nothing wrong with the sticks, it's not nintendos fault if you manchildren unleash your rage on the hardware

learn some restraint god damn

>Switch lite is meant for children
>Leave in the shitty driftprone sticks
LMAO

Try actually taking care of your shit

1/100000 have the fault

You're more likely to die in a car crash this year user

Replacement sticks are like less than $5 and a literal retard could replace them.

Don't have neither this one or the OG switch
Can someone explain the problem to a brainlet like me?

How do drones still deny there's any problem when Nintendo themselves will replace fucked up soicons for free?

The sensors inside the stick assembly wear out incredibly easy, which leads to imprecise inputs and the full range of motion not being registered properly.

OG stick breaks
nu-switch has same sticks
Yea Forums seethes

Kek

>nintendies believe this

If even ninsöys are breaking it, it's bad

and that's a good strategy, parents will just buy another

Retards, drifting is caused by dust not wear.

Drift is inevitable on any console sticks with enough use my PS4 left stick is screwed up

Isn't it both? Which is why cleaning it is only a temporary fix

>cheaper model costs more to fix
Makes sense.

Thats due to spring wear, not a manufacturing flaw.

No, I have a launch Switch, it is used by a kid constantly, I have opened it twice after drifting, the contacts were fine, cleaning them fixed the drifting.

they're the same sticks as the revised switch which has no drifting problems
maybe some people should take this advice

>They're the extremely easily repairable ones that are in regular joycons.
Probably still won't get one but that is some AMAZING news.

Attached: DdIgi9RW0AA_eBZ.jpg (231x250, 12K)

you upgraded, right Yea Forums?

Nintendo hardware is unbreakable. Stop spreading lies.

Attached: 448.jpg (341x700, 69K)

>Try actually taking care of your shit
dont you think parents already do that? their kids will still fuck it up somehow and that's $200 gone to waste. and i dont think most parents know that the Lite is an absolutely shit console for their kids and they should be getting a regular Switch because it's more durable. but they look at the price tag and thinking that they'll save $100 if they get the Lite. instead, however, they get scammed up the ass. Nintendo is so fucking retarded and dishonest.

Attached: soylatte.webm (640x358, 1.91M)

>that disgusting screen protector
user, change that shit

>nothing wrong with the sticks
There's no way this board isn't full of paid Nintendo shills.

You can fix joycon drift with contact cleaner in less time than it takes to make a whiny reddit post yet autists just can't bring themselves to do it

It used to be but the switch isn't the same caliber of nintendium

The materials are good and the build is of good quality, however there is something really wrong with them, a design oversight causes dust to gather on top of the contacts, causing bad connections i.e. drifting.

>Spending thousands on your child.

Bruh. stop..

They stopped using Nintendium when the Wii era started.

Seriously, how the fuck did that gameboy survive?

>cleaning them fixed the drifting.
Objectively false since the drifting is caused by design issues of mechanical components.

probably because they have to fully disassemble the whole machine instead of just one small part (which even then is only like a 30min project at most)

it sits in the dock all day i dont give a shit

>I've never touched a joycon let alone opened one, I'll still spread bullshit.
Kid, shut up.

I'm still confused why he does the onions face at the last minute

its a burnt shell placed over a working chip. the fire that burnt the plastic would have also burnt the display. i keep telling you its fake but manchildren still keep posting this as some sort of proof that their toy company is superior.

Then why does contact cleaner sprayed under the cap fix it, champ?

>STILL haven't fixed the drifting even with a completely new hardware version
Holy SHIT can Nintendo be any more incompetent and LAZY?

it's pretty bad

Attached: wew.jpg (1940x2836, 755K)

More like greedy, since they don't design the Joysticks, they can easily order a redesign but I'm sure they don't want to spend on it.

>My sticks haven't been drifting with the joycons I got like a year ago
Was there just some sort of crappy production run of them a couple months ago?

on release they were real bad, but newer models are fixed apparently.

Im starting to experience drift in my left joycon. How hard would it be to disassemble, clean, and reassemble it to fix the drift?

How do you unga niggers manage to break your gaming equipment so much? It's really not hard to keep your controllers and devices in good condition

Attached: 1531939190857.jpg (337x426, 23K)

The only fucky joycons I got were a pair of pre owned ones, just look after your shit and there wont be any problems.

just soak it in soapy water

I owned my Switch for a year before I had to buy replacement sticks. It was cheap but this shit is still something every consumer should be aware of.

I don't see any PS4 or xbone controllers recently breaking.
Makes u think.

