam like any other game.

Not at all, there's 9 volume published in English so far, and the 10th one is coming in October, you can either find them by buying them on Amazon or Madokami

Then wait for nerve integration, I am not going to play a game with a PC screen strapped to my face. People can do that already with normal PCs and majority of normies will agree with me.

>People don't want a /fit/ VR game.
You'd be surprised by how good it feels to have physical activity while doing something legitimately engaging. The problem with most fitness games is that they have always been edutainment-tier dog shit. With VR you can have a legitimately good game where you get active.

I had a lot of fun with this dodgeball-like game with my Vive-owning friends online. I also really like games like Sairento. If you play them long enough you can definitely work up a sweat.

Space is an issue that needs to be overcome though. Real world steps translating into VR steps is not an acceptable solution for locomotion, unless we get some unidirectional treadmills or something, but that just seems like a bandaid solution.

vn-meido.com/k1/index.php?topic=3205.0

I had issues with the display not turning on, wands not connecting, sound issues. Only lost $150 selling it, which is decent for getting 6 months of use out of it

Is anyone translating them to english so I can read the rest of it - eng LN translations are always slow to the JP authors releases

>a world without all of those
That is your cue to start one of those yourself.

The Japanese are only on the 11th book so we're pretty much at the same level since we're getting the 10th one next month.

I miss the series. May pick up the LNs after reading Overlord.

Imagine some full immersion shit hits the market like SAO, but your base stats are directle linked to your physical fitness. The salt would be great.
On the other hand, that's probably the only good way to not turn addicts into vegetables. Personally I'd love something like that.

>Most normies and Yea Forums don't understand VR.

I would agree that this is a problem. It is hard to market VR because there is no good way to show how it works without giving someone a chance to try it. Even then, it takes a little while to adjust and get use to it, so a short demo doesn't work. To make the problem even more difficult, there are a lot of low end VR options that will actually give a bad impression of how higher end VR works. However, in the end, the game being fun is what is most important. I'm not going to go back to a less fun game because the more fun game isn't way more fun.

That's what I am saying. Even a single player could go rogue and take over a city through scheming.

I hope VR MMOs are nothing like current-day MMOs (ie. WoWclones.)

The gameplay is so fucking boring

Those happened in Log Horizon though. Shiroe bought the guild building meaning anyone not abiding by whatever parameter he wants can't access vital services in their city. Nureha seduced the NPCs to gain power and influence.

I keep seeing people whining about that but I never see any alternatives being proposed

He capitalized it, so either he is a phoneposter (which, frankly is Haram) and got autocorrected, or he finds harem anime degenerate.

Perfection is fucking boring, just like those games.

Nostos was interesting at first but it's not shaping up to be anything great. Basically, all those games look like they'll get old after a few hours with them. We're not seeing games with real substance yet, like everything now regarded as classics from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. And there's no excuse for it like developers in the 70s and 80s had.

lol, imagine thinking these games look exciting. They look no better than cheap phone shit.

>you're an absolute morron or a fucking underage commie if you don't understand the risk of spending a few dozen millions of dollars on a title you do not know will sell
Companies were doing this all the time in the 90s. Many ended in bankruptcy, but you know what? If no one did this then none of the great games we got then would have been made. Risks have to be taken. And it's not like the risks being taken are completely uneducated; if you honestly fucking think that people wouldn't be willing to go grab a VR headset to play games that genuinely looked amazing and fun to play, you're clueless and probably don't even care about video games all that much. Marketing teams exist for the purpose of promoting quality content and pushing hardware sales in order to justify the costs. People in business today obviously don't understand how business works or understand how the culture works.

Uhh, you would make it like any non-WoWclone MMO

"massively multiplayer" networking can be applied to ANY type of game. You don't need to have an RPG system and "fetch 10 bear assholes" quests for a game to be an MMO.

Some example:

Space Cowboys Online / Ace Online (plane dogfighting MMO)
Planetside (MMO arena FPS)
EVE Online (economics/space combat MMO)
HellMOO (fallout-style text MMO)

VR but instead of being in a virtual area we're given dolls to control in a miniature park and we're all supposed to roleplay and you can actually be restrained, rolled over, killed and shiet
with multiple kind of area and each doll have a specific background you're supposed to respect

>Companies were doing this all the time in the 90s
no you brainlet they were not
you can't compare the scales, you absolutely cannot and should not compare the scale, we're talking a hundred thousand dollars max vs dozens if not hundreds of millions now

Those are one-off incidents with minimal long-term impact. Clearly an afterthought addon.

