Now that is okay to download it for free, if you catch my drill.
What do you think about it? None seens to talk about this one.
Did you love it? Did you hate it? And why?

Yea Forums doesn't talk about actual good games like this one, and I'd prefer it to stay that way
Its a solid game. Great battle system. Stories are alright overall but some can be good while others are duds. Does get easy at the end as your character tends to be vastly overleveled. Solid game overall. Doesn't get talked about as much as it doesn't have as many waifus
Tressa is hella cute. I honestly dont kinda like the style 8bit idea, it looks cute, yes, but they should used a style like the one of Paper Mario...
there are still occasional pitfalls they throw in like the direwolf, that ends up with 12 turns or so, so you need to break it fast, the 4 advanced guardians, and Galdera.
I really enjoyed it though
Weak story but likable characters. Wish there would have been more party interaction. Music is great and I enjoyed the art style. Battle system is engaging enough to be satisfying. Overall solid game. Hopefully they learned from this one and will only improve on the next game.
liked it for the first 10 hours, hate that all the chests in the game are absolutely useless and abilities are very repetitive
just started picked the rogue manlet
only like olberic so far gonna drop primrose and the alchemist
Good game just watch out when playing in bed
The music will put you to sleep
Not in a meme the game sucks way but in a
“They Literally design this shit as a sleep aid”
How would you imrpove it, the main one everybody says is party interactions, but would you include various scenes in the story for the three others in your party, which I think is about 35 combinations, would you go down the Xenoblade route, and add heart to hears in places, along with special combat win lines between 2-3 people, (I didn't think it worked was well in X due to only applying to half your party at a time, rather than all 3).
Alternatively there's the DA:O route where they'll just have dialogue talk whilst you're wandering about, but will get disrupted by battles etc.
If you went counter-clockwise with Therion then you're going to take a while to get other characters you like, but Tressa and Cyrus are coming up, although it is worth rotating so you don't have too many underlevelled chars
>droping alchemist
Why tho
>and the alchemist
You take that back. Alfyn is the best and you'd better treat him right.
DESU I got bored (because it was too fucking easy) so I gave up after some 15-16 hours, but I might give it another try after I finish DQ games and Alliance Alive HD.
I think I'll play a solo run(s). Seems more interesting.
youtube.com
Wrong OST from wrong game, but who cares lol
Piracy is theft, imagine if you didn't steal the game and bought it, we'd be getting a sequel.
>drunken bouncer is secretly a boss fight
Shit threw me for a loop, thought I was just under level the first time I tried to fight him.
Theres a lot you could do, they just limited themself with it because the art and by being lazy i think.
I mean you cook and shit on FFXV its was really a nice broworld comfy experience. That would be nice
>cooking and stuff
I never played ffxv but wouldn't that just devolve into material farming, I suppose they could do special scenes like the campfire in MGS3 depending on who's in your party, and what you cook
We're getting a sequel
on mobile
I thought it was pretty good. Best part was definitely the music.
>My blade is UNBENDING
>if you catch my drill
Not sure if bait but those are about a diamond dozen on this board
dime a dozen not diamond dozen you fucking retard
Definitely needs to improve the character interactions. Even Chrono Trigger dialogue would work well in this game.
My initial idea was that you have TWO versions of a character's storyline. One where the character is the main character, and one where the character is a supporting character.
For a supporting character, go for the 4 chapters of that character's story, with the main character helping out in the same way that Sora likes to help the other Disney characters in their worlds.
For the main character though...expand on that story with a full eight chapters. Add in a major twist or two you don't quite see coming...perhaps even bring in another continent or two for the expanded storyline.
I would also have it where selecting a protagonist would also determine who your final boss is, kinda like in Trials of Mana.
Oh and have the subquests actually involve your protagonists. The major issue I've had with this game is that once you go through a character's four chapters, he/she's pretty much a silent protagonist for the rest of the game.
Hey man it’s a doggy dog world
please tell me your baiting no one can be this fucking retarded
does it get harder? im about to pick up cyrus as the last member and so far, the game has been a complete cakewalk.
I'LL GET MY MONEY'S WORTH
im practically only using him as a healer my fault probably
I’m just playing doubles advocate
Learn to use concoct efficiently and he turns into the best character in the game.
leave him alone, he has a huge ship on his shoulder
>>/vg/
The game is not that good and it was forgotten here even after it was an exclusive game. Even the console war kiddies didn't use it that much.
To get the effect of the pixels spirited standing up is easy as shit and the rest was shaders. Other than that it looked ok
how dumb are you???? it's devil's advocate retard
Stop acting like a pre-Madonna
fuck you it's primadonna
I dropped it on Switch because by the time I'd done the first two missions for every character I was so preposterously overlevelled that there was absolutely no challenge to it.
Felt like it was balanced for you to ignore half the content and just beeline a handful of the stories rather than doing all eight.
Shame because I did enjoy it.
Maybe user's a retard and has 80HD
I might actually play it now that I can get it for free and disable the retarded blur and AA.
Don't really feel like going through all 8 routes, though.
your a retard its adhd asshole
Fuck you, get off your pedal stool
how many retards in this thread??? its pedestal
You don't have to get so mad, man. It's not like we're committing fella knees
i get mad cause your so retarded
Look, for all intensive purposes, my point was OP said “if you catch my drill”, so we gonna put the pedal to the medal in this convo or what
metal not medal retard
Had to actually google that one. Thanks for teaching me something new.