You do know that 2 x 0 is still 0 right user?

my ps4 controller was covered in a mountain of dust and has never once drifted

>Japan
>Included in the class action lawsuit
Nintendo still charges Japanese owners you dumbass.

it only fix it for about 3weeks before it starts shitting up again.

t. procon with left stick drift issues

Really? My in-box cons aren't experiencing drift either, though that's most likely because I've barely been using them once I replaced them.

when my sticks start drifint i use this, has helped me for over a year now

Shit bros Im about to get Switchlite tomorrow for my girlfriend.

Should I not?

Attached: 7e5.png (600x527, 410K)

Dammit, meant for

I've had a Switch since launch with 4 joycons and never had any issues with drift.

Are you Japanese? No? Then why should you care faggot

Different Joysticks, not even comparable.
Harder than it looks, the Joycons have membranes thar get in the way after dissasembling them, the joysticks are held together by some flimsy aluminum tabs, they break VERY easily, you'd need to be very careful. Assembly is easier.

>girlfriend
Girls are overrated, user. What you need is a big, strong man.

This. Nintendo already got away with releasing underpowered consoles for the last 2 decades so now they've realised they can release consoles that will break within 12 months and their fans will just buy another.

And what exactly has your girlfriend done to deserve a switch?

>xbone
make sense, their R&D team is the best in the industry when it comes to making controller
>PS4
lol

And why exactly should people take dating advice from a virgin such as yourself?

That's what people used to say about the red ring of death on xbox 360 at first. They'd claim "oh the only people having their console's fail are the ones who don't follow instructions and put it in a non-ventilated entertainment cabinet." But it turned out they all had the critical failure, it was just a matter of time.

Apparently drift is caused by dust rubbing off of inside parts or something like that, so the less you use them, the less likely they are to drift.

That's just my guess based of what I've heard though, I'm no hardware genius or anything like that.

Woah calm down user. He just asked a question.

>best in the industry
>literally had to make ELITE controller 2 because the first one was so cheaply designed and made

Here's how to fix this: just repeat the original Driftgate. Keep baiting middling no-name attorneys/firms with this issue to bait another one into attempting another class action suit against Nintendo. This puts Nintendo in the public hot seat again so they will be pressured to fix this at no cost (albeit probably without official announcement yet again).

It's shitty that this is how things have to be done with Nintendo but at least we know a reliable weak point to exploit for change.

She and I wanna play pokemon together and just bool.
She's also basedpilled on me and redpilled on other guys so I'm safe.

youtu.be/6Gzj0f9SrBs

I've heard about plenty of cases within my friend group of Bone controllers with broken bumpers. Anything but the original revision have them as a single piece that is very brittle.

My switch went months without use and still has drift issues. I counted the time played and it hasn't been used for more than 100 hours since I bought it. I tried cleaning any dust that may have gotten inside and nothing changed. What a piece of fucking shit. Even if the sticks worked, they are still some of the worst analog sticks to ever grace a controller.

Left one is ridiculously easy to take apart and reassemble.

Did you just open the joycons? Or the joystick itself?

>critical failure
is that what we're calling shitty early lead-free solders used to comply with an EU lead ban?

Is the screen big enough to game on? It’s like the same size as a iPhone.

just say she sucks your dick

Why the fuck do they always do that retarded face? Are they expecting Tyrone to appear and put a dick in their mouth?

The screen is slightly bigger than an iPhone XL or whatever they call them

certified bruh moment...

oh god this is a reference to something but I can't remember, was it something about the 3ds?

That's fair enough, but regardless of the reason that's a bad thing for consumers. Having a good reason doesn't make the extra cost a better use of my money.

>push the stick to the left
>it goes left

huh, strange

protip: it's not the controller you see in the image

2. shave your pubes
3. take a shower
4. clean your keyboard and house
5. take another shower
6. get a haircut
7. have sex

why is this the same reply every time there's some low quality mechanical device that breaks being discussed

because it's not rocket science, you treat your stuff with care it will last long, you go full gorilla on it, well it will break

i have the same problem with 2 different left Joycons.
Always to drifts to the left and only to the left. The right joy con drifts to the right. Only because the analog is in the right analog upside down so it still technically drifts to the left.
This is a common problem for the Joycons that has nothing to do with dust.

>I have no reason to lie
do you need a reason

You are seriously bad at applying screen protectors.

sorry xiao but your products are bad

the screen was replaced faggot

>nothing to do with dust
Retard, have you ever seen the inside of one? It drifts left because the connections intersect on the upper left side, when dust gathers there it starts causing interference due to the contacts being so close together. Stop talking out of your ass.

Are the screen protector's really worth it?

Attached: Switch Lite.png (1024x686, 452K)

I think so as its the majority of the system and much harder to replace than buttons or joysticks.

>gameboy can survive a bunker buster bomb blast and still power on
>Switch can't be jostled around slightly without horribly breaking down

Attached: 90de7ca01997483eeb9f63d8acd952ce.jpg (500x492, 26K)

I guess so

>Different Joysticks, not even comparable.

