Weird. I was constantly 1 shotting people with her and she would dodge everything. I'd use her, deitrich, eiger, and decker/gunner pc and just mowed down the game pretty easy. i like blitz too but he's doesn't bring anything special to the table, i think there's even a hireable decker merc better than him as well.

It's too bad no one ever made modules for these games. They were pretty fun. I liked the turn-based combat. I've since discovered that turn-based combat is actually pretty rare in WRPGs, which is disappointing.

I tried playing battletech since it was in my steam library. Holy hell, midway through the first mission I gave up. It was a combination of UX being awful and the game not bothering to explain any of the strategy besides "sprinting makes you harder to hit". What do different weapons do? How does heat work? Whats all this about targeting bodyparts? Plus the forums say only having four pilots on your side makes the game dull.

I love Eiger as a character because they made this big standard stronk perfect female soldier and you can tell her off in every single scene if you like it and she'll warm up to you and respect you due to that.

Yeah the PC was great. I think giving them a more defined backstory was a good choice although it did lessen roleplaying freedom a little.

Also, Duncan was a great character and gets way too much shit.

All this happens in one night. You'd be pissed off too if it happened to you. His gradual acceptance of his situation and bonding with PC made him really endearing imo.

Definitely great, because the whole situation is perfectly fine for both the player and the PC. Getting all mixed up in some craziness that forces you to become a runner is exactly the kind of segue you'd expect, but it's weird for the PC to be so okay with it. Duncan points out that it's weird that the PC is so okay with it, and then it turns out the PC had no life, and was basically not a person anyway.

I guess I've talked myself into playing it again, oh well, rifle build is easy enough to blast through the entire thing quick enough.

I don't get the ass pain over Isobel. Her being Ethiopian(?) is pretty irrelevant to the plot and she's not particularly SJWish. Her growing up in the Walled City has a way larger impact in the game. Is this about her being extremely talented as well as black? Because your entire party is supposed to be awesome at their particular thing.

I don't get why everyone in game and out of game has such a problem with Duncan, his behavior made sense to me and I thought some of his conversations were very interesting.
Isobel doesn't learn anything from her side mission, and behaves like a petulant child, while Gobbet's mission follows an impressive arc in which she manages to grow up, break with the past and take responsibility in a way that makes her a more charismatic character to the average player.
I didn't have a problem with her, but I remember her side mission not impressing me compared to Gobbet's.

Neither do Gaichu or Racter. Also, I don't mind people not liking her, however, people were hating on her before the game even released. I actually went into the game expecting her to be a preach SJW shoe-in due to all the bullshit on this board. She turned out to be fine, not my favorite character by a mile, but not particularly bad either. I'm curious as to where this idea of her sprung from, that people are warned about how horrible she supposedly is before they play the game.
