I mostly emulate old shit, play porn games and pirate new games before buying; turns out most recent games are awful shit, the rest I usually get them cheap for PS4 (which almost never happens)
What are you emulating now user?
Usually I just drain some hours into TF2 or USF4 or replay something like the Mass Effect trilogy or the CoD Modern Warfare trilogy or the Bioshock trilogy.
Sakura Wars V for PS2 since the new one (Shin sakura taisen) looked interesting and I wanted to know more about the series and let me tell you, it's a great fucking game

Mostly been finishing up on a few VNs with some TF2 on the side lately.
You dont need a lot for 1080 60, 8 gigs of ram and a decent quad core processor will do ya good. I got mine prebuilt so idk much about graphics cards but my 1050 TI works just great.
Quadcores are literally dead in 2019. Most AAA games bottleneck anything with less than 6 threads hard. 8gb ram also isn't viable in 2019 and 16gb is the recommended spec.
I don't understand what the numbers mean on graphics cards
is there a place I can see what is better than something else?
If you don't understand card models then you won't understand comparison charts.
But often you can just look up two cards with VS between them to see a comparison on several sites.

Going from budget to super fast performance. The best bang4buck is usually in the x60/x70 range but there's been a lot of price gouging and hiking in recent years which has fucked everything up. In 2014 you could buy a gtx 970 for $330 but then the next gen 1070 was $379 and now in the latest gen you can't even get an x70 card for the $300-400 range the gtx 2060 is $350.
As for AMD cards their naming scheme is all over the place they went from cards called HD 7970 and similar to r9/rx 280, 290, 290x, 570, 580 to 5700 and 5700xt with some weird cards in the middle like fury, vega 56 and vega 64.

Pic related is my current Steam library, I've already finished Deus Ex and MGR a long time ago but I'm keeping them around for when I fee like going for the 100%, currently going for 100% on Shadow Tactics which was a great amazing and that I recommend to pretty much everyone. Not seen is Dragon's Dogma which I've unnistalled recently after playing it 4 times in a row because it was just that great and BLOOD Fresh Supply which was also a pretty fun ride. Outside of Steam I also have some GoG favourites that I like keeping around but don't really play unless I feel like relaxing, Master of Olympus is usually my go to for that.

I wish AMD would stop doing paper launches, 3900x prices are still fucking hell. I also wish someone would make a GPU that's more cost effective than what I have.
I have shit taste and probably some kind of autism, so most of the time I'm playing The Division. Rest of the time is mostly Touhou.

I'd be getting an x570 board anyways, I hope at least that shit would work. Can't say no to 3x m.2 and 8x SATA natively.
patrician
Do you really need that many drives though?
I looked at the X570 offerings and none of them seemed useful.
PCIe 4.0 is going to be pointless for several years still, unless you have some uncommon workload that REALLY needs extreme read/write speeds for storage. GPUs don't even fully utilize PCIe 3.0 yet.
have fun with your faulty chipset fan goy
>Do you really need that many drives though?
yeah, if youre a retard like me.

I sorta do. It's the backups that get you.

It doesn't really feel that hot inside my computer case. Maybe Speccy is just being an ass about the temperatures?
I certainly enjoy it.
Speccy is notorious for being faulty with AMD chip temps, but on-die temperature is different from case ambient. The whole point of the cooler is to get heat from on-die to case ambient.
Use RealTemp to check temps.

So this mean I had more trouble than necessary running Stalker mods and even GZDoom before they fixed the Vulkan renderer. This is something I did not expect at all, so I'll probably slot in a Ryzen 4000 (Zen 2 is much better for older games) when they come out and also upgrade to the nextgen Nvidia GPUs because I'll be running 1440p ultrawide soon.
