I've been playing it on Switch and I'm enjoying it. The x3 speed function makes grinding easier and the no-combat function is also useful at times.

yes. i'm playing through it on PS4 and have to say that 3x speed alone makes the game way more fun to play. no random encounters lets me explore and check out the areas without constantly getting interrupted.

Yes, it's worth playing.
Switch doesn't really have any advantages over the PC version, except for not using the shitty cloud save system (which you can ignore anyway). PC version also works with mods. I do recommend playing Switch or PC over the PS1 version though.

Yes it is, it’s different than 6. It’s an epic story, with cliches and it’s own shit. One of the greatest games ever made, I think it’s a beautiful game aside from the sprites. Music is awesome. Play it on a system that is most comfortable. I play it on PSP

The PS1 version will always be the definitive version but the Switch/Xbone/PS4 version ain't that bad, though it adds a lot of unnecessary features which IMO ruin the game. Just steer clear of the Steam port and you should be fine.

A cartoony artstyle fits the FFVII world so much. Choosing the remake (and anything else in the compilation really, ever since AC) to be photorealistic makes the tonal shifts of the original impossible and messes with the atmosphere and character that it managed to generate.

Switch version is the best version after the original PS1 version because it doesn't have the music bug. So if you do get it, get the Switch version.

It's good user. Not the 10/10 masterpiece and if i'm honest i'm still lost on whether it jenova or Sephiroth or Sephiroth merged/influence by jenova or what.
Also wish that Shinra were the main antagonists over sephiroth. Settings cool though and cast is likable so it's worth it overall

Yup. REALISM and Anime do not fucking mix. Final Fantasy looks so fucking dumb after Advent Children, they just keep copying that awful style.
The MMOs being the only exceptions. I do hope the rumors about FF16 being a YoshiP high fantasy game are true. It will be the first offline FF game worth playing since 10.
