Won't happen, Alliance already have two types of humans. There's no viable candidates for Forsaken leader on Horde side, and Calia would serve as a bridge to explain the truce between the factions. Having the Forsaken stay united while some accepting and others rejecting the "gift" is also way more interesting than just dividing them between Tim Burton evil scientist Forsaken and the good guys on the Alliance who found the light again.

In that case the "evil" Forsaken would also just keep following Sylvanas and there wouldn't be any more Forsaken on the Horde to begin with.

No she makes sense as a horde faction leader in a game where the factions dont fight, if they are going to keep fighting because blizzard is too lazy to change gameplay systems then it wont make sense.

Thing is, they already changed gameplay systems to an extent. No more PvP servers, optional War Mode, a raid where you play as the opposite faction for half of it.

The itch for actually new content will start and people will either quit and play other games or return to retail in 8.3 or 9.0.

BfA's progression systems, time gating and main storyline are shit that ruin what would have otherwise been a good, even great expansion, but it's nowhere near the gutted husk that was WoD.

When is Blizz gonna start from scratch and make a new game/engine so player characters no longer look like textured trash? They already have the HOTS character team (or whats left of it) that made top-tier 3d models that don't go into uncanny valley and the willingness there to not SJW their designs. People are more than willing these days to have "gaming" pcs so running on Brazilians toasters is no longer a priority. Then there's the case of pvp being proven time and again a shit thing to consider in the wide spectrum of things, including the forced two faction conflict no one cared for as the game went on.

I mean, people were happy at the original WoW concept are where horde and alliance races were originally shown partied together. Not to mention new or modified race concepts are hamstrung because the ideas have time and again said they're not sure what to do for the Alliance at this point so it also fucks over the horde with races ideas for the sake of content equality.

Calia was reintroduced in Legion, had an entire buildup in the prequel novel, was mentioned again after Dazar'alor and after the Derek cinematic and is now getting a unique model, which virtually only racial leaders get.

Garrosh also had the entirety of WOTLK to be built up as a potential Warchief. I'll give you Cairne though, having him get killed off in a book and replaced with Baine was pretty dumb but at least people were aware of Baine's existence in-game since you met him pretty early in the Tauren starting zone.

Nathanos is obviously being set up to betray Sylvanas. Voss showed more leadership qualities with just Stone and Zelling than Calia has with any of the Forsaken.

Saurfang was never named leader and has constantly been trying to off himself and running off to not lead the Orcs. Neither Rokhan or Gadrin were ever made leader either, and even if Rokhan is made leader soon, that still means the Trolls were leaderless for like four years, so the Forsaken can have it the same. And they do have options, like who I mentioned before, and they have more small-name characters that could step up, hell I'd sooner take Faol over Calia. Frankly, playing classic, Bethor Iceshard comes off more like the leader of the city than Sylvanas does. And as for options, Blizzard just doesn't care, there are only like three Orc characters of note left.

The quality, just the raw quality, is in the gutter. This expac has the worst writing of anything in the entire Warcraft franchise by far. The sad part is this is the most story-focused expac we've ever had as well, so it sucks extra hard. I'm sure Blizzard is kicking themselves over it, too, because it meant they couldn't pull a Cataclysm/WoD and just cut tons of shit while they work on the next expac, they had to continue going full steam ahead on this one. Believe it or not, Blizzard put a lot behind this shitty writing, I would hope they put a sufficient amount of blame on her for fucking them over for that trust.

This is something that they really should do, but I doubt that they are able to do something about it. Leveling right now is just a big clusterfuck. And half of the problem because this game stay alive for 15 years, they have too much available content, too many levels and so on. New players just can't stick with this world. They need a fresh start but I think they fear that everything would collapse if they cut something.

How are people like this getting into the lead writer position? And even more important, how do they keep that position?

If blizzard was smart, they would use N'zoth to bring out WoW2. Restart everyone at level 1. Do a small,like year time skip from the end of BfA, new players start on Azeroth as a new character, old characters can choose to import their WoW character but spend the first 10 or 20 levels in a small Shadowlands zone, before being revived into the mortal world. This would allow a fresh start, new graphics, stable quest lines, give an actual lore based reason for the jump to WoW2, and make sense as the Shadowlands is definately coming.

Oh man, I've been playing Retail for the first time since Cata so I don't outlevel my brother in Classic and I was so fucking lost with the WoD to Legion transition. The whole of the endgame story leading into Legion was in the Legendary ring quest, which they've removed from the game.

Everything was fine in BC and WotLK because there wasn't that much of the content. Azeroth slowly died but it's still was a place where majority of players start, outland was still an actual zone with many active players where you can do something. And things plays the same with each new expansion. And now they have like 7 expansions and most of them are empty, players gaining level as fast as they can, skipping zones and expansions. This problem is more complex and even squshing level wouldn't do match.

That's what happened to me. It seems in classic you don't quest in one zone then move on to another like the game since TBC or WotLK. It's more like doing multiple zones at the same time. I'm currently questing in Feralas, Tanaris and Searing Gorge, quests in Feralas and Tanaris are orange or red, but quests in Searing Gorge are yellow. I cleared the quests in SG and leveled up, got new quests that are orange or red, but quests in Feralas and Tanaris turned yellow so I went there and keep doing quest. Annoying, but kind of fun.

Warcraft's story hasn't been good since TBC. TBC showed the first cracks with Illidan and company going from anti-heroes who were actually in the right more often than not into stock villains to fill raids, the blood elves still being in Quel'thalas and joining the Horde for no other reason than everyone loving Thrall's big green dick, the designated "good guys" getting this weird plot omniscience where they all know the exact "correct" position to take on everything instead of being motivated by their own agendas, maybe most exemplified by the introduction of the fucking Naaru, which are essentially Demons of the Holy Light who are, against all odds, completely neutral, completely understanding of everyone's position, are perfectly willing to work with those tainted by dark magics and apparently don't care about spreading their fucking religion.

Then we had Wrath of the Lich King where the writers all had a massive collective brain fart and forgot that Ner'zhul was the Lich King (they had even put a quest in the Thousand Needles where you would get teleported to Orgrimmar with a "I Am Stupid" debuff if you failed to identify the Lich King as Ner'zhul back in Vanilla, if you're unaware of how obvious this was) and did a whole fucking arc around fucking Arthas being the Lich King even though his soul was stolen by Frostmourne. There's the first hints that Blizzard was forgetting that the Forsaken were simply allied with the Horde and not actually a part of it. There's also the first bits of Garrosh Hellscream acting like a bloodthirsty asshole even though the orcs were only supposed to have had their bloodlust from demonic corruption that was ended by Grom?

FFXIV player here, I kinda want to give Classic and WoW in general a try since I was in the RO crowd back when Vanilla was released.

I kind of want to roll a healer, but I don't really know how healing work in Classic, is it mostly just a lot of burst healing? or there's some classes that focus more on shield and/or Heal over time?

If it can help, my favorite classes ever in a MMO was the Chanter of AION, it was a healer that focused on melee damage and buffing the party and it used a 2h staff, I really loved it.

healers are kinda boring and not fleshed out in classic when it comes to PVE healing. most rely on a basic heal and maybe a secondary heal like chainheal or a dot.
retail has more defined healers including healers that heal by doing damage and absorption based predictive healing.

Classic is dead, Blizz made a huge marketing blitz now you hardly see anyone talking about it.
