Would it change the game too much if you were able to fast travel through areas you've cleared of enemies and have fully explored?

Wait, i'm confused about something in expedition
Aren't Lemurians human? What's all this shit Todd is going on about with subislanders and shit?
Or is Todd a liar?

I don't understand, why would they not be human?

Lemurians moved to the area and merged with the native subislanders. Both races are human - until the subislanders started a riot in abyssal station and injected themselves with space serpent dust.

>dominating
>no crafting
could you do it? i don't mean me, i mean you.

I'm still not entirely clear on what the implications were. Partly because I missed the Yngwar dialogue. Did it just drive them to insanity?

Lemurians are the natives, the subislanders are Atlanteans.

Is it too late to talk to Yngwar? I'm in abyss station zero and I have genocided the natives, but I don't remember stabbing a guy by that name

>Is it too late to talk to Yngwar?
Nope.

Not sure. I wasn't able to talk to him because I didn't have the right stats for it. Presumably he tells you quite a bit though.

What are good initial psi skills?

Anyone knows where i can find Ezra's doppelganger?

You need 7 Will and 35 Thought Control to summon him with Biolocation.

>have 7.62 spearhead sniper
>load it with W2C rounds
>go against master exploder in arena
>the cunt throws a pyrokinesis, molotov, and shoots me once
>use psycho temporal contraction, aimed shot which drains most of his health and normal attack to finish him in single turn

slightly anti-climatic but I didn't know I could even do that

Attached: 1511142305419.jpg (640x695, 38K)

What will 1000 stygs get me? Also, is Styg to the North, West etc?

Styg is the universal currency
SGS is only used in SGS i think
Theres also that other currency but i cant remember where its used

Ice bolt, cryostasis, Force field, that kinetic ability that stuns, fear

United Station Dollars for Protecterate merchants

When's Styg's psi nerf patch coming?

>Styg's psi nerf patch
pls no, my wizard is fragile enough at the start

probably because he's mind-controlling me

>He's a Willet
>He didn't resist him at the start

So, Is styg north from SGS?

he should buff firearm pistols and crossbows before nerfing other things

>WAAAAAAAH PSI PLAYERS AREN'T HAVING ALL THE SAME PROBLEMS AS ME!!!! WWAAAAAAAAH!!!!!
Underrail will never be the competitive game you want it to be.

He never cared about what others think of him, why would it be different for you?

Oh hey look, the absolutely last thing I should do in here.

Attached: 20190921204225_1.jpg (1366x768, 159K)

psi should be nerfed before he touches anything else
its such a glaring imbalance

>thinking you know what ezra thinks

>make the game easier

hey quick question for anyone that knows.
Been watching a bit of JoJo lately and I've been getting real interested in Underrail
Is there any way to focus into a build that turns anything into bombs? And not just crafting magnesium bombs I'm talking psy-shit too.

oh look, yet another psi nerd who cries if he can't have an OP character

Threadly reminder that biocorp did nothing wrong

Nerf Psi so that enemy Psi users aren't so fucking dangerous compared to literally every other enemy in the game.

biocorp did literally everything wrong

What barrel should I go with for my first sniper rifle? Thinking of using 12.7mm but it looks like those are uncommon bullets.

Not really unless you consider putting enough resistances to yeet bombs under your feet as a combat tactic.

You can make magic kenshiro though

Lemurians and Subislanders fled to Abyss Station after getting btfo by Biocorp. They lived together on the station for a while but Subislanders grow increasingly claustrophobic in the environment and they eventually started a riot that separated them to two parts of the station.

The subislanders occupied the R&D area which contained the black monolith. Eventually the scientist there decided to inject themselves with Flotsommir-label space dust as they were under influence of space leviathan through that monolith.

The leviathan-infested subislanders went back to the surface and after several generations devolved into unga bungas. They huff powders and undergo rituals involving getting vored by sea serpents.

The Lemurians are left stranded on the station and numbers slowly fell off. By the time you arrive Todd is the last of his kind, his family is dead, his wife miscarried as a result of generations of inbreeding, and Todd himself being completely crazy due to years of solitude.

is temporal manipulation any good?

Attached: brother assassin 0001.jpg (1065x1600, 348K)

What was the Casus Belli between Biocorp and NFT?

Yes.
I regret not getting the Expansion as well just for it.

Opinions on a tincan psi? Basically just an immobile turret that shoots insane spells.
How good is it?

>Magic Kenshiro
I'm interested. What should I build for that?

>Jack sells a Hurricane crossbow for 3000 stugs
>Only marginally better than original one
Are crossbows universaly shit?

Attached: 1b434113.jpg (1280x720, 67K)

biocorp was too psychopathic to allow a rival to exist

You can kill somebody so hard that he doesn't even have time to heal up.

Just be yourself man something focused on unarmed and psi, ignore hammer wizard meme

They also had no issue using some pretty horrific chemical weapons against their enemies.

>psi build
>depot a
>having pretty much no problem at all
>accidentally chain three separate fights into one
>still win without a sweat

>any other build
>depot a
>reload at least 20 times
what did styg mean?

It means you suck at this game without easy mode

It's a support school, most of its abilities don't require high effective skill to be good. The slow, haste, and stasis abilities are super good even if you only have 3 WIL.

I've had opposite experience, but that was partially because stars aligned and gave me materials for a riot armor so good that I was being damaged exclusively by acid muties and that those two hammer and crossbow niggas.

Redpill me on crossbows please.

I haven't gone pure Psi but you could probably opt for 3 Con, get 8 Strength (put another point in later for Tungsten). You'd want 10 Will, Agi and Dex I don't think will matter so you can dump that into Int for the extra Psi regen. Be sure to grab TM Contraction and Sprint.

IS IT BECAUSE IT HAS SO MANY DEBUFFS?

>everything has long cooldowns
>only real bonus is CC and damage
>the "most busted" part of it eats your health when used

>deadly snares

that's the gist of it

Nah, the supercorps did business together and stepped on each other intermittently; but conflicts of that scale couldn't have been frequent when things were swell. Something must have sparked it; I don't believe that, even cut loose, their navy would just up and decide to raze a NFT biome like that.
Though we also never learnt why Lemuria was hidden away before the quake revealed it.

Perish.

yah, biocorp did stupid and evil shit until it became too much and they collapsed then they kept doing more stupid and evil shit until they collapsed againand now the protectorate is too

Fast travel should only exist as an ingame explanation like trains and boat rides

You can cheese absolutely all encounters up to finishing Depot A with psi just by abusing doors. You can easily kill the lunatics south of GMS compound this way.

Noob here.

How many skills into traps is too much?