Attached: 1380766554640.gif (625x626, 529K)

Yes. I take my joycons apart once every 3-5 weeks when the drift happens again.
I never have to clean them because nothing inside the joycon is dirty, The joy con's analog isn't the same type of analog as every other controller. It's controlled by a sensor and two strips. If the strips mis-align at all you get the drifting problem. The strips are located in the top and left sides of the analog.
Alternatively the right joy con's are location on the bottom and right sides.
Simple "cleaning" the analog does next to nothing. any cleaner or compressed air one would use would just potentially realign the strips.

stop bullying im just trying to help

You didn't put them back together as they should be retard. You must likely fucked up something in the process brainlet.

LMAO@ your incompetence

>lol you suck because I said so.
And this just shows you never knew shit about a Joy-con and outed yourself for having to idea on how to fix it's drifting issues.

Good job. Try again later.

Just buy new ones

I can definitely do something about it, and I plan to.

I just wish Nintendo made good sticks so that this wouldn't be an issue in the first place.

>Better luck next time!

maybe spend an extra ten cents making them not be trash

ROFLMAO
Filthy incompetent brainlet, stop spreading bullshit.

> just drop $80 on a new version of a product that broke and hope they work

sure man, that's a good idea

>You can fix joycon drift with contact cleaner
The problem isn't oxidized contacts, it's damaged contacts. You would be best off replacing them, but Nintendo would be wise to not use HASL or ENIG shit for something like that.

>pokemon
fuck you and fuck your girlfriend

Easy damage control: Just blame the user for mishandling the product. Steve Apple did it with the iPhone 4.

I've had two bone controllers in the same year, both times one or more of the face buttons stopped springing up to their normal positions and it's annoying to press harder to get them to work, and actively avoid playing games I prefer a controller for because I don't want to go buy another one.

xbone controllers are notorious for failure, some failures a little more explosive than others. If you've ever taken one apart you'll know how clearly rushed the design is, it's an utter joke they shipped it in that state.

Attached: failed-diode.jpg (679x1200, 114K)

>being this combative

Can you stop bootlicking for just one fucking second and maybe go outside?

Or just spend 10 dollars on a bunch of replacements.
It's not hard to replace them, thankfully.
Also, just talk to any optometrist, and you can get replacement screws to replace the garbage Y wing screws.

Attached: joystick.png (745x142, 14K)

Most controllers usually break after a few years of use. Nintendo controllers and consoles are usually the exception - that's why Joy Cons are getting so much hate, since Nintendo shit usually never breaks.

In reality, the Nintendo Joy Cons just have about the same life span as XBone and PS4 controllers.

>Replacement touch screen digitizer
~$25
>Tempered glass screen protector that probably won't break unless your a dumbass and throw your keys on a bag with your switch in it (And is also a little easier to clean)
~$7
It's up to you.

My ps4 controllers didn't start drifting until like 4 years into it's life. 3 of my joy-cons got the drift in under a year.

It was on the wiiu era, remember all those smashed TV's?

If that's the case, I've died a total of 3 times so far.

As opposed to?

You fucking retard, people buy consoles for their kids, which make up a large percent of the industries sales. If Nintendo fails to child proof their handheld thats totally their failing.

Generally yeah. Glass protectors basically act as a focus sash for your consoles.

You have to bring back the switch along with all the included accesories even if it's just a defective joycon to RMA in EU anyway. When one of my RAM sticks started giving errors I had to return both sticks.

Some shit that's soldered on? A different thumbstick entirely that doesn't already have an abundant supply of aftermarket sticks you can buy right now?

samefag

I was about to post this. What CAN'T WD-40 fix?

You double retard now the parent have to buy another switch to babysit their kid. Nintendo wins again and they are banking on it

Nintendo fanboys are like Apple fanboys. To them the company can do no wrong and the problem has to be user error.

of course its a good corporate move, but the person defending nintendo for doing it morally is fucking nigger

So will Nintendo make you buy an entire new Lite, or will they fix it and send it back to you free of charge? I remember the Nintendo place fixed my Game Boy Color for free when one of the buttons stopped working.

Attached: linkle_inquisitive.webm (480x700, 3M)

Exactly. Nintendo makes shit controllers.

>different joysticks
That's the fucking point, the Nintendo sticks are ass. They are cheaply manufactured there's no getting around it.

I bought a second pair of Joycons to match the ones I got with the neon so I could have a full red and blue set.
The second set I bought I never really touched until I got MHGU, and the sticks were already drifting even though I had never used the controllers before, they just sat in their box on a shelf.
Its a hardware defect, they really should have replaced the sticks. There is a reason why Nintendo is offering to replace all joycons for free no questions asked if its related to drifting. They wouldn't be doing that if it wasn't their fault.