HAHAHAHAHAHAH ME? RETARDED??? HAHAHAHAHAH YOU FUCKING IDIOT? YOU ABSOULTE DAMN FOOL!!! HOW COULD I BE THE RETARD WHEN YOU, THIS ENTIRE TIME, HAVE BEEN USING THE WRONG FORM OF YOUR? IT SHOULD BE YOU'RE YOU ABSOLUTE DULLARD, BUT HERE YOU ARE USING YOUR! DON'T YOU REALIZE WHAT THAT MEANS? YOU CAN'T SAY "YOUR SO RETARDED,", THAT IMPLIES THAT I OWN SOMETHING CALLED A "SO RETARDED"!!! BUT THE ONLY ONE WHO OWNS ANY SUCH RETARDATION IS CLEARLY YOU!!! YOU COMPLETE CRETINOUS MORON!!! AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!
and its intents and purposes retard
Glad to see you’re not taking it for granite then
How many more of those do you have? I didn't intend this shit to go on for so long.
Got kinda bored of it once i found out how little interaction there is between characters, also the fact that you actually have 4 ways to interact with the overworld instead of 8
Truly this is a blessing in the skies
Its unwise to not play the fool in a game of shitpost attrition user
Chapter 2 does have a big difficulty spike if you haven't been to any of the shrines to learn secondary jobs yet, on top of that there's a general difficulty spike for the first few chapter 3s, and chapter 4s you do, along with a big spike for the secret bosses.
I can understand Cyrus, and Tressa's but H'aanit's is so fucking shit
H'aanit's COULD be better than knightboy's but you gotta play minmax pokemon for a while and that gets very repetitive after the first couple of times
A wider scope of abilities, but I haven't found anybody yet worth the hassle that isn't simply killable with Olberic as a warmaster or apoth.
Does the mobile prequel have a title? Any idea of a release window? Worldwide? Japan only with a translation way later never?
Keep Saying It.
Right now the prequel is called
"Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent."
Right now, the release window is for Japan sometime in 2019. So...within the next three months?
I might have to break my "no mobile games" rule for this one...but for the most part it's solid. The only real "gacha" element in this game is when you're recruiting characters. Unlike the Octopath Traveler game, there are over 50 characters...(I'm guessing it's either gonna be 64 (8 squared) or 80 (8 x10). You do not get to choose who your character is...your character is randomly selected.
Also...your first three companions are freebies (also random) giving you half a party (you have eight in a single party). But if you want MORE characters, you will need to use Rubies. You acquire them as you play the story, but you also can buy them. Again, the gacha element is recruiting the characters.
But it's the ONLY gacha element, and the only element which involves money. Your choice in this story determines who your main villain is.
For Glory = Arguste
For Wealth = Helmina
For Power = Titus
Each of the stories revolves around these three villains. And you'll be getting monthly episodic releases as you play. Also did I mention it's single player? So no online bullshit involved here.
The only people who like it are the ones who bought it because they have to cope with the fact they spent money on it.
If you weren't so new, you'd know he's taking it all from a pasta that is as old as the internet itself
heh
I accidentally p*rated it and enjoying it.
how do you pirate it "accidentally"
Woah, shit. Thanks for the information. It actually sounds good to me. I can withstand a hefty amount of money scheming from mobile games, so I bet I can enjoy this if we ever get it in English.
What kind of jrpg is octopath? Does it play like bravely default and early final fantasy titles in terms of dungeon delving?
Yes.
Is grinding necessary in order to beat bosses?
If you're smart about your party and skills but don't grind then you'll have some tough but possible fights. The worst thing is to focus too much one one character's story or fault to cycle out your party. Just jump around both stories and party arrangements and you should be fine.
Game is ass and I regret buying it on release. The character interactions are incredibly poorly done, only half of them are interesting, the chapters are repetitive and make you feel as if you are playing the game 32 times, and the side quests suck dick.
and I dont mind. It was a solid complete game with no DLC bullshit, what you saw is what you got and I liked what I got aside the grind for the real final boss.
I just wish other characters had a last chapter as good as Primrose's. Tressa's was especially shit.
I pirated it and tried to play it but it's just not clicking for me, the game keeps breaking my immersion something fierce. I started with Tressa and not only do her parents treat their daughter like any random travelling customer when you talk to them outside of cutscenes, but when I went to recruit Ophelia and Cyrus they just monologue at the lead party member and then join up, I have no idea what these three think of each other because they never talk to each other. It's batshit.
AH, THE THRILL OF THE FIGHT
Most of them did have a decent character to end up on, unfortunately for Tressa she had no major villains, and it would ruin Leonhart being redeemed for him to go rogue all of a sudden
Character interaction starts in chapter 2.
They couldn't figure out how to do personal stories while still giving you a party of characters so they went with a weird middle ground where everyone is pretending to be alone on their journey until they start talking to other party members.
The way you re-start stories at a tavern means they're just re-telling their stories to the other 7 characters who are chipping in, especially with the way party banter is also set inside a tavern too
That's the thing though, I can't sit through 5 more completely unconnected stories where the characters pretend to be going it solo, it's fucking weird.
If you really want to give the game a chance, chapter 2 is where it gets more interesting in story and gameplay. But that takes like 10 hours so if you really can't handle it, just stop now.