If there's a 20 agi jump at fetid marsh I wouldn't be surprised if there were a 20 per hidden spot hidden somewhere that no one has ever uncovered

we must enhance our autism brothers

5 layers of impenetrable bear traps. Although I don't know of any area having more than 3.

I threw a molo on myself and stood in it, it just came from the heavens like god's fist and penetraed my boypussy not giving a shit about the fire

Is there a reason to use tactical vest over riot gear?
t. resistlet

Armor penalty.

>having high int now gives you a shield blueprint
What patch was that?

What's behind this 20 AGI check?

A 20 STR check.

The patch where Mercantile scales off INT so you can pick one off any trader, plus the components, for like 100 stygs.

>20 per secret
>it's a skeleton with a 5mm pistol, a rathound barbecue, and a health hypo

I cant install mines without certain level of skill?

Oh you can, enemies will just spot and avoid them.

Okay so why does the shadow realm try and kick your ass when you steal the acorn?

Made an oddity.

Attached: pipeworker.jpg (477x477, 40K)

Because stealing from your host is very rude.

I'm starting to think stealing whatever the fuck this thing is was a really bad idea.

They are both humans, the thing is, the game reference to a set of people who had very good disposition into living underwater, and working there, forever. They are called the atlateans, they were basically a subdivision of the super corporation to be conditioned to work on that environment for them. Subislanders were just the original ground lemurians, not necessarily unga bungas but just the ground land scientists, who went insane because of the magical rock.

Is electronics worth getting to 25 for scopes? Im already going chem, hacking, biology, traps, stealth, crossbows and evasion

Attached: 4890f26c.jpg (1280x1158, 214K)

>evasion

Yes.

Whats wrong with evasion?

Attached: 4f95da44.jpg (692x862, 63K)

I port to the Gray army base just to listen to the music.

The acorn are godman technology, the stone are evil leviathans psi gods who hate them

Something else don't make sense, how did toby lived so long? Wasn't the whole affair like 300+ years? That kinda seem a bit low for the unga bunga to evolve too

Electronics is always worth it, 2000 capacity shields are a serious game changer.

Nothing, you just skip a good portion the most cancerous map in the game.

Where do you find a home for Todd? I feel bad leaving the dunce in the middle of nowhere.

What to scrap then desu? Cant max em all.

Bio is probably least important, or evasion

Attached: 1568967788576.png (522x472, 46K)

Evasion, Bio is more useful.

>choose play underrail
>actually start playing underrail

do you even know about drugs

I did it before, I did it again
It just need dedication and autism

If you guys think Psi is broken wait until you discover player ability to go venomous floor nigger

The Chad Psichopath
>1v1 fights are impossible to lose
>on-demand immunity to all CC
>can make entire rooms of enemies fight each other
>the answer to any problem in the game is in his brain
>doesn't give a shit about armor penalty
>maxed craft skills because he needs nothing else
>doesn't even need to max his offense skills

The Virgin Ranged Gun
>needs goggles just to hit things

>guns 160 (323)
>probably dipped into TM just to get another attack because his last one missed
>subterfuge

I feel like I know the answer to this already, but once you do the thing the expedition is there for, does the camp go? I feel like it would've been too much effort for them to actually pack up and leave so they'll just be packing until you chose a main game ending.
Still got things to do, natives to kill

>Everyone playing tin can or psi wiz
Where are the real big brain builds lads?

10+INT crafting builds of course.

this has some psi, but its mainly utility

It can handle everything in the game except lore checks.

Attached: machete slayer.png (1585x630, 113K)

Oh I just tested it Yeah they're fuckin gone.

Non psi are retards
Pure psi are edgy faggots

Play as a hybrid

My first several playthroughs were non-psi, which is why I'm so good at this game now, I suspect.

>I feel like it would've been too much effort for them to actually pack up and leave
>wanting to stay in a place with
>pirates, killer natives, psi crabs and all sort of other cancer fauna and no way to replenishing your resources other than cross said deadly fauna

The only reason the pirates are alive is because they are a bunch of dumb ass ignorant lucky pipeworkers, or else they would have been wiped long ago too

>He doesn't want to be a magic flinging madman
Cringe

Now try a build without psi AND throwing(that included caltrops)

I take throwing is more broken than psi only for the fact you are limited by the amount you can have on you

I meant effort on styg's part to remove all the assets
I should have done a little less asking and a little more trying because yeah, they do shove off, immediately.

I have; crossbow.

The virgin meta build
>has 3 will, still uses PSI for muh utility despite the character being clearly mentally weak
>10 con 3 strength, despite it not making any sense that a healthy, resilient person wouldn't also be strong
>3 dex, still knows lockpicking

The chad roleplaying build
>only levels skills that are governed by stats with a value of 5 or higher
>levels STR along with CON as both as they're both heavily correlated in real life
>doesn't level crafting skills at all if INT is less than 5 (because the character is a retard)
>doesn't take psi pill if Will is less than 5

>Implying I'm not
I'm the best of both worlds

chaddest build is a 3 18 10 3 3 5 6 knifer
based

my machete build does that, if you dont mind the str 7/con 3 (fitting for something like an acrobat though)

>the character is a retard
>not only solve every fucking one issues, but can exterminate the entire underrail if he so please

The character is a godman

wait, what's that sound?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH

Attached: 20190921221044_1.jpg (1366x768, 190K)

How the fuck does crafting work. The shield emitter I made after dumping 200 points into crafting stats and buying all the shit for my basement isn't any better than the one I looted and it uses a 120 quality plasma core and 131 quality base. The armor I made with 131 Tungsten isn't any better than the pair I bought from the store. Is there some secret I'm missing.

>try to build an effective character

Try reading the item descriptions.
1 sgs credit = 10 value
1 coin = 30 value
1 protectorate buck = 50 value

You should do it first. If you didn't screw up your build, Psi can handle it no problems.

Actually, bodybuilders are unhealthy as fuck and can die of heart attacks at an early age because they don't do any cardio, so high STR low CON is realistic.

spearhead can't use 12.7m

It checks out.

Attached: Untitled.png (262x207, 4K)

There is diminishing returns at certain points, having high crafting skill don't mean your shit will come back better, it just means you can work with better quality material, check for the wiki for all the best in slot for every item.

I know how you feel, user. But such is the way of underrail.

Every choice you make feels like you've fucked yourself, but as you go on you start to realize that the only time you're fucked is when you've given up.

Anons here keep telling me psi is some over-powered god build that obliterates everything, but I have yet to see how.
Still, I trudge on.

Sell me on your fun builds

>craftinglet
heh

In addition to this it's mostly the optional components and extra stat bonuses that are the best hallmarks of crafted gear.
You sure those were the best qualities you could get? Have you accessed special merchandise lists on any vendors?

Attached: matlevels.jpg (76x806, 21K)

I take points as I need them, and I have yet to find anything big.