Attached: 555-come-on-now.jpg (600x375, 38K)

The joycons get dust and shit in them which causes them to drift. The reason nintendo is open to fixing them is because all it takes to fix is a squirt of contact cleaner and leaving it to dry for an hour.

The one autist claiming it's because it has a part that degrades over time is basing it off one redditor who took one joy con apart (not multiple different joy cons just one) and had a look inside, and it wasn't the first time he had taken that specific controller apart either so he probably broke it himself with his earlier tinkering

He couldnt resist the onions face. I fucking laughed

>Nintendo eating the cost of prepaid shipping labels to spray contact cleaner in joycons just because
>its totally not a hardware defect or anything wrong with the joycons, the insanely high failure rate and frequency of this issue is because everyone just doesn't know how to take care of a controller!

Attached: 1200x630bb.jpg (630x630, 63K)

Free Joycon fix only applies to joycons, not the lite itself.

man its weird how this looks like porn when its cropped.

Then clean your fucking room, Jimmy.

Attached: Soy warrior.jpg (1475x1475, 488K)

It's poorly designed but you're a brainlet if you think nintendo is actually replacing parts instead of getting interns to remove the dust

Yeah, but as know, Linkle isn't for the lewds. She's a good girl!

Attached: linkle_smirks.png (460x600, 355K)

Every discussion should have an advocate for the other side.

do they make 3rd party joycon stick replacements yet or do you have to just keep buying oem shit

Attached: 1539327798243.jpg (1682x1204, 479K)

I'm not denying they might just be cleaning and it could be a quick fix, but I'm saying its a legitimate problem that is their fault.
I've had brand new joycons that I've never used before drift straight out of the box, thats not me mistreating my brand-new never used joycons, thats a design flaw.

Imagine having such a mental health problem that you has to bring your gameboy to a war zone just to fix your gaymer anciaite

My wife cleans the house everyday, living in a rural area with dirt roads doesn't help.
Again with this shit? This user is right, I remember that reddit retard that broke the tabs and couldn't put it together properly.

I'm actually super stoked about that Phantasy Star re-release

Entirely Nintendo's fault. I'm surprised they keep using the same shitty design when it's clear what's causing the problem, fucking stubborn retards.

Okay one, kinda right on the aluminum but if you know about it going in and don't immediately attempt to tear it in half, you should be fine. The real issue is that there's this type of glue that is used in the joycon that if you take to long or touch it to much, complety ruins the vibrations, and I have absolutly no idea where to buy it from.

The thing is, the problem isn't with the design of the sticks. The Vita and 3DS use the same basic design. It's with the thickness of the conductive membrane, which only needs to be changed by microns to be fixed, not enough to get noticed by the naked eye during a teardown.

Wait a month or so, and if unresponsive stick reports start popping up again, THEN we can start laughing at how inept Nintendo is.

>drift doesn't start to happen to me until I played Astral Chain
>tried doing various shit to fix it until I caved in and bought some contact cleaner
>spread it into the little flap in the joycon and it fixed my issue
Unless you're retarded with electronics, try the other methods posted online for fixing joycon drift before you send it out to Nintendo

buy doors for your barn user

This pic has Quentin written all over it even though he probably would hate the Switch just as much as the 3DS

>try voiding your warranty before sending it in for repairs

Haha what the fuck, I aint buying this shit then thats bullshit

Nintendo will repair joycon drift for free regardless

Why the fuck are you using the joycons? Use a fucking pro-controller.

Why would anyone buy the new scuffed lite version in the first place?

Attached: 1569107608809.jpg (540x385, 26K)

our lord and savior quentin would never white knight the switch

>She's also basedpilled on me and redpilled on other guys so I'm safe.
What the fuck are you even trying to say? I think Yea Forums has rotted your brain.

Sue Nintendo! Make sony buy them!

I wanted it because I dont use a TV in the first place and it has the better battery life but if I cant just use it without breaking it in 2 months whats the point

>better battery life
the current dockable version has better battery life than the lite.
It goes Docked revision > Lite > Original revision.

I didn't even touch the rumble motors so I wouldn't know, I broke one tab on my first attempt, I used a drop of epoxy glue and let it dry and it works perfectly now, I'd recommend not touching anything else.

Cause their kid wants to play pokemon and its $100 cheaper and they won't lose the little controllers

Switch is one of my favourite consoles but it is a flimsy badly made piece of hardware that is a light step above chinese bootlegs.

They aren't paid, they just do it for free.

Took care of my switch since day one and it's just now drifting up. It'll happen to them all, it's just a matter of time.