If you don't think players would splinter into religious, ideological and esoteric factions, you've got another thing coming.

Attached: 1479763355877.jpg (3818x1034, 1.3M)

>plane dogfighting mmo
war thunder is here and nobody wants that

>planetside
so a wow clone but in first person?
>bruh it's not the same at all, instead of fetching quests you have to grind dailies to get new/better guns
okay

>eve online
why would you even want this in vr?
what would VR bring other than clunky controls? people will prefer keyboard and mouse vs index/touch/whatever new comes out for these games user

>fallout style textmmo
>text mmo
>in vr
what the fuck am I even reading

I don't want to sound offensive, but are you on the spectrum?
who the fuck would think it's a good idea to make a vr text based mmo

>in a miniature park
then it's just a multiplayer game, not an mmo
there's already been a couple of strategy games in VR that are just that

Why the fuck are you jumping straight into games that are hundreds of millions to make? Why not start with games that are sub $100 million? And yes, they would make the money back, if the publishers and the designers weren't all fucking retarded.

>mmo
>sub 100m$

also;
>dozens of millions >= 100 million
user...

Shaman because I'm spiritual as fuck

Orbus, it's a good first attempt at a vr mmo. Township tale seems to have learnt a lot from orbus and is balancing grind better and adding more meaningful non-combat activities, as well as placing more emphasis on natural exploration rather than level specific zones.

There are at least two more kickstarted vr mmos in the works, although they don't look very convincing.

There's also a supposed AAA vr mmo in production but details are scarce.

So things are happening, it's just not immediate. I'd view VR as the early days of dedicated 3D graphics. Demand is limited by hardware uptake, hardware standards are not yet well established making compatibility challenging and expensive. And the building block mechanics of a VR game are not yet well understood. We're at the stage where people are trying to get single elements of, or small collections of, gameplay to work well. E.g. shooting bows, or casting spells, or naturally moving, or -as in the recent hour long presentation from Valve - opening doors. One dev spent over a month making doors for the source engine that were intuitive, felt real, and worked without explanation in playtesting. The lack of these base-line building blocks slows progress, but that's not to say real leaps aren't being made - it's just on fundamentals.

>not wanting it to be you controlling skylanders-like figure you brought before through your VR helmet
shit taste

Warthunder is not an MMO. Since the first line of your post was immensely retarded, I didn't bother to read the rest. I will now forget you exist. Goodbye.

it is an mmo :^)
but good on you for admitting you can't come up with any argumentation whatsoever

MMOs are shit. I'm not OP. Also, you mentioned games that were hundreds of millions to make, when there's no need to mention them at all.

warthunder is a 8v8 plane game dawg
i guess call of dutys an MMO too now, in fact 99% of multiplayer games are

the subject of this thread is VR MMOs you dumdum

and you're a fool if you think you can make anything worth anything in VR without spending that much money on it
>muh superhot/beat saber
oh yeah I can see why everyone bought VR just to play these games nowadays, they're true machine sellers aren't they

just admit it, you have no idea how much money developing a game that isn't some 2D indie platformer costs, especially when it comes to a completely new playground such as VR

afaik the only AAA dev/publisher that is interested in and that is actually investing in VR is bethesda, and it's a very sad state of affair that we'll have to count on them of all studios to bring us the real VR seller

It goes up to 32v32 though, and afaik that's an even bigger group of people that you could raid with in wow vanilla (and probably actual)
If we go by your silly definition of what an MMO is then there is yet to be an MMO out right now

Counter strike is 5v5, is that an MMO, or borderline?
Double dragon neon has 2-player coop. That's an MMO, right?

It's not about the size of your fucking party, MMOs have, since their inception, been about hundreds to thousands of people in the same persistent world.
WoW wasn't a 40-player game. The servers supported thousands of concurrent players, with tens of thousands of regular players to any one server. All in the same persistent world.

>and you're a fool if you think you can make anything worth anything in VR without spending that much money on it
You could spend $50 million on a VR game and you'll make that back easily as long as the game is fucking good and the marketing team isn't full of fucking idiots. With that budget it also won't be an indie piece of shit like everything else that's popular for VR right now, either, unless the publishers or the developers are garbage, which nowadays is highly likely. Like I've been saying, the real problem is the lack of talent.