> thick skull perk+high detection and high initiative/stun grenades
> stealth+high detection so you can set up traps before the fight even starts to keep them from touching you.
> take advantage of all the burning/paralyze effects of psionics to get them off your back and use force field to keep distance between you and them after you've been stung long enough to detect them as they get close to you. Use your huge psionic pool
> flares are your friend
I prefer option two since, even though it is the most time intensive, it is the most stress free. Option 3 uses part of 1. Option 4 is universal.

Mass enrage breaks 90% of the game, and the part you can't, you can just use the other psi to kill. Just because your're dumb it doesn't mean the stuff is shit;

stealthed smg operator with ambush, spec ops, and a silenced 5mm smg. sneak around with a taser and gun down random stragglers then swat into a group of enemies with infinite flashbangs and gas grenades

I've accessed the special merch from the dude in Coretech, which is where I got my high quality Plasma core and shield core. I'm just torn feeling like it's just a big meme and I'd have been better off dumping all my points into dodge or some shit.

>use a flare
>there is 5 of them
>you are in an open area
>they all still sting you and nothin personel away
>they have insane evasion
>2 of them are the anti med deathfuckers

just temporal distortion + pyro them and hide behind your forcefield and stasis as fire and time slowly rapes them ;^)

I'm running psi and I'm desperate for electronics to make that shiney psi boosting headgear.

What's your build? Post Base ability screen, stat loadout, and current inventory.

>Craftlet
>No expansion

*snort*

Sell me on doctor feat, or anti-sell me on it.
Also is it worth getting Paranoia for +5 initiative when I'm at base 11 initiative?

>tfw fucked up my build somewhere halfway but full denial keeps me going

Attached: unknown.png (922x643, 158K)

I'm using a knife build which caps dex at 10 and uses Shiv for the entirety of the game for 4 AP attacks.

At level 30 the character will have 60 base AP (due to Fight Response), around 60% critical chance (due to Survival Instincts and infused rathound armor), and 800% crit damage (specializing 10 points in Critical Power and 2 in Ripper). Throw in Blitz, Contraction and Fancy Footwork and he becomes a literal whirlwind in battle.

I'll also level Throwing to take Fatal Throw (3 points specialized into AP replenish) for a free kill in enemies with less than 25% HP and to gain free 12 AP in top of that.

Attached: master-forgive-me-but-ili-have-to-go-all-out-39843665.png (500x272, 238K)

Tranquility vs Psi-chosis, red pill me on the ultimate wizard path.

always get paranoia.

Doctor becomes when you're 3 CON and a +10 CON Last Stand chad

this build does 0 damage
you will literally hit things, crit, and the combat log will display "0"

General rule is if you're low on both DEX and AGI (hence initiative) then you should have high CON in order to tank ambushes and enemies dropping the first hits on you, and there are instances where combat happens after a dialogue and doesn't give you the chance to initiate combat first, so you'll rely on that F9 button like a pussy until it gives you better initiative than the rest.

It allows you to save that scavenger and literally be a doctor. It's a good feat.

What are you even trying to do with your build?

Shotgun burst tincan

Fellow anons that already beat the game at least once, what do you do now that you know you shouldn't, but you can't help yourself? And I don't mean just war crimes.
>start game
>outpost quest for basic pocket change
>acquire all the traps and caltrops avaliable
>head to junkyard's gamble house
>fill up backdoor path with caltrops, some traps in a zigzag path
>lob one grenade near entrance
>guards pour out, security chief spots trap, disarms it, repeat
>after a few traps he dies from caltrop overdose
>free fucking shield at level 2

Attached: 1550364665001.jpg (294x387, 14K)

damn why did you tell me this

To expand on this
Tranquility path for -5 cost per cast, +25 to my psi pool and premeditation for some serious spam. Combine with psycho-static electricity to give a group of guns +25% to crit against and I can slowly shave down a huge group while spamming stuns. Also good for spamming temporal distortion on a frozen target to if fighting a guy solo.

Or just go psionic mania to nuke dudes with fireballs and tele-punch before the fight even starts.

More crits but with less castings or more castings when at full health with the default number of crits. Depends on your build.

Looks fine to me. Needs more Biology.
>Intimidation
But why?

I went blind and expected it to be more useful than it really was

>And I don't mean just war crimes.
O-oh.
I make builds and take feats that I think synergise well from a roleplaying and not necessarily mechanical perspective

high iq

I get them from the prison quest

but ezra and karen rarely sell shitty ones
gort rarely sells the blueprint
and the nuker near GMS always has one

Also, i haven really seen any reason behind leveling bio since i already drown in heal items

look at this pipeworker and laugh kids
google "underrail shiv/critical power" and you'll understand your mistakes

you pretty much never need bio for making heal items, its for the other stuff

I play exlusive 20con meatboys

Nah, I think you're underestimating shivs. At level 30 and max melee, the shiv will have a 3-18 damage range, which averages to 10 non-critical damage. A critical hit will deal 9x that damage over half the time, so the real damage averages to about 60. Throw in Ripper, and the damage increases dramatically as you lower the enemy's HP. All for 4 AP attacks.

infused rathound
survival instincts
focus stim
recklessness
hardcore chips

Care to elaborate?

how do i repair the reef glider? A vehicle repair kit?

>nuker near GMS
do you mean the SGS soldier
do you lure the rats to kill him

this is not actually a build
you will hit for 0 damage crits on anything remotely resembling armor

its self-explanatory, user

is the soldier there a "nuker"?
does he have a blue bar?

where do you idiots come from

Hope you got Super Slam

>Using dropped shields

THIS IS WHY I ASKED A QUESTION FOR CLARIFICATION YOU NIGGER
stop bullying me

Fair enough, that's pretty good for a blind build.

It's not really for healing items unless you want to get Biology really high so you can make the top-tier ones. On a Guns build Biology is really good because you can make your own adrenaline and morphine shots and focus stims, you don't need that many points and you've got the Intelligence to make it work. Eventually you can make Bullhead (stun resist) and Irongut (Bio resist) drugs, too.

Having as many adrenaline/morphine/focus stims as you can use is really, really good.

FUUUCK IM RUNNING OUT OF UNDERPIE AND SHOPS AREN'T SELLIN EM

for these things, there's mastercard
I mean, traps grenades tasers and all that stuff that covers things you build doesn't excel at, like every other non psi build
just add gas nades/the claw for stuff with flesh, emps for bots and you're already ok with 99% of encounters
you sound like you tried to shiv niggas but failed because you're a stupid zoner

mutie chef

but that's literally not possible, even with 10 will he still takes over

There's no enemy in the game that has such a high damage threshold that it resists a super crit of 8x damage unless I get terribly unlucky and roll low on the weapon's damage range, and even then I can deal a shit ton more attacks to compensate.

nagas and dreadnoughts might

I'M TOO STUPID AND INDECISIVE TO PICK.