>She's also basedpilled on me and redpilled on other guys so I'm safe.

Shill detected

I have a launch DS4 that I use often for PC gayman, the only problem I've ever had is the rubber membrane behind the dpad fucking tearing apart

Using compressed air or contact cleaners won't void your warranty (I mean if shit like dust, dead skin and dandruff can gradually collect in there, it stands to reason that a little volatile liquid won't be a problem) but opening up the joycon to replace the sticks will likely do it and is generally suggested as a last resort.

i've gone through several xbox controllers
switch controllers are shit
but my ps3 controllers still last

Im so confused when everyone complains about joy stick drift, I use my switch a fuck ton, and I havnt noticed it. I have had it since launch.

Attached: EEIJY1SUEAI-bdg.png (228x192, 71K)

Not sure if it matters or not, but the analog sticks are at least superficially different, though compatible with the original joycon. The article is being a bit disingenuous for the sake of clicks I'd assume. No surprises here.

>I use my switch a fuck ton, and I havnt noticed it.
Then you probably don't have it you dingus.
Its basically just ghosting that you can't stop, the joysticks will just jitter outside of the deadzone randomly which makes some games completely unplayable.

>dude just replace the sticks yourself
Fuck that noise, i shouldn't have to put in more work because someone cheaped out on parts

Youve never had to play an intensive game like splatoon or Smash then

no, i'm not retarded

Sadly, it is, dust will always find a way in, after cleaning it the first time I only took them out when I wanted to play, I tried to keep everything as clean as possible, but still, no more than a year later one started drifting, followed by the other one in the next few weeks.

I have been repairing electronics for years so it is no more than an annoyance for me, but that doesn't make it less of a problem, not everyone specialises in that and no one should be caring that much for a fucking handheld, even more so when they market it as a "take it anywhere", even the fucking beach. Fuck them.

What kind of retard plays smash with the joycons

>homebrew and connected to wifi
how have you not been banned yet?

>Just buy another controller bro

But the tabletop mode is what's really awesome.
Just get a 3months old used one for the same price. Much better bang for the buck

Attached: Nintendo.png (1485x1465, 3.22M)

Incognito scrambles your switch information

>he knows
>SHUT IT DOWN, SHUT THE FUCKING SIMULATION DOWN NOW

Thats kinda my fucking point, I should be able to play the game with the default controller, not pay for another one because its so shit for it
I literally play fighting games with an Xbox One controller I've had for 2 years and it works perfectly

>he doesn't know

Attached: 537473638472417.jpg (500x543, 81K)

Your PS4 controller probably has better protection against dust accumulating in it's circuits. Xbox controllers seemingly don't and the Switch joycons have these little rubber flaps underneath you can easily lift with something like a toothpick which most likely explains how so many people are getting drift this easily.

Attached: ulbdTMz[1].jpg (1391x1043, 117K)

I love that they're using spawnwave's video and taking his "same analog sticks" comment out of context, when he was actually referring to the fact that he bought a Switch Lite Analog Stick (by itself) on ebay or Amazon or some shit two weeks ago and was actually comparing it to that.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 93K)

For the original switch it's mandatory, The dock will scratch the fuck out of your screen otherwise.

Parents don't give a fuck user, this one is smaller, cheaper, looks less breakable, and has less parts to lose.

Nintendo is literally releasing this for Pokemon.
They've released a bunch of cheaper versions of handhelds a few months before big pokemon releases

>The dock will scratch the fuck out of your screen otherwise.
Maybe if you just jam it in like a retard, also it doesn't really scratch the screen it'll scratch the bezel which is whatever, but still just don't jam it into the dock recklessly.
If you're really concerned buy a cheap bit of felt and glue it inside the dock or something.

My 14 year old xbox 360 controller still worked and tells me to tell you to suck its dick
Even my 6 years old one controller works great and I've flung them at the wall so many times droped them

Fuck Nintendo garbage

Sometime same fucking day.

Attached: Nintendo-2DS-Blue.jpg (1000x1000, 56K)

The Switch lite is by default the objectively worse purchase even if joycon issues weren't a thing.

8. get aids

that thing was my favorite. i only upgraded because xenoblade wouldnt play on it, but that is the 2ds i hacked and the one i use for my emulation stuff. it was also my dedicated smash 4 controller, even on the wiiu i hooked up that thing

I don’t understand. I have a fucking launch unit and my joycon analog sticks are fine. Are people overblowing this shit, or retardedly breaking the sticks themselves?

Attached: 868E0DE7-AF87-4909-9639-579BE3B9882A.png (636x440, 104K)

Doesn't happen to everybody, but does have a very high incidence rate.
In the same way my launch 360 hasn't redringed, it isn't like it didn't happen, even to people who haven't abused their shit.

