No. That retarded elemental weakness system completely fucked the balance. You could stuff your deck with shit-ass normal monsters and stomp any NPC as long as you picked the right colors. ATK/DEF, effects, spells, traps were all made obsolete. The dominant strategy was to just wait for the AI attack into your 100 DEF piece of shit face-down defense position non-effect card with their 3500 ATK ace and watch it get fucking erased because it was the wrong color. Every match was a one-sided game of rock-paper-scissors.

I'll go out of a limb here and say that Reshef of Destruction is probably one of, if not THE, worst Yu-Gi-Oh games made.
The stupid level and deck point system meant you were stuck using shitty card for the entire game. Everything decent required and absurd level and cost. To make it even worse there was nothing proper to grind against except Yugi and Co who gave fuck all in level and cash. Then there was that field scan animation thing or whatever some cards had whose effect was dependent on the current state of the field (e.g. gain attack depending on the number of Fiend monsters on your side of the field) which made every single button press take 1-2 seconds longer.
I just remember getting to that part on the train where you had to win 3 duels in a row but your life-points didn't reset in between.
