So what happens when the switch lite's joysticks inevitably start drifting like the joy cons?

All 1% of the people with defective products will send it in for repair, just like the joy-cons
Stop buying into the meme that the sticks are some massive issue affecting the majority of switch owners

I guess you'll go for warranty or refund. I don't know man. It's up to you.

Both of my original sets of joy cons have had drift problems.
after 1 year you're probably going to be fucked unless there's a major outcry like last time.

2 year warranty is pretty common. depending on the store i guess.

>not using d-pad

zoomers BTFO

I'm definitely better at platformers than you and I've been using an analog stick for them for about a decade (Mega Man 9 on XBLA was what started it)

Actually you suck at platformers

>1%

Extremely obvious damage control. It is far more than 1%. Most switch owner's I've ever talked to or read about have not only had problems with their first set, but also their replacement sets. First set would be indicative of a minor issue with production. Replacement sets means the problem is continual. The fact that this has been going on since LAUNCH indicates a problem at a corporate level which means they know about it but have done nothing.

There is a VERY GOOD REASON that Nintendo is getting sued over the joycons. You're not fooling anyone.

most switch games don't support d-pad controls
including Smash

Tch, prove it kiddo

Don't have to. Everyone already knows

>people actually believe it's only 1%
It's probably closer to 20-30, realistically and I'm sure plenty of people just purchased new ones not knowng that Nintendo was forced to replace them to avoid a lawsuit

it's obvious you suck dude

Not only did it take collective action to convince Nintendo to handle their shit with the joycons, by the time they caved and actually agreed to do anything, it took forever to get the problem addressed. I sent mine in and it took well over a month to get back

Dump it on GameStop then get another.

Tell that to all my gold medals in tropical Freeze time trials heh

>implying gamestop will be around in 2 years

Then dump it to the importer. More or less the thing just requires more effort

Absolute bullshit. Given we had numbers from the law firm and that was for all drift regardless of time and what they did to the joycons, the number is at best 5-10% and that's really pushing it.

You pass it as a feature, like every good switchtard does with the console's flaws.

People suffering from drift issues will always be the loud minority. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, if I had drift issues, I'd complain online too. But you have to remember that the switch has had like 40 million+ lifetime sales at this point, if 20% of those people had issues (8 million) it would be a lot bigger of a deal than it is now.
Anecdotal reports are useless, but if you are going to provide examples, I know about a dozen people irl with switches and none of them have had drift. I'm a day one switch owner and I have no drift. On the other hand, I bought a PS4 last year and my DS4 bricked abruptly after six months.
There will always be faulty hardware for any console, especially in controllers. Not trying to be a corporate cocksucker here but ninty is offering free repair now so I don't see it as a huge issue. This is NOTHING compared to the 360's red ring of death that affected at the VERY least 50% of xbox owners.

Nintendo zealots will deny it, excuse it, or blame it on the owners, just like they do for every defect. See

>They're not different except for the parts that maybe are different, i dunno lol

Almost all modern controllers uses nearly the same design and material. You can literally google any controller and drift together, and you will have over a dozen threads complaining about it.

I find it very interesting that people try to blow out this "oh only 1% of joycons have this issue" when both of my joycons from a launch Switch drift and in two different directions even. Either I'm the luckiest motherfucker on the planet or it's more than 1%

>different materials just as in, the plastic might be slightly different but the design of the components are the same

Nah, the Joycons don't even use the same design as the pro controllers,

That isn't how statistics works but thanks for playing

The graphite pads, that are the cause of the drifting issue, are exactly the same

I barely play, i'm not a fucking fat fuck or a child. I am very careful with my shit.... I have sent 2 joycons in for service so far. They had ~ 100 hours on each.

>unironically buying this re-hashed garbage

Nintendies keep this crap company afloat for no reason at all

I was going to get one as backup but the screen is smaller and that's dumb

It certainly more than 1%. You have to be a total faggot shill to deny that
I bought red mario Switch more than a year ago and my left con started to drift at the start of September. I just bought Hori D-Pad one because i use handhekd mode only but damn if i liked docked version. Because i live in a rural area and i have no pro controller

One of my friends in the internet also had such situation. This is much more than 1%

they may look the same but they are different versions of the analog stick indicated by a different part number inside. so no they arn't exactly the same. they may have fixed them, or maybe not. Only time will tell.
If you are worried about stick drift don't buy it and quit moaning about it.

I got mine in April 2017 and it now overheats to the point where it's basically not even portable anymore. Does anyone else have this experience?

>Joy-Cons start drifting
>buy a new pair from Wal-Mart in cash
>wash old Joy-Cons off with alcohol wipes and carefully repackage them in the box
>return to Wal-Mart for all my money back
Can't rip me off, Nintendo, you bunch of fucking kikes.

Hence the word 'nearly'. There will always be minor variations but the base is nearly the same. It uses graphite for a damn good reason, and using any material would either boost the cost or cause other issues besides drifting.

Hmm thats....actually a neat idea

Feel free to name another material to replace the graphite pad with.

the fan inside mine is incredibly loud and rattles, the dock scratched my screen and the joy cons drift.
It's by far the worst hardware Nintendo has ever produced in terms of quality assurance, it doesn't feel as cheap and fisher price-esque as the Wii U gamepad but it definitely has more issues with reliability.

You buy another Lite, you dumb fuck.

No. Mine is bought at launch and I don't have any problem with it, both docked & portable mode. But it does sound like a problem with the fans inside or something.

True. fisher price-esque as it was, my Wiiu pad survived falls without issue and I never had problems with the joysticks

i clean my joycons when they drift, it fixes the problem for me

That's probably because we barely used it.

how do you clean them?

>Joy-Cons drift
>Pro controller d-pad doesn't function correctly
>both of these controllers are over $60
What happened?

disconnect the joycon, lift the skirt and spray some contact cleaner, after that rotate the thumbstick a few times to make sure it really gets in there. then let it sit a few hours to dry

Profits

>rushing to get things out on a tight schedule, not enough time for extensive QA and real world testing
I heard the d-pads were fixed in the newer pro controllers, but I'm not sure about the joy cons

what type of contact cleaner did you use?

It depends how often these people use their joy cons
I for one don't use them at all and therefore I don't have the drift yet
Many of my friends already have drift or other problems, over HALF of them have these issues and only one actually has the system since launch
Oh and the ones that don't have the problem don't use the joy cons often
It is a very widespread issue, not as bad as the red ring but still a massive issue
I've also seen multiple polls where people had issues, 50%+ voted that they have issues
Different polls from people that usually only have Nintendo fans as followers, no basedniggers manipulating shit or people that flock to it because they have drift, just asking their fanbases if they experienced issues too

Don't stick your fingers into your ears and scream that it isn't a issue

Attached: Soy warrior.jpg (1475x1475, 488K)

I was going to get WD-40 but settled on cheeper stuff, CRC QD Contact Cleaner

Also only problem I have with my joycons not is the right one disconnects every now and then

Everyone I know who owns a switch has this issue

>cheep

that's funny because everyone I know who bought a switch near launch has dealt with the drifting joy con issue.

IT LITERALLY JUST DRIFTED TODAY ON MY JOYCON
HOW IS THIS NOT A BIG PROBLEM

the early patch seem to be pretty bad
i bought 2 nearly a year after and mine are still good now

>a few hours
With the right contact cleaner it only takes a few minutes

I just leave it a few hours, it says quick drying on the can, besides I wasn't going to use my Switch at the moment anyway.
I'm stupid when I type fast