I'm talking about thinking outside of the box, user.
Taking mercantile and electronics on every build is lame, you should try to live a little.

i'm playing as a pure knife on dominating right now. i tried shiv. it's shit, and will remain shit. you've fallen for the classic meme of trying to maximize cheap shot procs instead of having your knife actually do fucking damage

Not really, looking at bio items only bullhead seems anyway interesting and that's only to fuck up crawler's shit

I have 10 CON so I should be able to tank some stuff. Gonna wear pretty heavy armor too.

Base Ability allocated is not the best. Tungsten steel armor really isn't worth 9 str. It's not that much better than normal steel early game and you get much better stuff late game that only takes 8 str. You're not going to use stealth very much with your build so you don't really need more than 4 agility. Even if you decide to use grenades, you can get away with 3 dex. Though 4 is nice because there is no penalty. You could probably get away with 3 dex+3 agility since, with the right feats, you don't have to worry about stuns and you can handle going last if you aren't the one to initiate combat.
You could get away with
Str 8
Dex 3
Agi 3
Con 9
Per 10
Will 3
Int 4
since Int 4 gives no penalties to crafting skills. You'll be able to craft something appropriate to your level while your character's able to operate optimally in combat. You could do
Str 8
Dex 3
Agi 3
Con 9
Per 9
Will 4
Int 4
If you want a few social skills. But you don't use them most of the time and they don't really have to be very high to be useful early game. Maybe a little bit of persuasion to butter up people to get some good early game stuff or mercantile to get access to some shops around mid game. The penalty is not big on throwing since you can probably get away with relatively low throwing in either case if you decide to use it. You can get away with not leveling most social skills for a long time. Even if you decide not to, with an optimal build, you should be able to get through most situations without social skills anyways. Also, crafting >> social. Prioritize that. Chemistry is okay if you're playing a build that uses a lot of grenades/traps, but you don't need it if you're only using them for situational support. Bullets are easy to get mid-late game anyways. Unless you desperately need something special and a lot of it, you don't need it. Mech+Electronics+Tailoring are all you need at first. Maybe some bio later for great combat drugs.

I'm not gonna drop a fun build because of 2 shitter enemies user. I'll bring grenades, psi, drugs, etc, whatever to deal with those guys. Mind you that even they will take damage to a shiv thanks to Ripper, which directly multiplies the 8x damage multiplier the more injured the enemy is.

Thinking outside the box is only good when it works, you can get to level 4 on oddity without even starting the outpost quest, but it's not really that useful or hard to do.

Good luck, jack! We believe in you!

I think being able to cast more spells at the beginning of combat is way better just because of all of the special effects psi abilities have. It kind of negates the need for the extra damage from crits. Take Tranquility.

Psycho+Mania is objectively more broken, Tranq+Medi is objectively more versatile.

look at this fucking casul and laugh

I don't want to be rude, zoner.

But user that's how I played LoL for 10 years. Optimized builds is literally the only thing that exists.

He's right though, it is a meme.

its only a "meme" when you're new
after a run or two, hard is piss easy and you get nothing from it

complete basically everything in lower underrail
>get to upper underrrail, get bored, then re-roll
I wish I could commit to a character

If only you could roleplay.

What crafting feats are good? is it worth taking Skinner if I will only use it for boots? are clothier or ballistics good if I am using riot armor?
I decided not to take power management since it is actually a debuff for regenerative armor.

It's a meme. Regardless of whether it's enjoyable or not, it's still a meme.

>He plays Underrail for the "difficulty"
Let me guess, you're also one of those who want to nerf Psi, are you?

Attached: come on, son.png (365x155, 65K)

How important is stealth? Like, between the dude mission, warehouse mission and many others it seems kinda vital.
Unless you go full munchkin and wipe out a military base singlehandedly...

It's hammer time

Your only choice shouldn't be between 'engage easy mode' or 'ignore an entire category of skills and abilities'.

Skinner is pointless, especially for boots.
If it did work with infused leather it would be another matter entirely, but it doesn't, so into the trash it goes.
Get Clothier instead.

What kind of retard thinks anything in a single player game needs to be nerfed?

More like metal armor and assault rifle laughs at everything. Why do people point to psi as too powerful when you can just ignore all damage and eat around psi.

It's useful, but it's not necessary. It's just that unless you're psi and can chain-cc people it's the most consistently useful way of controlling an engagement, since it allows you positioning and being able to act first instead of getting shot by some crossbownigger out of nowhere.

For quests where you need to use it you can get by just with a good set of stealth-enhancing gear.

Murder hoboing for better items is fine for awhile, but when you want quality crap you have to sit on it, once you get some nice parts you will be able to make some sick stuff

relative
hard/dominating make stealth much more useful
on normal you can have 0 stealth from stats and pull off all stealthy quests and even sneak through some tough spots with just +stealth gear
either build for it or don't, just don't ever half-ass it.

>What crafting feats are good? is it worth taking Skinner if I will only use it for boots?
Look at the actual number' you'll get through it this way, compare to literally any other feat and punch yourself in the face.

> are clothier or ballistics good if I am using riot armor?
If you plan to use it for the most of teh game and you already got your vital feats there is no reason not to take it, it's free DT which is always good.

What are must have feats if I want to main chem pistols?

what?
last time I did it on dominating it took longer to write down than solve

Yes, I play Underrail for the considerably higher difficulty, more combat options, different approaches and character builds it offers compared to other isometric RPGs. I enjoy challenge, and the challenge that Dominating offers is fun, both in quantity and quality. You can stick to lesser difficulties if that's what makes you happy or you're not cognitively ready for a more demanding game mode.

Attached: cow.jpg (227x225, 7K)

If your initiative is low do not try to compensate for it by buffing it, do what these anons have said and focus on other stats. Also be a bitch and reload to initiate combat with off screen grenades.

threadly reminder that you can make a build with psi that isn't
>actually non psi build with 3 will just getting temporal for stasis+psiadren
or
>10 will 10 int all 4 psi schools all spells
all it takes is not being a total minmaxing weenie.

Broken? How?

What really puts me off it is the point increase to abilities that don’t even benefit from the crit like the temporal shit.

That would require some self-awareness and a functioning brain, user.

Once again, the hammer prevails
And no psi used

They are conditioned by years of MOBAs to experience flashbacks of utter humiliation by living teammates every time they perceive themselves as playing something not optimized to the highest numbers per click possible.

They can build a stealthy knifer, but literally every attack throws them into a fit of phantom pain, as they compare damage values to what they could do as an optimized full psi and see their character as "not useful enough".