ALL console sticks are pile of trash because they use fucking friction based resistive sensors.

I still kind of want one, if only for the novelty of the form factor.

Good job on that one, user. Still hard to believe it got so many replys.
Heres your well earned (you)

They are genuinely pretty fucking comfy, much more ergonomic than I would expect a wedge of cheese to feel.

my launch unit has been sitting on the dock in the same position almost the entire time ive owned it, but i went to play fire emblem in another room and it was drifting

Might put it on the to-do list then. I've already got a N3DS that I never use and far too many normal DSes for my own good, but there's something about that absurd form factor.

It is a physical issue related to cheap manufacturing and design. The contact points WILL wear out. Had drift after 3 months of use etc. Fuck off.

can't hurt, pretty sure you can get a 2ds for like $50.

>mfw onions latte

>buying gamefreak's shit
I hope she fucks tyrone behind your back

What even is joycon drift? I don't understand it, I mostly use the pro controller in docked.

the left stick picks a direction and constantly moves in it even in neutral

Mine was drifting from normal gameplay. Though I let the controller sit in a drawer for a few months and it magically started working again.

t. retard

I haven't had any drift yet, but the joysticks are an absolute piece of shit. Letting them return to center, even slowly, often has them misreport their position on the other side of the fucking field. When I was lining up jumps in AC, my astral fucking loved just randomly jumping right back at me. In LA, doing the floor tile puzzles was a complete fucking trainwreck because they don't let you use the D-pad for anything.

I really hate these controllers. I think they're one of the most poorly designed things Nintendo has ever put out, at least the N64 sticks were good for a year or a week if you played Mario Party. Not to mention the never-ending examples of a character continuing to run after I've let off on the stick because of how shit the wireless connection is.

>Cult of Nintendo thinks this

How do peoples joycons mess up? I use my pro controller probably 60% of the time but my launch joycons still work properly.

wash your hands after eating cheetos you fat fucks

I suck my fingers after eating cheetos, so joke's on you lad.

I let my cat lick the cheeto dust off

>dollars on a bunch of replacements.
>It's not hard to replace them, thankfully.
imagine paying 80 dollar on joycon and having to spend time changing sticks every few months and still defending nintendo.

Thing actually has a pretty fair amount of nintendium, enough that casual play and keeping your console clean will keep it chooching along. JerryRigEverything's opinion after a fairly comprehensive stress-test was "get a screen protector, but it won't break unless you're trying to break the thing" last I recall.

it literally does

they have to disassemble the entire console housing to replace the stick because there aren't removable controllers

that's obnoxious, but it makes sense

imagine being such an omega sperg that you try to shit on soldiers in a warzone for playing a gameboy

>Hekate 5.0.2 won't even let me boot into Atmosphere 0.9.4 even with sept updated

>I've done so many do-overs at this point and made so many backups that every single problem is emotionally debilitating and I don't want to even touch my Switch or all the games I've bought for it
I just wanted to install some delisted free demos man. I wasn't pirating anything. This is one of the most absolutely frustrating experiences I've had in years and whenever something mildly frustrating happens in real life it just compounds with this and I get a migraine and can't do anything all day, and I try to do this on the rare day I have off.

so does the revision switch fix this drifting shit?

>analog sticks
I thought the problem was with the d-pad?

No. I fucking hate the fact that I have to do this, but I have no other option, due to losing the receipt (Aus, so the free repair isn't a thing).
getting it sent in for repair is almost as expensive as buying new ones, and knowing the replacements are going to fail a year later makes repairing them myself the only worthwhile option.

No, the joysticks randomly jitter outside of the deadzone giving ghosting style inputs even when you aren't touching the controller.
When you are touching the controller it'll still fuck with your inputs. Its just a hardware defect, it doesn't always happen to joycons, but a lot of them have been getting it.

apple users are such clowns

then why is it nintendo controllers that are breaking so much
are nintendo fans really so much dumber than playstation and xbox fans

Manchildren mishandle their Switch and the joycons break
My launch Switch joycons are still fine and have zero drift.

This is fucking pathetic if true. Drift is common issue, I have it on my joy con and I am sick of it. It's fucking annoying.

I bought a Switch Lite yesterday, along with Mario Odyssey and Marvel UA3.

My current setup doesn't really work for a tv console, and I love the idea it being like a GBA2....but I'm honestly not really happy. It's pretty small.

UA3 feels like a downscaled mess, like I'm playing a PSP game that was downscaled from a console,

Mario looks great, but when I look at it I feel like, wow this would look even better on a tv.

I think Pokemon will work well on it. I might get Dragon Quest when it comes out next week. I'll probably use it for RPGs, but beyond that I'm kinda disappointed.

yeah I pirated and played 15% through it and it was great, im happy to buy the defintivie edition, it'll work great portable. The digimon cyber sleuth collection next month too, and then pokemon, so it'll be a great device for all those games.

