Is the only good Savage Jho weapon his LBG? Everything else looks outclassed by other weapons. I've got that on right now and don't know what mods to use it with because I mostly use HBG but Jho's seems trash thanks to cluster nerf
>tfw blocked Zinogre's thunder paws three times in a row
I completely forgot GS had a block
Jho HH is always decent, having Atk Up L is all that's really needed for a decent horn and Elderseal has always been highly underrated to me
You better put 2 x's in each of their eyes!

Shara alpha probably, there's a lot of good stuff though and it sucks that proper transmog isn't in
>most wanted DLC
An actual 4th gen rep that isn't from X/XX
Pretty much.
raise forest if you want to fight yian/scarred garuga and zinogre, raise desert for black diablos and vale for brute tigrex
You can't raise them all, so chose one or two
That's a good slut but not the kind I asked for
All of his weapons are still very good and he still has arguably the best HBG in the game.
Okay
Imagine having sex with Shara haha that'd be soooo craaaazy
>xeno's tab on the field guide still says "researching"
bros...
>optional shara
>went from 40 minutes on the first run to 20 minutes
did the story one have bloated HP or something?
You got better at the fight
>still farming Velkhana
>gotten both gold crowns, small and large
>still no fucking Velkhana Crystal
Really want to make shrieking legiana armor. Is it good for anything else other than bow?
>Guiding Lands gathering levels reset
just trade in based factory man tickets for it
The Velkhana rare isn't an option at the Melder.
Wait, that shit happens? when?
Does stamina thief work on elders dragons?
> *toot*
Every time
I love how this sword matches the armor set. Also I have NINE HUNDRED AND SIXTY THUNDER.
However, we can go EVEN HIGHER
even shara one is
>-15 fire
AND THIS......IS TO GO FURTHER.....BEYOND
2 namie/2 velk?
I guess it's nice for numbers, but the frostcraft bonus is just better isn't it
>Acidic Glavenus's defense down reduces your defence by a whopping 100.
Put those Def Lock jewels to good use, pard!
When the baseline for defense in MR is 1000~ -100 defense isn't that big of a deal
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
You're right. Frostcraft is way better. I get +1k combined damage on a Frostcraft TCS with Kirin's GS. I just wanted to see how high this goes
Is there a reason that in every hunt I’ve ever done online the monster only ever targets me? I’m not exaggerating, every online hunt I do the monster is aggroed on me for the entire duration. It’s attacks hit other players sure but not once are those attacks ever actually targeting them.
god I love navels
Eat an adamant seed, user.
When you max out the bar for a given type it resets and spawn a node that gives a guaranteed T4 material.
I just popped in this thread to say I don't actually play any MH since 3U but is that a little tuft of pubes on the OP or is it shading?
Where do you get things like the Heavy Dragonvein Bone and Dragonvein Solidbone?
From monsters of a specific tier in the Guiding Lands?
post them kill screens
hammer
seething bazel
tigrex
seregios, but I'd settle for more seething invasions
I havent played this game in like a year. Is it easy to pick back up?
the heavy bowgun seems like a lot of fun, but managing ammo and shit seems like not a lot of fun
shading
silly 6 that's not a rat
Just level up bone piles inthe guiding lands to gt them1
There's really not a lot of managing to do.
New version when?
It's not there for me yet, I wanna get Velkhana's gear before continuing because it's cool.
That probably depends on your weapon, some have a lot more memorization/muscle memory than others. Plus the expansion just came out for consoles which renders all equipment than isn't decorations useless.
Aw man.
It takes one button press to craft all your ammo retard. Are you so incapable to press one button every couple minutes, you aren't doing much button mashing while playing guns either compared to blademaster.
velkhana is on the end of the story so you're genuinely just wasting your time

Is stamina buff big in world?
Theres no horn with stamina and attack
yes, elders can get tired just like every other monster
Unlike in older games, elders can get tired in World. Stamina thief probably works.
i am very based i know
No not really since horn's stamina buff was nerfed overall in World. But it's still useful sometimes since it's on all the good all wind negate horns.
Holy fuck
Spice Cat is a beautiful baby
What GS set should I be using against velkhana
Jagras or Acidic Glavenus.
>speed buff from hh echo waves + self buff song

dats cute
>someone said try a elemental weapon vs ebony odogaron
>Make the coral pukei GS
>Almost 1k damage on TCS weakspot headshot crits
Holy FUCK I'm only wearing glavenus armor.
Is this just purple sharpness or is elemental gs no longer a meme?
>Lunastra tool specialist secret
I wanna abuse this so bad but fuck fighting her
bro... i deal like 1400 dmg on my tcs, the final hit i mean, not including the first two charges and i just use brute tigrex set
They went out of their way to buff elements because of how useless it was in the base game, but it seems like you still need to really build yourself around it
I was using tigrex gs and only glavenus armor before, swapping to coral pukei doubled my damage vs ebony odo.
then it was prob the element desu. it was buffed yea. also tigrex gs has negative 30 affinity iirc so you may have crit

