You all talk a lot about Underrail, but what is the verdict on this game?
New update just added an isometric mode
ATOM RPG

I liked it. Very similar to Fallout 1 and 2, to the point of copying the UI for inventory (which was improved a bit here) and battle system. The main plot was just okay, but the characters and sidequests are great. If you're slav, you will notice a lot of cultural references here and there. Party members are entertaining, I just wish there was more female companions. Atom RPG is also more grounded than Fallout.
>If you're slav
You will hate the game with passion as it is chokefull of unfunny references and general soviet wanking.
>filled to the brim with nu-pop-culture-references
>more grounded than Fallout
The irony is commie red hot. Not uncommon on Yea Forums, though.
Par for the course for the Russian games tbqh
Pretty much yeah. There are some exceptions though, but the worst offenders will forever assault your psyche. I still cringe when i remember that Planet Alcatraz was a thing.
pretty good
solid gameplay and setting
not a ruskie so most of nu references i missed(thanks god)
still it have this soviet like atmosphere
>not even cover mechanics
Not even worth a pirate
its pretty fucking based
When I said grounded, I mean there isn't any of those power armor or the retro-futurism aspect of Fallout games. There are also some mutated enemies too, but none of that Fallout 3 giant supermutants.
also no mtx or skins or anything
like wtf is this shit
That just makes it more bland.
>Planet Alkatraz
Oh god, was that the one with the script done by Goblin?
>freedom to kekistan
heh
Nigger, I'm not convincing you to play the game. I'm just giving a description of the game based on my experience with it. Don't be butthurt just because you don't agree with my opinions.
Yeah, and all the prison memes you can imagine
It’s alright. You can really tell they havent made a lot of games.
I already forgot about that one, why you must be like this user
Fun, though glitchy. So just like most Slav games honestly
I had a great time in my last run till a glitch bricked my two companions. Devs personally offering to fix save files for the glitch on the forums, but that’s just too weird for me to do and play email tag for
I played through it and had fun for the most part. It's a solid 7 out of 10 and I'll keep an eye out for their upcoming projects.
I liked it until it went all SJW retard with the references
I'm Slav boomer, I usually dislike Soviet-related memery, but I like stuff in Atom since they picked plenty of boomer things which brought me lot of sweet nostalgia.
le cringesky
HOW DID THEY GET AWAY WITH THIS!?!
The plot was quite bad and the gameplay was garbage, still I don't regret playing it, as a whole it was decent. I feel like Atom 2 could be great.
Sovietsky Fallout. Or Fallout: Soviet Edition. Pretty damn good, and has a lot of references to russian pop-culture. Might be a bit wierd or non-detectable for westerners.
It's Fallout: USSR
lmao
Pretty good
I think it's hot garbage desu.
It's closer to Fallout 1 & 2 than Underrail in terms of quest resolution, amount of speech checks and C&C I guess. But it made no strides on improving the combat.
The combat in the original Fallouts was pretty basic even by late 90s standards. To make no strides on improving it in a game that's released 20 years later is retarded.
All that said, even the writing, which is supposed to be the main draw, cause shitty combat, isn't all that great. The whole Soviet thing gets old pretty quick and the world just ends up feeling bland and uninteresting.
The same criticism can be directed at Underrail (personally I think it has a way more interesting setting), but at least it has pretty fucking tight combat with, quite honestly, pretty incredible build diversity.
Atom RPG is just a disappointing failure. If you want a Fallout-esque RPG, Underrail is the only choice as far as I'm concerned, unfortunately, even Wasteland 2 beats Atom imo.
I never understood hate for wasteland 2, i played both release and directors cut editions and it was a pretty damn fine game in both iterations.
Ehhhh. It was okay. Problem of expectations mostly. Everyone was expecting the next Fallout, instead we got a solid, but not a great game. So everyone was a bit disappointed.
