trigun if you don't mind the spaghetti western aesthetic crossed with sci-fi
cowboy bebop is kinda similar but entirely unique in its own way, make sure you watch the movie (knockin' on heaven's door) as well
death note is pretty alright, all the mind-games and shit make for a very entertaining and compelling watch
a personal recommendation of mine is legend of the galactic heroes, but it's hardly "entry level" because it's 110 episodes long; it's a pretty fucking massive space opera with plenty of political intrigue, a very strong cast and some very good explorations of what it means to go to war and it definitely does not shy away from the consequences

I think it was more eerie when it was just a rectangular prism honestly, but the rebuild drill is definitely better
