Because DCSS is superior.

But I am I fucking love playing possessors

>greatly revised summoners
In what way? Kinda hope it gets rid of the summon timers

no clue, notes are both long and vague, haven't changed all the classes yet. the vim rework is pretty good so far.

I also see they might finally buff ghouls and are making big changes to archers

Darkgod came back to life? I thought he had died. Maybe i'll play again for the first time in awhile, I got burned out and haven't launched it for some time.

Yeah he is doing a lot of rework stuff and under the hood engine changes, as well as working on another DLC.

i like sucking people off as the revised doomed
new dark sustenance is great

>Revise Antimagic
>Revise saves
>Revise archers
Dafuq is this changelog? What do these even entail?

rebalancing

am i a bad person for playing on exploration mode?

I finally completed my insane run. I want a break from the game.

Some people will judge you, but I think the game is worth playing even for people who don't enjoy permadeath, i don't see anything wrong with having it as an option. It's still a challenge.

>the vim rework is pretty good so far.
Tell me more. I've always hated vim characters with a passion, mostly due to their resource management.

I really liked my first 3 characters, but having to replay the exact same maps felt kinda boring, specially when you're purely grinding. This was a very long time ago, no idea if th eupdates have changed much.

Race/Class?

Vim recovery scales with willpower now as well as scales based on the rank of your target. The refund Vim on kill mechanic is gone. The bloodcasting shit is baseline now, so you can cast using HP instead of Vim for 200% cost in HP. So it improves rate of recovery of vim without always trying to get refund kills, and gives you the option to dip into your health pool in emergencies.

I agree that the overworld gets boring, but I like the locations and the procgen feels unique enough for each of the settings. You can also roll some of the weird races and classes if you want an alternate start, like yeek or one of the fearscape classes. I play infinite dungeon a lot whenever I get bored of the campaign. I just like ToME because of the skill system, classes, and the way you can build characters.

Skelly Temporal Warden

Does this come with the new classes he talked about in the dev notes?

>The bloodcasting shit is baseline now, so you can cast using HP instead of Vim for 200% cost in HP
this change alone might make me play them
One of the DLC's is a whole new campaign

pretty sure the DLC classes are still DLC

I mean the dust mage and the other stuff he talked about. I thought that was the next donator class.

>advertising "no consumables" as a key feature

Yeah, no thanks.

I'm pretty sure they are the next expansion classes

lol fuck no. dcss is unplayable dogshit. even base dungeon crawl from the 90s is better.

Angband, Dwarf Fortress, Diablo 1+2, Binding of Isaac

Can't be as bad as me where I kinda cheat with that adventuring party mod which makes it almost impossible to actually lose since if you die you can just have someone else resurrect you

>he wants to clutter up his inventory with a fuckton of useless potions scrolls and other junk he'll never use
Seriously I kinda hated the idea as well at first but the inscription system is actually really cool and now it's even getting an update

You mean before the trannies took over. Current DCSS is terrible.

>Binding of Isaac

Not a roguelike

If you don't understand what consumables bring to roguelikes you don't play many

Honestly I doubt that many people even play tome with permadeath on

Only one and a half of those games is a roguelike

There are still active items in the game though, in addition to skills.

Some people find mechanics like potion/scroll identification and hunger clocks limiting, it's fine if you don't like it. Doesn't make it a bad game though.
