Anyone else find city 17 super comfy. I sometimes find myself fantasizing living there and put on the ambience as I fall asleep
It seems like such a nice lifestyle. The Combine provides everything for you in return for complete obedience. You can argue they are destroying the planet but whose to say they arent just hastening a process we started. Yeah it sounds like commy shit, but the Combine doesnt have huge bread lines and is exempt from human weaknesses like corruption and greed. Even Breen has to answer for his failures.

I also find City 17 comfy, just like I do Stalker or Gothic games. Funny thing is all those games/places are dangerous, inhospitable and objectively really shitty to live in. I have a theory is that struggle is necessary component of comf. A safe camp is meaningless if the rest of the world is not crappy enough.
