if youve started with nexus mod manager already, jsut uninstall and reinstall, as others said, mod organizer uses its own directory to store mods. it doesnt change the actually skyrim install. this lets you add and remove mods without any left over garbage.

I had to just stop with the mods. It was to the point that I enjoyed looking at and installing new mods more than actually playing the game. Once I put my foot down and had a hard stop with looking for new mods, I was actually able to play and enjoy the game. I finished almost all of the base game content, all the vampire stuff, and basically just had the civil war questline and the final battle against the boss dragon left.

For the unticking thing, it will work but make sure you do FNIS/bodyslide/bash afterwards or you are gonna get instant crashes. Always use a new save as well with LL mods, any uninstalling of those I have never had a stable save afterwards.

How does bodyslide work? Currently what I'm doing is every time I pick up a new piece of armor I close the game and open the game and manually change that article to match my body. I'm guessing this isn't how this application was meant to be used.

Check the warning box in the top right. It's probably telling you that alternate start is to high in the load order.

SE is better for mods in general for the simple reason that you don't need the 50 mods related to fix stability issues and it doesn't run like shit the moment you slap an ENB on it.
Most mods that were on LE have been ported to SE.

Look, I've played oldrim for 500 hours, spent over 150 hours in the CK, had 30GB worth of mods and a sick ENB that killed my framerate.
Now, I have a very similar mod setup on SE which I use mostly as a mod heaven, except I have about twice the amount of mods, including all the lewd shit, an ENB with nearly all options enabled and that thing runs absolutely fine with higher ugrids, it loads quickly and it doesn't crash from random autosaves or when changing areas.
I have nothing to show, feel free to greentext me but that's just my own experience and that's why I recommend SE.

Do you have ENBboost? I have the same problem because the window mode in enbboost is not working correctly. Also, you may have to many animations for FNIS. You need xxxl version or something like that.

Vigor is better, which is funny because it's just a toned down Wildcat in some aspects, while making injuries last out of combat. Enai's combat mods only work when you don't try to modify encounters outside of it. Otherwise you have enemies that deal stupid amounts of damage and thousands of HP for no good reason.

only if you do it wrong. It's crazy how many still hold the believe that the core gamplay can't be fixed. It's true that many of the early gameplay mods were easy janky as shit or just tweaked some numbers but the newer ones are pretty great. Ultimate Combat for example still gets updated. Attack Commitment makes it so that neither you nor the NPCs can do a 360 during an attack animation. Ordinator fixes the perk progression, CACO the crafting system, Morrowloot the loot distribution and whatnot. If you're burned out on vanilla quests and dungeons, there's mods like Vigilant and Beyond Reach.

It's true that you have to spend a lot of time figuring out mod conflicts but the tools for that have been getting better over time, too.

it'll take over 40 hours of tinkering just to get your game running smooth assuming you have a good enough PC but it's all worth it.

Maybe 6 years ago that was true, but computers got better, nowadays it is not hard at all to get good performance with an enb unless your computer is as old as it was when skyrim came out.

I really do wish I enjoyed the survival mods like Frostfal and iNeed, but they just start to get on my nerves eventually

1. FPS are low if you tune up your ENB. Most people have a gameplay ENB if they want to play the game and a crippling one with all the effects if they want to take screenshots.

2. That depends. Most of my setups do that, but I had one that simply didn't crash. Then I updated all my mods and I was back to square one. It's definitely possible but Skyrim has and will always be a fickle mistress.

3. Considering that ENB gives you already a buttload of post processing options, that's quite unnecessary. Unless you don't know how to edit ENBs to your liking and need to apply filters to your screenshots in which case the town made you stoopid

Even a mild lighting ENB can still perform good on like a 980ti. I only get frame drops in areas where lots of trees can be seen in the distance since I have 3d tree lods.

Crashing still happens, but it's not as random as it once was and is generally just from long stretches of uninterrupted play. Script load seems to be the biggest factor in a crash for most people these days, rather then loading an area or whatever use to be an issue.

It's because the world of Skyrim isn't big enough for survival to ever be an issue, the next trader is just a around the next corner. That makes it so that your needs are annoying because they have no real impact on the gameplay, you just need to make sure you're stocked up enough for whatever you set out to do next. That being said, hunterborn and campfire are pretty neat and survival mods give you an excuse to use their features.

the trick to run skyrim at 60fps with enb without crashes is do not use heavy scripted mods, neither animations and do not overload your load order with textures

I used a combination of two textures for Draggo. His horns are from wearable horns and tails. Everything else is outfit related, I think.
The current version of the Draggo follower mod actually has a playable version of his race, so that's the easy way to become a draggolizzer I guess.

Not that guy but it can break some scripts due to them being loaded prematurely, although afaik there isn't any major scripts that are broken due to this so it doesn't really matter, it's also a lot of added strain on the engine which can increase instability but I'm not sure how big of an issue that is for SSE.