>bruh trust me they'll make that money back
no, not yet, not with the state VR is in right now
give it another five to ten years

Attached: SteamHWSurveyDec2018.png (399x178, 10K)

You chucklefucks keep saying this but it isn't true. Like I said way at the beginning of the thread RE7 happened and IT WAS GREAT besides it being stuck on the PS4. If there were like a dozen games like RE7 to play on VR and they weren't platform-dependent, I guaran-fucking-tee that VR sales should spike like crazy. Want to know why? Because people still enjoy video games and they still want to play great video games, and indie games are not great video games, things which neither publishers nor Yea Forums seems to fucking understand anymore.

>if VR had games more people would buy in
no shit
a games playform without games is pointless, which is why nobody's bought in

SAO obviously. Log Horizon S2 was really fucking cringe.

A VR game with WoW-tier graphics would easily be possible on current hardware. The problem isn't the hardware, it's the huge investment in terms of money and time along with the required dev skill to actually make a good MMO which is the problem. Nobody is going to invest that much since the VR market is still small and is only growing slowly. It's a catch 22 situation in general, the market is small and only growing slowly because there isn't sufficient high-quality dev support, but there's no dev support because the market is small.

And what I'm saying is that publishers are uncultured morons for not realizing this. They think they'll lose the money they invest in bigger budget VR games when that's not the case if they play their cards right.

There's: store.steampowered.com/app/746930/OrbusVR_Reborn/
Also: store.steampowered.com/app/943150/Nostos/
And: kickstarter.com/projects/zenithmmo/zenith-the-fantasy-cyberpunk-mmo-game-for-vr-and-desktop

But nothing really high budget.

>publishers
would gain nothing by making games for a playform with fuckall install base, only to grow it and let someone else swoop in and reap the profit

They'd gain a profit. People like new, innovative stuff. If they refuse to invest in new things, their sales will eventually plummet. They already are which is why they've introduced so many cheap ways to keep making a buck, like DLC and MTX and loot boxes. None of it is needed if your content is good, fresh, and fascinating.

>They'd gain a profit.
No.

Then you're retarded and uncultured just like they are. Thanks for helping to shit everything up.

psvr is still inferior.
>make VR with bare minimum requirements
>re-use shitty psmove controllers
>sell it to all the normie retards who don't know jack shit about technology
>10/10 -ign "its like VR but with psmove controllers"
it only sold more because ps4 has a audience of retards who fell for the hype expecting top tier gaming experience when consumer VR is still in its infancy. literally nobody talks about psvr except "muh sales means its the best headset xDDD"

You're the one who makes empty claims, failing to address a single fucking thing I said. Why should I entertain that?

ITT white man brags about how much money he has and how deluded he is into thinking everyone has the same life as him. Grow up

Holy shit YIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKES, imagine playing a VR game and having your chad friends pick male buff characters and play damage/tank builds while you have a female skin and play as a healslut.

Could also be that its not even close to profitable.

>Why should I entertain that?
Because you don't understand basic human psychology, just like the publishers and modern marketing teams.

Stop using your race card as an excuse for having terrible opinions and ideas on how shit works.

People didn't just stop caring about playing good and interesting games, so I don't see how it wouldn't be profitable as long as you have that.

>Because you don't understand basic human psychology
That's not a reason, and you don't understand how arguments work.
I spell out to your dumb ass the problems with your reasoning. The first thing you do is go "nuh-uh!" and never address a fucking word I said.

Why should I bother making an argument when you'll just ignore it(again). Why should I bother making an argument when you just pull claims out of your ass without even a token justification? Explain it to me like you had a working brain, you posturing fucking halfwit.

Valve are currently looking into Human-Brain interfaces, including research into direct-contact with the brain through an "invasive" implant. Its fascinating stuff, though they know most people wouldnt want to get an implant to use vr.

>assassin
>human
>hitman

They can't even get regular MMOs down. You want to add VR on top?

Why would someone else eat up the profit? Your argument makes no fucking sense. If you put out a good game, and you know how to market it, people will buy it, regardless if it came out before or after they purchased a VR headset. They will in fact buy it for years to come then. My evidence? This is how non-VR games have worked for fucking decades.

