How bad is it?

I'm enjoying it, though I'm taking a break so I can finish Remnant.

It's great actually.

It's the best game Spiders has ever published

Boring, reminds me of Dragon Age 2.

mediocre rpg bloated with jank

like the opposite of bad

It's the best game this year.

Why?

The character you play as is great, an established voiced character thats as well developed as his companions. Voice acting and animations are good(or well at least work better than bioware), and work to really sell the cutscenes. Story is solid in the sense that you will develop strong emotions about the characters and there are no major plot holes. General world building is also pretty good and they clearly tried their best to immerse you in the world. Tied to that is the character design, even as all humans the factions are immediately noticeable by their very well-designed gear and social attitudes. Combat is serviceable. Can be kinda jank at times and is fairly exploitable but it's at the very least good enough. Biggest weak point for me is the overabundance of combat dialogue from your companions(they have very limited lines) and the amount of running around you do for sidequests. The worst offenders being ones where you have to return to a character thats a fair distance away from a travel point multiple times in one quest.

Have you played any other games from the developer? Greedfall is a vast improvement.

Still not called Creedfall.
0/10

It's your shittiest character to latch onto so far.

What!

Isn't

Is their mars game worth playing?

He only likes strong warrior women

the first one?
Nah
the second one?
Yeah

It's very janky but fun

Great atmosphere. Very stylish. Gameplay always speaks to me. Just go have a look.

Does it have a proper conclusion to the story?
I can't stand when games don't.

Supporting it so we get more Bioware-like games since Bioware is going down the shitter.

I've seen people say it has multiple endings.

I'm at the settler city right now. I like mid-2000 Bioware games and so far this is fun.
We need more devs that make games in this niche.

How're their other games?

Yeah but this sheboon ain't pretty.

who would've guessed that cutting out all the bullshit from AAA games and making a customizable main character with a preset personality is the key to making a perfect modern action rpg

bad

I like Greedfall but I wouldn't call it best game of the year when shit like dmc5 or Pathologic 2 came out.

Haven't played War Logs so I don't know if there is some overarching plot but Technomancer makes it clear that humanity ain't gonna leave Mars for a while.

I just finished the Technomancer, one of their other games. It’s one of those bizarre cases where while I did end up enjoying it overall, there’s enough Issues where I can’t recommend it unless you really dig BioWare style RPGs. The world, lore, combat, and some characters can be good, but it’s so fucking repetitive and pretty limited long term when it comes to your actual choice power, with only a few major calls here and there. It is also padded to all hell if you’re someone who likes doing all the quests. Lots of backtracking to fight the same enemies and talk to the same people over and over again.

And the voice acting sucks.

Kill yourself romancenigger. Go shill for trannypunk some more.

Neat ideas but bad gameplay.

No!

Still as jank but not as good. They did get better with each game and comparing their first ones to greedfall it shows.

>spec into magic and guns
I am become death

I'm finding it pretty boring. It feels like a $29 game. The world is beautiful for a bit, then really samey. Every place and building looks every other place and building. There's no real environmental differences. The dialog is completely average. It's not horrible and it's not great. You'll be skipping 90% of it. The combat is....boring for the most part but occasionally fun?

Those are very vague and some are straight-up wrong - how the fuck is it stylish? It looks and feels like desaturated jank.

>The combat is....boring for the most part but occasionally fun?
You basically have a Strong attack and a Weak attack. Magic, guns, melee it doesn't matter. They all play the same. You also only every get like 5 or 6 spells and they're the most boring and uninspired "spells" possible. You get: Melee but high damage spell, long range but weak spell, paralyze spell, shield spell, heal spell and AOE big spell. It's fast paced and frenetic for mage gameplay, but boring as fuck.

It's ok. Combat is very simpe, stasis is completely OP. Problem is, the charcters aren't really al that interesting and some qests contain a myriad of backtracking. The abilities stuff (vigor and such) feels pretty tacked on.
Fine for a playthrough.

>the charcters aren't really al that interesting and some qests contain a myriad of backtracking
The characters are completely nondescript, there's nothing to really set them apart from one another or any other random npc. It's like an even more hollow BioWare game.

Game seems to be fairly easy to mod so it could potentially get a pretty good modding community behind it. I plan on buying it once it goes on sale so they have time to fix it up a bit.

It's okay but I'm starting to get pretty worn out of it and I fear that there's still much more game to go. Most quests lack an x-factor to make them truly interesting. Typically the steps of the quest will be laid out in detail at the very start and then you just follow through. Talk to x, talk to y, go to z and then go back to x and that's it. Just like planned. There's rarely any intraquest development or twists, even when you're pulling out the most intricate schemes it just works out. Open worlds zones are also pointless because they offer nothing but padding. You never find anything there that you weren't already looking for. If you arrive at a town too early it's just dead. No quests, no one to talk to. You don't find quests or curated content in the wild either. Just bonfires, mob packs and the other "points of interest". Most zones are also completely open with no development or progression from the moment you get there. The only reason you don't explore further is because, after you've played a bit, you can be sure that if you find something it will be deactivated until you get the quest to turn it on so you might as well wait. Overall the game could use a serious trimming.

Is there still no fix for the trials by the water quest?

There's a way to avoid it but otherwise, no.

So how is it compared to Elex or Risen? Should be the closest comparison.

Mid-2000 budget Bioware. That's how it plays.

Feels a bit more polished than both to be honest, but not by much.

I don't understand the characterizations. Black tribal men with facepaint and weird Scottish sounding accents.

It's as if the factions are all fictional, can you believe it?

It's hard to say.

It's basically a mid 2000's bioware game. If you liked Kotor, Jade Empire and ME1, then it's a great game.

>here, have this role playing game!
>except you have to play this role we already wrote for you!
Who likes that? Silent protag, and ideally, silent dialogue, with extensive conversation options and choice&consequence is always superior.

When does the bug get triggered?
I informed constantin about the mountain god and I'm doing the find the healers thingy, is the bug later on or am I fucked?

If you got the treason quest you should be ok

Thanks, user
You mean the coup, right?I already done that if that's the case.

I normally know if I'm gonna like a game based on the first few seconds of gameplay I see.

Bump