This is why they want psi nerfed - it actual limits their choices by simply existing as an option. Tragic, really.

Excuse me, as a member of South Gate Station, I prefer the term, "Murder Inclined Citizen"

paranoia + root soda will buff you enough that only carnifex tier enemies will still have a good chance of going first, buffing low init is an option

The word sledgehammer is derived from the Anglo Saxon "slægan", which, in its first sense, means "to strike violently"

Apex work, sledge. Keep on hammerin' those filthy mutie scum.

I have never see anyone with a sword build in these threads. Are they that bad?

no
you're just blind

Kicking mutants in the balls and stunning them for 2 turns was the real MVP
Also molotovs, bear traps, caltrops, Sure Step and Adrenaline

>"must...latch on....to any....argument...left...no matter...how stupid!"
don't hurt yourself, psibabby

Choice is an illusion. Humans are obliged to follow the path their circumstances have laid out for them.

>Broken? How?
Psychosis frequently sends you to F9cucksville by crits not happening and you finding yourself with not psi and boosters on cooldown, but when RNG is on your side it trivializes encounters way over your level. Then Mania happens and RNG ceases being an issue - with some prep and positioning you can trivilize literally everything that is not named "Rahm-Umbra" or "Tanner". Play with force field a bit and you can one-sphere every whisperer on Mainfrain level of the Oculus.

How do I speed up my out of combat movement? I hear there's a way to do it but I don't remember

Nice deflection, you illiterate motioner

Choice does exist. It is limited, but it does exist. In this game, there are at least a dozen viable choices each with their own gameplay loop. They can choose one of those if they don't like Psionics.

I am obliged to follow the path of 10 agility and 3 intelligence. As you can see, I run away from all of my problems.

They have since the beginning - Styg is, well, Styg, and he doesn't want to nerf psi. I suggest playing a different game and never posting in these threads again.

You don't understand anything.
The domicuck only plays for external validation, and Psi one of the things that denies them validation (although trap/caltrop/brapnade abuse to make their shitty difficulty mode not a complete torment is totally legit, seriously), despite what they say, these people do not play for the challenge, they play for bragging, bragging in an already minuscule community.
So you have to deal with retards that still pretend Psi should be nerfed despite Psi working perfectly on Underrail's bigger picture and everything else being actually broken in the old sense of the word, it's a very morbid case of stockholm syndrome really, further amplified by massive lack of self esteem, autism and desperate need for validation.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to roleplay a character archetype and wanting it to be as effective combat-wise as other builds. Stuff being broken or imbalanced is fine in games like Morrowind and Baldur's Gate since they're lore-oriented and assert magic as being uber powerful, which takes priority over game balance - neither games are competitive, they prioritize player immersion over in-game challenges.

But Underrail is not like those games. This game is gameplay-oriented, whether you like it or not. Styg has made it quite clear he wants to give all character builds their own pros and cons, and PSI as it stands right now is just a straightforward upgrade to all builds. All I want is to play a knife / sledgehammer / crossbow / guns user with 3 Will and face a bigger dilemma of whether my weak-willed character should take the PSI pill or not, considering both the pros and cons of my decision. Currently, the pros heavily outweight the cons in all builds and all situations, which is why PSI needs a rebalance.

Attached: b4f.jpg (569x428, 25K)

sword builds can be summed up like this:
your full potential is only unlocked if you don't miss several atacks in a row with 95% max hit chance, if you miss bam 5 turns cooldown
take a wild guess at what happens really often in that scenario

>Tfw corroding Tchort over the course of three turns so you can one shot him with a incendiary bolt crit
I won the game with a non tin can or psi wiz build on hard. Time to add another inch to my epenis.

everyone without exception desires validation. just be open and straightforward about it, only teenagers deny.

Maybe they should start playing chess instead and choose to only play against the most advanced computer chess AI. Then would they be happy?

Hope I don't get fucked by any underwater niggers while looking for it.

You can roleplay by building your character in a theme and acting it out.
It's really not as hard as you think if you use your imagination.

that has nothing to do with it.
If it were possible to build an optimized knife with out psi, then whether or not knife, fully optimized, was stronger or weaker than a pure psi build would not matter, you would be playing knife and would have completed your task of optimizing it.

The problem is temporal manipulation means the optimal knife, has psi. Everything has psi.

Except if you read the rest of my post (which you obviously didn't) I state that I want it to be as effective as other builds combat-wise.

No matter if you're a brute, a knife assassin or a tech-savvy sniper, PSI benefits them all. It's not fair, nor balanced at all. I want a playstyle which fits both my roleplay and combat optimization desires.

Contrary to your claim, there is an actual dilemma between taking the psi pill or not on a 3 will character. What really bothers you, although you deny this, is temporal manipulation being too accessible to hybrids. You think this is a mistake or oversight by Styg, but it's an intentional choice. Styg wants you to have slow motion matrix time dilation powers because he thinks they're cool and add to the style of the game. He doesn't want those powers to be restricted to pure psi because that's a different archetype.

>there's nothing wrong with wanting to roleplay a character archetype, but I'm too autistic to do so unless everything is perfectly balanced

>. Stuff being broken or imbalanced is fine in games like Morrowind and Baldur's Gate since they're lore-oriented and assert magic as being uber powerful
Oh but this isn't the case in Underrail where you have psi demigods like Ezra or Dude and having all the big cosmic lore being specifically Psi oriented?
Jesus christ, you domicucks are mentally ill.
>Currently, the pros heavily outweight the cons in all builds and all situations
It's also true for other entire categories like traps/throwing and crafting, let alone Mercantile, so why is it that Psi alone takes all the heat?
Maybe because Dominating is an actually really shitty mode, that invalidates most of the game and the only thing you can feasibly take out is Psi since you can still fall off on carpet bombing everything with poisoned caltrops and traps, let alone gas grenades, because let's be honest, barely anything actually works on Dominating without really specific and tedious setups that inevitably fall on the overpowered tool of your choice, and your inability to actually accept your roleplaying choice only underlines this more.

>everyone without exception desires validation
But not through niche single-player RPGs, user. It's literally VN date-sim validation tier.

>not fair
Such is life in the zone, breh.
What did you expect, fields of flowers?

>there is an actual dilemma between taking the psi pill or not on a 3 will character
Except there isn't, because the utility that Temporal Manipulation and Psychokinesis provide outweights the skill point investment and HP penalties by miles.

Calm down, Josh.

Yes. And you are literally demanding to kill an entire swath of archetypes just so that your pet builds are not besmirched by your literal autism - you demand most unoptimized psi-builds being made unplayable beyond easy just so that you don't feel bad about your existing build being "less efficient" than a hypothetical build that only affects your own playthrough through your imagination.