>He thinks he will be able to retire before 80

>believing the average normie can afford a vr-ready system
nigger, even high end owners like myself sometimes have trouble running games as simple looking as pavlov or skyrim

if you believe in the 1060 minimum meme then you should probably try VR before spewing more stupidity on the internet like that, someone might take you seriously after all

a good game library is meaningless if you need a 1500$ future proof PC to run them on low graphics
the hardware isn't there yet, no matter how much you complain about games not being made for it, it will not change until the hardware gets there
at least gen 2 if not gen 3

I usually hate girls with a personality like her but she was an exception

>Why would someone else eat up the profit?
Are you serious? Explain my argument to me. I don't believe for a second you actually read the post.

>the better de-construction of isekai
Why would I want something "deconstructed" that I unironically like? I'm not a Sociology major.

>S/A/O has a shitty Garu Stu MC and annoying Harem THOTs as "love interests"
And when are you gonna get to some negative points?

stop using your gentrified autism to tell me how much property I own with your preprogrammed capitalist spouting you ashkenazi 8-ball.

The problem is not publishers not understanding psychology. It is that making a profit isn't good enough. It is a waste of time to make a good game that makes a good profit when you could make a bigger budget souless game that will maximize profit. There is no room in the current market for mid sized developers that can take risks to advance video games. It is a big problem for games as a whole, but particularly for getting something like VR off the ground. We need someone who can take a financial hit early on to put themselves in a good place to make profit in the long run.

Do you hate cats too? People these days......

You don't need a $1500 PC for VR. There's the standalone Quest for $400 now and very soon next gen consoles will release which will grant people access to VR at around the same price point, maybe a couple hundred more. These aren't unreasonable numbers. And at any rate, companies should be considering what Japan is already doing, which is opening up VR arcades to let people enjoy the tech at an extremely affordable cost.

Businessmen, like I said, are so damn uncultured and clueless these days, it's unbelievable... they just don't fucking get it. They don't think people wanting something is enough to invest in something and don't want to be bothered to think of new ways to get people in the door to pay money for it. And then they don't even think people want it when their rigid approaches don't work out. Fucking imbeciles.

I was replying to this:

>would gain nothing by making games for a playform with fuckall install base, only to grow it and let someone else swoop in and reap the profit

There's no reason why someone else would "swoop in and reap the profit."

Because VR is still a new market, and while the japanese are less risk averse, there's no telling if the venture will give anything worthwhile. You don't seem to understand that very few people own or have the desire to own a VR headset, and on top of that, all the technology is still very experimental.

The only imbecile here...Is you!!!!!

>you ashkenazi 8-ball.
Bro, if anyone's a Jew it's the faggot itt defending dumbass publishers' decisions to rigidly and autistically apply the same fucking business model ad infinitum while ignoring what people actually want, and thinking it's totally fine to supplement the inevitable gradual loss in profits with cheap bullshit like DLC and MTX and lootboxes.

>It is a waste of time to make a good game that makes a good profit when you could make a bigger budget souless game that will maximize profit.
The bubble will eventually explode because it's founded on incorrect thinking.

Summoner. Because I love pet classes and NOBODY KNOWS HOW TO FUCKING DO THEM IN MMOS!

>You don't seem to understand that very few people own or have the desire to own a VR headset, and on top of that, all the technology is still very experimental.
But that's not true. Most people are interested in seeing what happens with VR, and will jump right on it once they see that a lot of really cool games are coming out for it.

Did I call you a jew? Did I? Read it again. And then read it again after that. I called you a jewish object. A fucking children's toy with the word of the jewish lord stamped on it giving it life you actual golem

And you're that because instead of shilling for bigger companies you decided it was somehow an upgrade to go into the streets and shill for snakeoil sails men instead. You're the gaming equivalent of Essential Oil sellers only at least they have the decency to let you keep the little bottles afterwards.

Because summons create a fuck ton of lag if you are allowed more then 1 at a time and if there are multiple summoners. Only GW1 was able to get away with it since everything was instanced, so you were only lagging your party out or in a pvp map with 20 players+npcs at most.

Who are most people? Your friends on steam or the ones in the forums you view? Until you can show me numbers and prove that you're not in an echo chamber I'm sorry my friend I'll just need to assume you're retarded

Hell one is fine as long as you have some variety and you work with the Summon, rather than it just being some DoT.