Yikes. Why do you own 4 of them?

except for the library of games

Attached: 1546583730825.gif (138x132, 37K)

It wasn't the games either. The fucking marketing was SHIT.

Everyone who came over to play mine said this as the first thing:

I didn't know it was a new system. I thought it was just a screen addon for the wii

After scratching my DS screen with the stylus it came with back in high school, I now slap screen protectors on all my portable devices. Even if today's products are more scratch resistant than ever with gorilla glass and whatnot, tempered glass can act as a secondary shock absorber to save your screen from shattering after an accidental bump or drop, and it happens to the best of us. It's always worth it.

What? I got the smaller one so that I can use it portable comfortably. The larger one sits in the dock retard.

Nintendo are in much more dire financial straits than Yea Forums (NintendoGAF) is willing to admit. They are using cheap parts and taking so many shortcuts with the Switch Lite because they literally can't afford to do otherwise.

If you're a clumsy mongoloid, sure. Most of us have control over our limbs.

>still trying to force this meme

Whats the game on the lite?

>+1 game
Why?

nintendofag cope

Why do things never change? Nintendo always builds their consoles with shitty patented parts which means if something breaks (it usually does, since they do it as cheap as possible) your only options are to:
>pay Nintendo through the nose for replacement parts
>send it off to Nintendo, also pay through the nose
>risk it and buy "replacement" parts from a Hong Kong seller on ebay
>risk it and give it the guy in your local repair shop who needs a YouTube video
At least I could easily buy a new joycon for the Switch without the whole system being fucked.

I fucking warned you people not to buy switch lite for this exact fucking reason and you all laughed at me.

There's a big difference between opening up some joycons and having to open up the entire fucking thing.

Not only did they stop using nintendium after the original ds but even when they were still using it their was precedent for Nintendo controllers having stick problems with the 64

Omg can’t wait to give up the ability for it to be a home console! Yaaaay!

Remember when we thought the dock was going to boost the graphical output of games and give it some extra processing power, and then it turned out a bunch of games ran better not docked? Lol well now you can erase that embarrassment forever by removing the ability to even have to option of tv play! You’re welcome, gamers!

One of my co-workers had a fucked stick but didn't dare to change it despite ordering a new one and the needed screwdrivers.
Took me five minutes tops to change it, he gave me $30 for that so thanks Nintendo I guess

ITT Nintendo controllers require a monthly tune-up

i don’t get this “i don’t have a tv meme” do you idiots not realize a monitor and some speakers work just fine? how poor are some of you fucking losers that you don’t even have a monitor with hdmi.

Can confirm, I had the same problem with mine when it started drifting. Haven't had issues since.

That and I'm poor ;_;

Attached: f.jpg (700x500, 16K)

>how poor are some of you fucking losers that you don’t even have a monitor with hdmi

Don't even need that, I had an old ass monitor I didn't use and a cable that allowed me to hook it up to my switch cost me like 20 euros. And I just plug my headphones into the switch whenever I play.

>now both nintendo and nokia sell faulty stock at full price
i hate all companies

To everyone confused about how some peoples joycons are drifting, just remember, only Americans get theirs fixed for free because it literally only happens to them. Their gigantic greasy hands and their literal autism to play games like smash and Splatoon with the joycons is why so many of them have this problem.

>he doesn't change his controller's oil

>upgrade
>still has a fuckhuge bezel
>D-Pad confirmed to be a shit for fightan games

Hi boomer

>switch is meant for children*
ftfy

One thing no one ever mentions about the Switch lite that I just can't stand is the fucking minus button being placed all the way on the left side. I understand why it was done with joycons, it gave some parity between the two for when they're used as individual controllers, but why the fuck would you do this with the handheld version? Why the fuck can't you put Plus and Minus--Or hell, you know what they are, START AND SELECT--right next to each other in a place that's actually easy to reach? Fuck, this is the one reason I'm not buying a Switch lite.

Is it just the joycons or the pro as well?

Nah, library was fine too my dude, probably still has more exclusives than both the PS4 and Xbone combined if you don't count games that were ported to the switch

The marketing was just terrible, and the name was a fucking mistake. Most parents thought it was just a special controller for the Wii that looked way too expensive, they had no idea it was a whole new console.

>shave your pubes
fuck off homo

>the revised switch which has no drifting problems
Was this ever confirmed?

(You)

Why don't you just send them in and get a repair for free? It's retarded that it happens but my brother just got his back and didn't pay a cent.

retard

>send controller in
>go without a controller for weeks
>it just breaks again from the same issue

Nah, changing a circle pad is easy, you can just fix the console by yourself.