Attached: char.png (973x711, 90K)

At least Psi does have a penalty.
Throwing and traps do not have any penalty at all but those are perfectly fine for you, yep, caltrops are completely balanced and totally do not interfere with your desire to "roleplay" a knife build.
What penalty does Mercantile have? Because I sure love crafting 160Q equipment at level 13 and trivialize anything on any build in a game where a lot of core combat mechanics such as defense are completely gear dependant.
But PSI man, fucking PSI should be totally nerfed because people have fun with it and completely ridicules my try hard "builds" on the renowned DOMINATING difficulty option, the only proper way to play Underrail.

You are on the spectrum, aren't you?

>normie lacks to analytical prowess to understand why psi is a problem
as expected

user (you) are the problem.

In my defense, being a hybrid, I found myself hammering and mind punching people in equal measures, unlike pure psi that have literally 100 options at their disposal, I still had to work my way out of tought situations, which took me time and patience.
I know it doesnt have much meaning for you, but it does for me.
>if all your other skill points went into things you never once touched, would be sufficient to win the game.
So having options is a bad thing? Priorizing skills and strategies is a bad thing? I don't see how is this a bad thing.
And for the record, I'm doing a psi-less hammer run and I'm breezing through Dominating using other tactics and approaches, I think you're being terrible harsh on psi, user.

No, psi is the problem.

Go play an actual e-sport instead of chimping out about single player games

Yes.

It's funny how you don't have the balls to address any of the other points about other skills being just as "broken" as psi, if not more.
But the simple fact that Psi is here to stay and will forever make you terribly upset is already good enough for me.

Dumb motioner

>And for the record, I'm doing a psi-less hammer run and I'm breezing through Dominating using other tactics and approaches
But muh hardcore difficulty! Muh unbalanced psi! Muh pipework!

Be reasonable for once

Traps are broken! They need to be nerfed immediately! No reason not to take them on any build!

Thanks for confirming. I just want to resolve the Faceless situation in Rail Crossing and the gang questline in Junkyard so I don't think I will raise it any higher.

>throw fireball
>goes to my feet
>die instantly
I laughed

Attached: 20190922003244_1.jpg (1366x768, 98K)

there is a thin line between "using your resources" and "constantly hauling ass back to grab 100+ weight in traps to clear another 2-3 rooms"

game only feels big the first time you play it then you realise each area is connected by like 2-3 screens at best, but yes the lack of fast travel kinda hurts it, but at least trains exist
riftwalking exists too and is fucking great, but it comes late, is kinda annoying to keep going, and is usually inconvenient to the extreme
i read about some guy who was hexediting the game to unlock all the rifts from the start, along with infinite riftsight, as well as raising the level cap to 50, so hopefully a mod of some kind comes out soon based around that

how do you hide the game over screen after you die? sometimes i want to look at the combat log to see what happened but i can't figure out how
sorry if this is common knowledge

You take a screenshot the moment you die

The fact that fireballs and cryo orbs are aimed like grenades unlike the pinpoint accurate aimbot bullshit that is cryokinesis and other physical psi skills never ceases to be amusing

>having options is a bad thing?
Whether or not options are good or bad (which depends entirely on the context by the way) has nothing to do with my statement. You cant simply disregard the argument by claiming that some quality of the build has an intrinsic amount of goodness by appealing to 'the universal goodness of 'options'' and use that to subtract validity of reason.

Nobody is claiming you cant beat the game with a suboptimal build.

I have plenty of other critisizms of the game, like for example how stealthy builds require more skill investment than armor builds, and the way crafting is more or less mandatory. But none of these are as intrusive as the way psi works. You can use grenades with out spending a single point into throwing, and so the throw skill itself becomes nice to have. If the game did not allow for save scumming, which would be nice, then it might become a larger issue

>>constantly
?

then is there no way to review the combat log to see what happened on the dice rolls? damn that sucks

No, I wanted to do both from the start and thought that I could leave out Steadfast Aim and go 10 Int, mostly because I wanted to do a 10 Int science boy.

When most of the game is spent doing the same exact thing(and one of the most tedious approaches no less) just to make builds viable on a meme difficulty, it's hard to say you're "breezing" through anything or making use of your resources, let alone a wise or interesting use of resources.
But the real problem is that at its core, Underrail is an extremely simple and straightforward game, especially when you try to push the envelope beyond the realm of roleplaying for the sake of meta, and a very, very flawed meta on top of it all.
>none of these are as intrusive as the way psi works
Except that as you said, Throwing still works with zero investment into it, while Psi not only needs you to take a 25% malus to your HP pool, it also NEEDS you to invest several points in order to simply use Psi abilities, whereas I can throw Plasma nades MK3 or Brapnades with 0 throwing skill just fine, let alone Cave Ear or Crawler Caltrops.
But PSI is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad, amirite?

Attached: 1560086233158.jpg (1024x698, 65K)

I interpreted the wiki as skinner not giving a boost to the quality of infused leather, but crafts made from infused leather would get a boost. but I guess it doesn't work that way?
I guess I will choose clothier, does that work best with the antithermic, kevlar, or blast coat? because that is the only thing it will affect in my game I want to get the most out of the perk
so is ballistics any good?

How the fuck does mercantile even work. I've gotten it to 100 because the people in these thread imply it's the only way to get good crafting materials but I haven't noticed anything different.

>Nobody is claiming you cant beat the game with a suboptimal build.
This whole discussion was kicked off by one autismo pipeworker who didn't want to understand that you can have fun with different builds on different difficulties.

No worries user, if you only want a moderate level you'll be fine even with the malus from Will, you'll have more than enough skillpoints. Good luck with your game!

Throwing, because you don't need to do anything at all, becomes a fundamental mechanic of the game like opening containers. And so there is no question between throwing things, or not throwing things, the only question is whether you would like to improve the throwing capability, or use the base throwing functionality.

Because psi is presented as a choice, either take the pill or dont, and these choices are mutually exclusive, both outcomes should result in different but equivalent experiences. If you could not decide to reject the pill, and everyone had psi by default, then there would be no problem with psi, as there is no problem with throwing.

>Look at the actual number' you'll get through it this way, compare to literally any other feat and punch yourself in the face.
so I am guessing that is a no?

this is not relevent to the discussion at all user, neither are difficulties. Whether you are playing on easy or dominating optimal is optimal, you dont even need to play the game to be experiencing whether a build is optimal or not, you can simply look at a character creator and spend your time moving points around and planning progression through the various stages of the game in your mind to optimize not just what you take but when you take it.

OK, what now

Attached: Screenshot 2019-09-21 23.45.41.png (1597x888, 1.31M)

Fair enough. Personally I would've found a way to fit Steamfast Aim because it's really good - I want to say by dropping Dexterity but I don't have the AP breakpoints for energy pistols at hand. But I'm glad you stuck with your build idea, user.