You have nothing else to say, obviously, if this is the type of dumb shit you're going to start spouting.

I'm responding to what you give me. So far you have given zero evidence or point to your stance other than 'lel the Japanese are doing it' or 'lel my friends said it was cool'

Well guess what buster the world isn't the Japanese or your friends. Sorry I had to be the first one to tell you but shit we all need to learn sooner or later

>Who are most people?
The hundreds of millions between the ages of 10-50 who play video games and are into them. Most of them would gladly buy VR or get their parents to buy VR if there were VR games they were excited about. If you need "evidence" of this then you're uncultured as fuck.

>retire at 80
>get into a hospital bed with VR helmet
>spend rest of life in a VR induced coma as a cute girl doing cute thing
living the dream

How about an actual cited source? Do you actually not know how argumentation works? Not a good look user. In the business we call that indication of poor breeding or more informally micropenis disorder

>The bubble will eventually explode
I can only hope so. Even if VR is mostly indie right now, it is still the most fun I have had out of any of the current generation platforms. A lot of games are ugly and short, but they have a lot of fun and unique ideas. It has spoiled my enjoyment of many types of regular games knowing they could have been better in VR. Trying to go back to a mouse shooter from VR is worse than the jump from mouse back to controller.

You're not responding to anything I'm saying, just repeating over and over that somehow I'm wrong and that somehow people don't actually want to play good video games if there's a VR headset involved.

You and your fucked-up view of the world is not shared by the average person, or by the passionate hobbyist. There was a time when video games were a completely new thing and yet there were businesses that still invested in them, and it turned out to be the right decision. There was a time when everything made by civilization was a completely new thing. There's no actual risk involved when investing in new things as long as you are cultured and understand what people want. Businessmen don't seem to understand that if there were a dozen more games like RE7 on shelves for at least a couple different major platforms for VR that there would be a huge influx in VR sales in a short amount of time, because people want it.

>until then you're just strapping a monitor to your face and waving wiimotes around
t. has never even tried VR but feels the need to impart his stupid opinion

>How about an actual cited source?
See, you think just like these publishers, which is exactly why your conclusions are the same as theirs. How about leaving your fucking room / office for once and realizing that there's other ways to understand people outside of some fucking statistics on a white board? Retard.

Yes, I know what you were replying to. I was asking for you to, in your own words, explain my argument to me so I could see what you have trouble understanding, because you do not. Now, please, go on.

What I have trouble understanding is the absolutely retarded notion that someone else would make a profit after you just got done making a game so damn good that people bought a VR headset specifically to play your game.

But I am. So far what you've given me has been feeling charged nonsense. I'm glad you gave me a block of text so that I can show you exactly what I mean

>There was a time when video games were a completely new thing and yet there were businesses that still invested in them

When? Cite a timeline. Be specific. This is a basic when talking about anything, and I shouldn't need to tell you this.

>There was a time when everything made by civilization was a completely new thing.

This is all relative. There was the time when the automobile was new. Was it ten years after or two years after that it was still considered new? How young or old is video gaming? You don't have a metric besides your own personal metric, and unlike businessmen, you don't have trained analysts to back it up.

>Businessmen don't seem to understand that if there were a dozen more games like RE7 on shelves for at least a couple different major platforms for VR that there would be a huge influx in VR sales in a short amount of time, because people want it.

Businessmen do that because they have data backing up that it works, and it does. But what data do you have that VR is wanted? Because that's what it comes down to. Solid data. And if you don't have the data to back up your claim, do you want to know what that makes you?

A MLM salesperson. A rabbit in its hidey hole thinking everyone in the world likes carrots because he and his friends and the rabbits he sees on his rabbit forums likes carrots.

that's a huge money investment tho. Do you honestly think everyone has that kind of money? Most of the market is poor and does not live with their parents user.

Yes, and your failure to understand that single, very simple point, is the reason I am trying to find out the source of your misunderstanding.

Now, please, would you get the fuck on with it already?

You seem apt to discuss shit that's completely irrelevant to the topic of discussion, like the relativity of things being new. Who the fuck cares? We're talking about Western society, as in Europe and the United States, aren't we? Do I really have to specify this? Good fucking god.

>Businessmen do that because they have data backing up that it works, and it does.
I'm not saying data isn't important. I'm saying that data isn't the be-all end-all of understanding what people want, which is what autists think. If it was, the bubble wouldn't be on the verge of exploding, and businessmen wouldn't be absolutely fucking retarded regarding VR right now.