Attached: 1512977307492.jpg (240x498, 21K)

The sticks suck, objectively so.

why isn't my screen scratched after a year of owning a switch?

How is the D-pad? Clicky or squishy?

so for the original switch, if i buy new joycons ill be okay?

same here, I play some plataformers too but I also use the directional buttons for those, so the drifting doesn't really matter me.

post the un-cropped version then.

Joycons have never been fixed or modified whoever tells you otherwise is lying. The sticks from day 1 joycons compared to the new color joycons are exactly the same.

For fuck’s sake

Dumbass

No, they aren’t, the sticks are LITERALLY the same, stop lying.

how can you live in all that filth?

i still don't understand what joy con drifting is. is it when the analog stick is being moved in one direction even though you're not pressing it? like the shit that happens with EVERY controller? all i do was disconnect and reconnect the joy cons and they work again.

Why would any Switch owner die in a car crash?

Attached: 1569125678637.png (636x601, 458K)

what is this retarded design decision where it just looks like a switch tablet set into a frame that also happens to house the controllers. It still doesn't look like a single coherent unit.

why whats wrong with them

It has a more efficient processor but smaller battery. It nets a longer battery life but switchv2 has longer battery overall.

Surprise, you bought cheap, chinese plastic and got tricked into paying top dollar, for what is only probably 4$ worth of raw material, with all the labor being done by machine to boot.

yeah, i got it june of 2017 and the only issue was that my left? joycon had trouble with wireless but it stopped a few days later

they didn't bother redesigning MB, it's pretty much the same(with minor changes and adding integrated controls) so they can't save space. But hey at least they removed Video Out.

They can, they just know using off shelf components will bring them more money, why bother when you can just repurpose tablet hardware,

Should have gone with 3DS style slider pads.

ITT
>I expected my $100 cheaper device with less functionality to have improvements

I wish they had even for the stock console, those things are every bit as good as an analog stick and it would've helped the portability of joycons.

Fucking hell, most of my friends use cheapo pc pads and they work well for years. I myself have Logitech Chillstream from 2000s and it still work well. Only thing is the fan is rattling and doesn't cool anymore(can turn it off so no big deal). How the fuck console devs can fuckup their main input device so bad.

This this this so much

Kiketendo uses all the shittiest components now. Theres a reason people dont say nintendium anymore

you retard, Lawyers arent scared of big corporations if they have a solid case, it means tons of money for them why would they pass that?

nintendo's lawyer power-level is far greater than any civilian lawyer you could find

class actions lawsuits are too small for a single lawyer, you go to a firm for those,

dumbasses going on about drift aside, the joycons sticks just feel fucking shit compared to a full size stick like you get on the pro controller, they're small and short.

i believe you
an irl friend of mine has the same problem

>smaller screen

lite is for autists that cannot fucking stand the idea of a switch that can, well, switch, and want it to be purely one or the other

alternatively it's for people that want another game boy, and since they're using a handheld they're assumedly not going to be hugely nitpicky about screen size/resolution like Yea Forums is (or vastly overblow any display problems as lItErAlLy UnPlAyAbLe) so it saves them a hunsky on switch games

You mean for them, right? Nintendo always sell their consoles at profit, so they probably used even cheaper components.

yes

>it's not nintendos fault if you manchildren unleash your rage on the hardware
BASED

Attached: 1556843223376.jpg (2048x1529, 498K)

The components are near-identical to a stock Switch and any profit is probably from streamlining the manufacturing process, new availability of certain parts, yadda yadda on the existing parts getting cheaper; profit-margin on the original Switch in March of '17 was ~$50 per-unit tech.nikkeibp.co.jp/dm/atcl/column/15/363874/032700069/

Stock Switch is probably more profitable just due to the higher price-point but I imagine they're still turning enough of a profit that they feel comfortable selling the Lite at what they do

Literally a downgrade.

imagine being this much of a tendie drone

imagine being a complete retard on purpose so you can get away with "dab on them tendies *dab*" posts

Not unless you regularly take your Switch out in public, which you shouldn't. Portability is a meme, just browse Yea Forums on your phone like every other user.

Honestly, if Nintendo handled their account system a bit better then I wouldn't mind having my launch switch at home and the lite as a portable one.

Problem is, their cloud saving still isn't great and account system is still pretty stupid. Maybe if Nintendo does some stuff in the future to fix it I will consider it, but right now I have no desire.

I did that for like a year but broke eventually.

I got burned on the New 3DS (its increased specs aren't anything to write home about and you get tremendously more value out of the thing if you're using pirate programs to force it to run everything better instead of only N3DS-exclusive titles) so I have absolutely no interest in a Switch that will probably have marginally better specs.