You use it to unlock better inventories with certain traders and then buy from them.

>Throwing, because you don't need to do anything at all, becomes a fundamental mechanic of the game like opening containers
I get it! Styg just needs to make psi abilities free to use and acquire and it will finally make everything fair and balanced.

Lmao git gud
Throw an EMP at your feet, you did bring EMP grenades right?

>because you don't need to do anything at all, becomes a fundamental mechanic of the game like opening containers
Nobody forces you to throw things or open containers though, these things aren't any more or less fundamental than PSI, I personally don't use throwing anymore since several runs since I have other tools that can make up for it, and most containers have fuck all in them, so I only really gun for the oddities and leave the rest to my mercantile levels, but other people can choose to do the contrary of course.
>these choices are mutually exclusive, both outcomes should result in different but equivalent experiences
Which they totally do, more than throwing in fact since taking or not taking throwing doesn't give me any malus whatsoever, whereas PSI undeniably does.

But keep digging your autistic grave further, I'm really enjoying this.

Of course, but this is the sec outpost where they make you drop all your items. I do have 2 emp nades, so I threw one, force walled, and exited->re-entered after stasis'ing. The naga protector did like 80% of the damage thru friendly fire.

the psi penalty is nowhere near equivalent to the benifit, thats kind of the whole point. There is absolutely nothing with the trade off of 25% hitpoints for temporal manipulation that would ever lead someone to conclude the hitpoints are more valuable to their build

So in the end, what the fuck was the cube and who the fuck is Tanner really?

You can pick them back up you know, you did go to medical first right? I couldn't even get in before hitting medical.

>There's nothing wrong with wanting to roleplay a character archetype and wanting it to be as effective combat-wise as other builds.
does playing your non-psi build make the game too hard?
then ask for a buff, not nerfing an entirely different build type
is the difficulty good on yours, but too easy with other builds?
then just don't play on the easier build

>but I can't stand other people being better than me in a singleplayer game!
FUCK YOU PIPEWORKER

>this is not relevent to the discussion at all user, neither are difficulties. Whether you are playing on easy or dom
Why don't you go back and read my post again, user.

We only know what the game tells us and anything else is speculation. The cube is a power source but for what who fucking knows. Six won't even say Tanner's real name so I doubt he will reveal why he has such a murder boner for him either.

yes thats what i said if there was no pill dialogue and you just have the ability to use psi from the start then your psi bar is a standard, default, resource like hitpoints or acton points etc. Proper optimization for any build would be to make sure you have some amount of psi to use this resource in some way, and there would be no problem. here you would then choose, like throwing, whether to improve it or simply use its base value.
The problem stems from the option to reject the pill, and then this option not giving you some bonus that is equivalent but different from psi. a few more hitpoints does not make up for it.

In fact this is a good way to look at the situation, a thought experiment. Imagine you start out able to use psi, but there is a feat you can take to permanently remove that ability, but give you 25% more hitpoints. What build would ever take that feat?

>what armor DOES it work good with?
Vests. They have more DT and DT boost for bullets, RG has more resistance, DT boost for melee and the shield. The only actually useful bonus from Clothier is +10% mech DT of your armor from cevlar at >100 quality components, which for vests becomes 3-4 base and 10-12 effective against bullets at those quality levels. For Riot Gear it climbs over 2 base, 4 effective for bullets and 3 effective for melee only at meme quality levels.

>the psi penalty is nowhere near equivalent to the benifit,
That's your opinion, and again, Throwing has zero penalty at all to begin with, but that's completely fine to you.

>what the fuck was the cube and who the fuck is Tanner really
Only three remain.

>That's your opinion
No user, it is mathematical fact, you can directly gain far more survivability from psi than you can from extra hitpoints so its not even a complicated problem to work out requiring us to try and quantify and compare different kinds of things.

>level mercantile
>jew everyone out of their coins
>traders willing to pay their entire stock for a jacket i pulled off some corpse
>have a literal pile of junk that i keep in the town to slowly sell off
>basically on-demand money

You fags really have me ready to buy this game next time it goes on sale. Is the learning curve steep?

Are the ONLY things in the dark fucking roof niggers?

Attached: 20190922005952_1.jpg (1366x768, 144K)

>No user, it is mathematical fact, you can directly gain far more survivability from psi than you can from extra hitpoints
But it's not necessary, isn't it?
I also get a shitload more survivability by being able to not throw grenades at my fucking feet, and that doesn't even need me to burn 25% of my HP pool on top of spending at the very least 280 points in four different fields plus feats, money for tutors and also looking for mentor items.
AND YET, poisoned caltrops and gas grenades that allow you to completely trivialize the game, without even needing psi, are completely fine according to you, but psi isn't, despite psi having an explicit penalty and needing to invest multiple points into it to actually work in the first place.

7 agility for fancy footwork or 6 intelligence for weapon smith on a machete build?

Yes, you will die many times on normal and then come to these threads to complain about being memed into buying and game and crawlers are bullshit.

Image is outdated I know, but still applies.

Attached: HMMMM.png (491x700, 557K)

fancy footwork is one of those game changing feats that completely changes the way you approach combat

You've got extra dimensional void ghosts and they still follow the games rules
Crawlers can apparently teleport anywhere, even through doors, they just don't give a shit.

they're all the same shit with different vendors and perspectives on the murder
pick praetorians if you dig guns or plate armor
pick coretech if you leveled eletronics
pick jkk if you're a stealthy type or just don't click with the other two

free drones are a meme resistance group

Can someone tell me how to make a melee dex build?

Do claw/glove melee weapons count as fist weapons for perks that require them?

>stealthy
nah
>eletronics
nah
>plate armor
nah
>guns
good enough, praetorians it is

footwork is the sister feat of blitz, get both or get neither.
weapon smith isn't as good as you think it is.

Not if you have a functioning brain.

whats necessary doesnt matter, you could use a weaker gun and still be fine, you could do a lot of things suboptimally and still be fine, nobody will argue that because you could do these things that those are the correct choices. No, if someone asks for advice between two guns people will tell them to use the better one, even if the better thing is not necessary

>if someone asks for advice between two guns people will tell them to use the better one
>people are literally playing with firearms and crossbows instead of energy pistols in this ITT thread

blitz and fancy footwork do radically different things. if you don't understand why a melee combatant would prefer to actually use their movement points on movement, or the significance of THREE stat points between 7 and 10 you're a retard

yes
high dex, high str
combo, lightning fists
the claw/powerfist

There are unarmed and fist weapons
Unarmed is basically bare fists
Fist weapons are basically cloves, leather, mechanical, or electrical
Both fall on the dexterity weapon category, reducing their AP cost per hit, however also get a bonus from strenght, more damage, however DEX also gives higher crit chance, so generally unarmed/fisters boost mainly DEX
Also fist weapons do not count towards unarmed, the 'improved unarmed combat' only boosts bare fist fighting, not glove fist weapons

Protectorate are supremely based and have some of the most fun missions in the game.
The >drones are derailed literally-terrorist-tier their missions are still pretty fun, especially for sneaky/commando types, but still not as good as the Protectorate
Praetorian security are great, Coretech are retards and JKK are both retards and pipeworking crossbowniggers.

