1st year Medical Student here. My brain is so fucking smashed most of the time that I don't even have the energy to play mindless AAA games like Assassin's Creed Odyssey or Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
All I'm looking for now is comfy games with great settings that I can fit into my schedule or any game that can help me relax after 8 hours of cadaver dissection. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I'm legitimately asking for recommendations. I've been browsing Yea Forums for around 5 years now.

Anodyne 2 has some pretty chill music and atmosphere

Unironically nintendo shit, like a Switch
they're good for 10-15 minute bursts, and you'll find other students to play Smash, Minecraft, and Mario Kart with
Elijah Gray
I can't believe I haven't seen this until now. Currently looking it up. Thanks a lot.

Get yourself some VNs. Ace Attorney Trilogy, Danganronpa, 999. Don't fall for the "setting" jew, it's empty promises that you have to fulfill in your head. Get yourself a story that respects your time
Landon Thompson
Animal crossing Sid Meier simgolf Zelda Breath of the Wild Super Mario odyssey Splatoon 2
Basically just buy a switch, it’s comfy game central
Gabriel Reed
That's that autism game, right?
Justin Young
Mad because OP’s successfully pursuing a fulfilling lifestyle I see
Leo Torres
I don't have autism, I've never even met a psychiatrist!
Kevin Hill
Physician since 2015 here. Stop whining, the harder is when you work.
For recommendation, play nuDOOM or Wolfenstein TNO and TOB.
Wyatt Hill
I really appreciate suggesting getting a Switch especially since the Lite just came out. Unfortunately, I'm solely relying on scholarships to get through Medical School and I (luckily) have a gaming pc with a GTX 1070. So I'd really prefer PC games. I'll definitely consider getting a Switch in the future though, so thank you.

Can you drop some study tips? I'm a psych grad who miraculously got into a decent medical school, but my review methods are fucked and ineffective, man.
William Hughes
Katamari Damacy
Nolan Flores
Try vermintide 2 then, if you haven't.
Leo Gonzalez
You signed up to become a doctor. You better adapt to a life of constant stress or just drop out. You won't have much time for leisure.
Samuel Jenkins
I graduated in Switzerland. It's probably very different in the US. What's a psych grad ?
Luke Roberts
I've been planning to play that for a while now. Thanks for reminding me. Might finally buy it.
Law School student here. I've always had one hour of free game time in my schedule for some nightly TF2. Just git gud at time management user. Organize your shit.
It's wrong. You can adapt easily. I'm 30 and I play every day. It's different if you want to do surgery. The real challenge is when you have a child. That is the most time consuming challenge of one's life.
David Barnes
How do your organize your time?

A person with a degree in Psychology. Also, I'm studying in a thirdworld shithole but we're admittedly pretty good in handling Public Health (since we need that the most right now). Also noticed that we're studying cadavers way ahead of other schools (e.g. it's barely two months in and we've already identified every muscle in the upper and lower extremities and have met our first patient as well as discussed everything about Dermatology).
I'm not bragging, I really just can't adjust to such a high volume of things to remember in a such a short time.
Jonathan Scott
It's subsequently the most beautiful thing as well as the most challenging thing I have ever faced in my life. You should try to study some anatomy to see if it interests you, user.
Eli Kelly
>one hour of free time >'git gud at time management'
Ah, we must have different medical school requirements. Where I'm from, we need to take a "preliminary" course or undergraduate course before we can enroll into Medical School. So we have to have a degree first. Most of my classmates obviously chose undergraduate degrees which are highly related to Medicine so they have lots of stock knowledge already. I, however, enrolled in Psychology which is literally one of the most theoretical courses out there so I find myself struggling most of the time.

Wake up at ~6 Finish breakfast, quick review from last night's study, bathroom breaks all done before 7 Classes and study promptly take up all time from 9am - 5pm, take half an hour out to eat in between 6pm - 8pm for all homework/study inquiries, finish dinner before 9 At 9 just take half an hour to shower/dinner, brush teeth, then study everything in general until 10 Then I play all the way down to 11pm, where afterwards I take a 15 minute fap mostly hmaf or western stuff and go to sleep. 7 and a halfish hours of sleep is manageable if you wake yourself up an hour earlier to stop being a little whiny zombie BITCH.
Unless you're trying to flunk law school, every single hour of free time you have should be used productively. I'm in the higher half ranks of my class, dabbing on socialfags, and live a pretty content life.
>And it released on Steam too, if I remember correctly? Yes, it's an HD remaster and it runs perfectly.
Jaxon Mitchell
Sounds retarded. Got into med school just after college (or whatever it's called). Well good luck then. For tips I don't have a lot. Don't overwork yourself. In my school, there were retards that went to the library until closure (10 pm). Most of the time, they weren't really working but looking at other students, giggling and chatting. If you have courses m, don't work more than 3 hours after class. Get enough sleep, take a half day or full day break every week when you're in pre exam reviews.
Grayson Barnes
Damn, I'm jealous. I'm probably bottom 20% in my class. My father and my brother are lawyers, too. I sometimes wish I chose law school.
Anyways, thank you for the advice.
Dominic Hall
No time to exercise?
Chase Nguyen
Also, when you're studying, take some time to let informations sink into your memory. Don't go over different courses too fast.
Dylan Jackson
>take some time to let informations sink into your memory
Huh, I noticed I studied better when I had this mindset the past month, too. Most of the time I get anxious and rush through things because I see my classmates going by topics so fast. It feels good to hear this from a doctor. Thanks a lot.

Just study more user. I recommend flash cards, post-it notes all over your room. Above your bed. Commit to it. Ignore everything else.
I heard med school is almost exclusively memorization, so that can really really help you out.
But seriously, do stuff life recite everything you learned in simplified one-liners every day, then by the end of the semester you should have written a book-worth of study notes, stickies, and flashcards that you can easily review and crush just about any test.
Literally just don't eat (too harmful) garbage. Walking from place to place really is enough to keep you in shape. Though, I've always been slightly underweight since my teen years, so maybe I just have a genetic advantage there.
>Waa waa I have dissection Fucking first years. At least wait until you've done step until you start bitching. Go fuck yourself. >t. 4th year in ERAS hell
Anthony Green
I know I'm just adjusting. And I know I'll get fucked by clerkship or residency. I just want game recommendations. Do you have any?
You could try hollow knight user, combat is methodical but not too paused, exploration can be relaxing but also stimulating, the art is excellent, and overall it has a lot of SOUL.
Jordan Cook
Not him but the brain requires repetition in order to facilitate long-term potentiation, as well as regular and healthy sleep in order to encode information into long-term memory. Cramming is bad, do not try to force a lot of info into your head within a short time. Mnemonics are great study tools. >t. experimental psych m.a.
Charles Green
>Started playing HK in short bursts this year >Having a lot of fun >Stopped playing for a few weeks >Don't remember where I am not what was I doing >Lose all interest in the game I was like 20 hours in, I'm not in the mood to restart from zero
A lot of people (aka most) don't know how to organize themselves. A few years ago I had to juggle a full time job, traveling across the country 4 months a year due to said job, studying for my masters and training for my first half marathon. The key is to prioritize and make a schedule: if I have to do A and have X hours, then that means I have to do B in Y hours.
Mason Wright
Here's to us psych majors. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks a lot.
Christian Myers
unironically taking a stroll through HL2 is a good and relaxing time
