Moderate-size cities to battle in, it really doesn't have to be THAT fucking big, it's a 14 player Battle Royale, not 50 or 100 players.

Add in RPG elements for the mages to level up.

Symphogear has Kino season 1, Kino season 2, kinda bad but cool moments season 3, 7/10 season 4, and season 5 is just finishing up now but it is like 12/10 perfect godlike best show ever.

What is even the failures of open world, other than the fact that designers leave them empty, are too packed with filler, or otherwise just isn't appreciated by a large number of people? It seems like a lot of them are ruined when you give the player a checklist, and it ends up turning the game into a boring easter egg hunt instead of an exploration game.