Bilocation is the dumbest shit, thanks

I see
so getting high quality isn't that important with riot gear because the increase in damage resistance due to quality isn't as significant as the increase in damage threshold?
so does that mean that ballistics is a good choice riot gear since it increases threshold by a flat amount?

>new game as wizard
>robe in the first container i open
styg?

>hitting enemies in MELEE range before running away
yes, im the retard here

>if you don't understand why a melee combatant would prefer to actually use their movement points on movement
I don't understand.

>all these crybabies bashing on people enjoying Dominating
Instead of trying to bring others down to your level, you should realize that challenge is fun, and being able to choose from a repertory of playstyles with different pros and cons -which all average to the same effectiveness in combat- is also fun. A no-brainer build choice, in this case PSI, which is a straightforward combat upgrade to all playstyles, is not fun. There's nothing wrong with it being powerful, but the cons should be greater - the game explicitly states it fucks up with your health, so it should mess with your physical stats to a bigger extent. There should be an actual dilemma of whether your character should take the pill or not. The answer shouldn't be "yes" for all cases. That's all we ask for.

This game does need rebalancing in other areas, not just PSI but also Traps and Mercantile for example. But PSI indeed takes the cake in terms of bullshittiness, at least Traps and Mercantile's effectiveness are heavily affected by their respective stats and you'll need to put more skill points into them if your Dexterity or Will are low, while to get all the utility from PSI all you have to do is level the base skills of each school, and the effective penalty or bonus of low / high Will doesn't matter at all. And the skill requirements to learn them aren't very high to begin with.

>>all these crybabies bashing on people enjoying Dominating
Except nobody's doing that, you disingenuous absolute motioner.

>challenge is fun
>look at me I only play on Dominating
>also my autism compels me to only play with a skill I admit is overpowered
HMMMM

You shouldnt dump STR since it works well with punching, but you could, just be aware that you wont do much damage to armoured enemies if you tank STR to 3
You main stats to boost are STR, DEX, AGI, leave INT at 5 for Expose weakness, feel free to tank CON and PER to 3, Will it's up to you
Crafting is always necessary, but it really depends on your build
You go Monk or Psi monk?

Nope, heading Strrrraight to Foundry, bringing a crate to capture a Borer
It requires sometime, but it's worth in the end, and I'm a patient man, so I don't mind
Also
>Tin can
>Stealth
I simply put traps before combat I cannot easily win, that's all, no need for Stealth nor Quick Tinkering

>I don't get the appeal to be honest
I don't understand. What aren't you getting?

i don't really want psi since i'm reserving that for another playthr. is melee still ok w/o psi? or are they gimped w/o it?

also is a char who only uses throwing knives + grenade + occasional traps viable? I just noticed I've never fully utilized them to their full potential.

Don't cave wizard builds lend themselves really well to Biology crafting?
You probably dump STR so you don't have much carry weight. And since you're not lugging around traps or grenades, or heavy weapons and armor, the obvious choice is copious amounts of drugs.
Since you're not using many utilities you go for the Doctor Pouch, which lets you down any combat consumable for 2 AP. You could super buff yourself with 5 different things for the price of 1.
And it just fits thematically. Wizards always have concoctions and glowing potions and stuff. And they harvest a shit ton of ingredients.

Pure monk is still viable, if a more challenging
>Only uses
I rather think not, however you can still use all of those are support weaponry, any high DEX character are good with those, like monks

The best thing a wizard would use biology for is adding a psi beetle carapace to a tactical vest/riot gear. Not an extreme amount of biology, but at least some.

Sources of crit chance for all knifefags out there

base: 5%
recklessness: 7%
srval. instnct: 30%
tungst.serrated.knife: 3%
18 dex: 13%
weaponsmith: 5%
inf.rat.armor: Around 10% (let's say 12%)
hardcr. chips: 5%
fcus. stim: 15%

total: 75% critical chance without consumables (95% with chips and focus stim)

Not counting in specialization points, you can reach over 100% crit chance with them but those points are better spent on crit damage feats like critical power and ripper.

thinking of throwing knives + stealth? aren't there feats that support that kind of ninja playstyle?

Yeah, Interloper for example.
Stealth skill is boosted, or penalized by the Agility base ability, the higher, the better Stealth, other abilities like Throwing and Trapping are boosted by Dexterity
Again, I'd use throwing knifes as an utility rather than an actual main weapon, since you can poision throwing knifes, it can be quite handy

underrail.com/wiki/index.php?title=Thermodynamic_Destabilization

Actually, nevermind, I think Critical Power gets calculated after other critical damage boosts, so it'll do way more damage.

The buff isn't that strong nor does it last enough to be worth of the penalty later in my opinion, therefore i don't think its worth having them, what i don't get is people telling adrenaline is a must have for any build, its not really

Is there anything left for me to do in the dlc? I'veGot the Aconr, given todd to the ferryman, genocided the natives and destroyed the black monoliths.
I don't think I've killed magnar yet. Is he meant to be in the tombs? Should I just kill all the pirates? I negotiated safe passage and all that but it dosn't seem like I can talk to the captain again even though I have the aconr

adrenaline is worth it not only in the cases where it's obviously worth it since it's the difference between killing someone before the end of your turn and killing them after they've had their turn to attack you. conceptually it's burrowing action points from your future self, and using them at a time where they have more value (the start of the combat), so even if you're not noticing it, it's almost universally better to use as it changes the tempo of combat.

should I take skinner? how good is it can anyone explain?

figure out what you want to craft and equip
go to the wiki page for that recipe
on the recipe there is a list of possible ingredients that fit the recipe
click on the ingredients
on the ingredient page it shows a chart of how quality level correlates to real bonuses when used in crafting
the value of skinner is the exact amount of extra statistics you get from boosting ingredient quality
if this is worth a feat to you, then you take skinner

You can live without it especially if you have a taser/dirty kick to stun people into 0 dodge condition.

are tasers put into belts or are they weapons? never used them

you are only one level away from locus of control!

They go in your utility belt. 10 ap cost 100% accuracy 1 turn stun but the stun effect can be resisted. Almost mandatory for cheesing dominating.