>Do you honestly think everyone has that kind of money?
I think a ton of people have about $600 to blow on some entertainment they really really want, yes. Definitely enough to justify investing in creating that entertainment.

Just explain yourself or fuck off, dude. You're such a dumb fucking nerd.

>Gabe will save VR.

We have been hearing about this Half-life VR for years now.

Zuckerborg put down $3 billion to acquire Oculus, what do you think would a few millions or even dozen/hundreds of million be for the software required to attract an audience?

>There will never be any more log horizon

>HLVR
Meme, people who actually want that from nu-Valve are Redditors. They could actually make a VR engine with SDK that would blow Unity/Unreal Engine 4 out of the water. Valve seems to hate game dev since a long time, but even then they made SFM, an engine is actually something I can see them doing and maybe even not fucking it up, HLVR, though? The whole "hurr durr how do we make them open doors in VR" shows they don't even fucking get how video games work anymore. Throw a fucking tutorial in there. if they were so worried about stupid mechanics back then as they are now they'd never finish Half-Life because of fucking crouch-jumping

Lol calm down you're way too mad

Relative is relevant. Is gaming old, or still young? Answering that question is important when you're considering what you're asking.

>I think a ton of people have about $600 to blow on some entertainment they really really want, yes. Definitely enough to justify investing in creating that entertainment.
Then you need to get out of the house more, I can't be your mother and explain to you the realities of the world, my little baby boy.

>Just explain yourself or fuck off, dude. You're such a dumb fucking nerd.
I have. I pointed out the fallacies in your argument. When you make a claim, the onus is on you to back up that claim with a source. If you can't, you don't have an argument, and your opinion is imaginary and informed not by logic but by the delusional machinations of a man insulated completely from the world.

Log Horizon, SAO is hollow wish fulfillment

What does boneworks have to do with gabe? It's not even by valve.

>Gabe rolls into the office
>Sees Hazard Course script
>"Crouch-Jumping? How do fuck does that work"
>Tries to do it, sprains ankle
Cancel it, cancel the whole fucking thing.
>B-but Gabe
CANCEL IT

WE SAY WOW WOW WOW WOW

Read the WN or the LN?
Any good links?

>Just explain yourself
I did. You did not understand it. You have given me nothing to indicate what, precisely, you (in your words) are "having trouble understanding". How the fuck am I supposed to proceed from there? Do you think arguments are a game of fucking battleship? Am I supposed to blurb out random fucking statements until I, by pure chance, stumble on what your dumb ass missed?

Why the fuck are you so scared to paraphrase my argument? How the hell are we supposed to get anywhere when you don't understand the initial fucking argument? How am I supposed to explain it to you when you keep refusing to say what the fuck it is you need explained? Explain fucking what? What is it you do not understand? That's what I've been asking you for the past half dozen fucking posts, you dumb fuck. How am I supposed to explain something I don't fucking know what it is because you won't tell me.

don't

They seemed to have some connection with Valve, appearing on Valve Master List and all, but I dunno. Gabe probably liked their project or something.

DATABASE isn't VR though.

I wouldn't be if I wasn't dealing with cretins of such unbelievably low IQ, who are actively working towards destroying Western society to boot by having horrid viewpoints.

>Is gaming old, or still young?
In Western society, gaming is old. Plenty of people still enjoy new video games, myself included, but plenty of people also totally want new and more immersive things to come out at this point.

>Then you need to get out of the house more, I can't be your mother and explain to you the realities of the world, my little baby boy.
Tens of millions of people travel outside of the US on vacation every year. Video games are still a massive industry. There is no basis for the assertion that if truly great games started being made for VR that there wouldn't be ample numbers of people seeking to get VR.

How about you start answering my questions now? For example, what is your logic—why do you think people don't want this kind of entertainment anymore? Why do you think having a line up of truly appealing games wouldn't get people to spend money on it? People buy bigger TVs and new consoles and new cars and go on vacation and order takeout and subscribe to a dozen different streaming / app services and even buy new video games all the fucking time. What's the reasoning behind asserting that if there was a plenitude of substantial VR games to play suddenly people would no longer have any money to spend on them and suddenly people wouldn't seek new thrills and forms of entertainment to get immersed in during their recreational time?