Meanwhile a Serb autist creates a game engine from the ground up, and creates a game that, frankly, surpasses Fallout 1 & 2 just like that. No marketing, no nothing. Just word of mouth on the autist boards and forums.
Point being, Atom is abysmal in comparison to Underrail, and far worse than Wasteland 2. At least Wasteland has a cover system.
Wasteland 3 looks so fucking good
What do you mean by "shitty combat"?
I mean it's virtually the same as the combat in Fallout 1 & 2.
And lets face it, the main draw of Fallout 1 & 2 wasn't the combat. It was decent, for its time, but you played those games for the setting, choices, character progression and (some) build diversity.
Atom has the combat copy pasted, without the things that actually made Fallout good.
If you wanna play a newer game that's like isometric Fallouts, there are far better alternatives to Atom.

>HEH HEH WE'RE SO FUN AND QUIRKY, LOOK AT HOW FUN AND QUIRKY WE ARE IN THIS POST APOCALYPTIC GAME
The game might turn out good, but the marketing is absolute dog shit.
I loved the first two fallouts, so I bought atom after seeing the viral shilling on Yea Forums.
I was pretty disappointed. The shitty ai and balancing makes combat a chore. The writing is pretty atrocious, and almost every conversation seems meaningless.
I uninstalled, and probably won't come back until substantial improvements come along, which I'm not holding my breath for.
>so I bought atom after seeing the viral shilling on Yea Forums
There's your fucking problem retard, Yea Forums is wrong again.
Well, at least the Underrail shilling is warranted. Go buy it. You won't regret it user, despite previous experiences.
I bought it a long time ago. I never finished it, but I intend to come back to it.
Based retard
You should. I hate to be a shill, but it really scratches that old school, hardcore itch. A game like Underrail is, unfortunately, a rarity nowadays.
>New update just added an isometric mode
I didn't even read this
>Spend time and resources on things no one asked for
>But hey, it'll be more like Fallout, that's what people want right?
God the developers of this game are straight up brainlets.
Did they improve the combat/perks?
Of course not.
Having that Fallout feel isn't gonna mater if you're game is straight up boring to play.
>better alternatives
Like what.
Underrail.
Wasteland 2.
Arcanum.
>If you wanna play a newer game that's like isometric Fallouts, there are far better alternatives to Atom.
Such as?
I quit playing when my high charisma character somehow couldn't convince some shit retarded farmers to just chill the fuck out and not force me to slaughter all of them. Fuck this shitty game.
>BROWN 'N' BLOOM WHY DON'T GAMES HAVE COLORS ANYMORE FUCK EA AND FUCK UBISOFT
-Yea Forums 10 years ago
>REEEEEE PINK 'N' PURPLE WHY DO GAMES HAVE COLORS NOW FUCK EA AND FUCK UBISOFT
-Yea Forums now
oh god i just realized it's because the shitposters now grew up on brown n bloom
>Arcanum
>alternative
Its a wonderful game, but certainly its not an alternative.
>wasteland
>underrail
No appeal whatsoever.
you can fuck a lot of women
two barely legal girls too
Sold.
Pretty good but there is a lack of content. It needs more weapons, enemies, crafting and other stuffs.
Wasn't this broken at launch? How is it now?
Did they improve the translation or does it still read like it ran through google translate a couple of times?
Sold
I wonder if Americans feel the same towards F2.
Yep, that was my impression too. I'm waiting inevitable directors cut to give it another try.
Some. It's the most legitimate complaint about the game but can be easily ignored.
I've been slowly playing it for a couple months. The new isometric mode is actually great, except it doesn't do the fallout thing where you can always see even when blocked by architecture. The game was honestly really ugly but the isometric mode actually makes it look pretty nice, it is hard to explain in words.
Ah. Then disregard what I said.
Also, I usually play gunslingers in these types of games but the pistols in ATOM seem so weak. Do they and the perks get better or should I start pumping points into rifles
bump, I also want to know