Got a gem from my first shara hunt, what should I use it on?
I'm nominating you for best post on the internet 2019.
Depends on what weapon you mainly use
>there are people who don't know you can mine Rado and Uragaan's backs
Is the deviljho gs okay or should I skip it and get a shara gs?
>there are people that dont know mining zinogre's back lowers his charge
But seriously, theres not really a point with rado/ura
>raw oriented weapons are the best until Ruiner
>lbg has the best spread lbg in the game
>braces have crit boost 2
You got a lot of tasty options
Bow, LS, and hammer.
>full esurient beta

This is a fucking god tier loadout. All the KOs and exhaustion! Autoreleoad slicing shots too? You know it. Poison and sleep shots? Yessir. Competent Spread 3? Yuppers. Try a loadout with powerbarrel, wyvernheart mod, reload mod x2 and shield. Trust me.
>MINING
So does anyone know if a crit element dual blade build stacking that specific element is worth doing or does your typical DPS raw dual blade build better?
Haven't gotten to Zinogre yet but I've gotten a fair bit rare bones and ore by mining off the other two, doesn't hurt to have extra bones and minerals
>Theres no horn with stamina and attack
shara
The hammer is great, so is the GS. Cant speak for other weapond
Hammer looks really cool and is one of the best
Personally I'd go with hammer since I also use hammer
>Mining zinorge's back
>Mining

Yes, it gets the point across faster and simpler than saying "catching thunderbugs on his back"
Somebody halp pls
uwu
can you still do it? it doesn't give me any prompt
Mining Uragaan's back is the best source of Lava Nuggets. Not much needed them in World but in Gen/GU fucking everything needed them
No only the first charge if you use it as an unsheathing attack
FUCKING VAAL JUST GIVE ME YOUR GOD DAMNED FANGS ALREADY FUCK
Poor Odog always getting bullied. Wonder what his last thoughts were before the rocks granted him sweet release.

What’s the best Lance in Iceborne for early late-game
Thats what i thought. I made velkhana focus set for GS for hit and run which i like a lot because it reminds me of FU
Kulu
I just used the final chrome drill until I got sharas lance and it worked just fine for me
Is Jho's LBG the best if I want to jump on the sticky bandwagon?
new to HBG
what are the best guns in base MHW?
Elements were buffed in general because they were useless in World. You still need to build correctly to make use of elements but the payoff is now worth it with ridiculous amounts of damage potential. Raw is still better in unoptimised sets like it’s intended to be but elements are finally worth investing in.
Great Jagras and Diablos are pretty great, and so is Deviljho
Jho for sticky, Taroth Assault Glutton for for spread and Taroth Assault Support for piercing. If you don't want to grind out Kulve for the guns, Legiana is a good pierce gun
Kulu carries to you Shara, then his lance until you trick out Acid Glav.
With +3/+5 handicraft how high does that sharpness on acidic glav lance go?
Rajang, Oroshi Kirin, Chameleos, Amatsu, Alatreon
Guaranteed
We already knew they were developing
Doubt
VERY Doubt
Likely
They're pretty great in the grinding lands since they count as a carve and, particularly with the tempered roll boys, this'll often get you a free monster lure. It can also be done as many times as you want, so you can easily farm a radobaan by just interrupting a roll by flinging a kinsect or whatever at it and build up a good stock of monster lures.
>Leviathan skeleton
>need to level up the forest region
>no forest monster ever spawns
Wow, this shit sucks
>doubting Chameleos
I wouldn't see him being added
>leviathans can't be put in the game because they're too big and would clip through stuff
>add a leviathan that flies and rarely ever touches the ground and circumvent the clipping issues

>wouldnt see him

I refuse to buy iceborne and i refunded world. I wont support this lazy and casualized shit.
Let me guess, iceborne weapons also use the basic bitch bone weapon skin?
... even if he were OH! that's the joke!

Fuck kushala skeletons. Ryozo is probably hiding one inside him too.
>casualized
Monster Hunter has always been a casual series, what are you on about?
Namielle and Vaal use a lot of movements from him. There’s no way he’ll get snubbed.
But also anybody who doesn’t think we’re getting Fatalis is also delusional.
Purple at +4, but with lance you're so precise that maintaining infinite purple with master's touch is pretty doable.
Go away you arent wanted
If only i had the good decos to use masters touch without losing out on other offensive skills.
Just do those tempered investigations. The good shit just pours out of them.
I have been. I am now the proud owner of 5 artillery+ decos and like nothing else.
Then just use the Nerg lance like everyone else, or Shara's if you haven't gotten that far.
>>leviathans can't be put in the game because they're too big and would clip through stuff
>We want the newfag audience
Y'know they could just skip this whole survey business and ask me. I know what needs to be done.

why does slinger capacity skill only increase ammo by 1

Why? Its just optional content for people that really want a challenge.

I ain't got nothing against those but why
What are the chances they give us the ability to make the Serious Handled our quest girl permanently? I don't even mind the Handler and think she's pretty endearing, but even I think she doesn't hold a candle to the Serious Handler.
How to unlock MR Kush?
After you kill Velkhana you get an optional to kill him in the forest
what. serious handler’s assigned hunter is the excitable a-lister. your handler is that pukei girl. you can’t just arbitrarily take somebody else’s handler like that
Fight it in an expedition to unlock the optional.
I would pay for a serious handler dlc
whats an AT
Nah, man, the Ace Cadet's cool with it. He spends more time writing monster puns than hunting. Besides, I feel like he'd get along better with the Handler.
Arch Tempered. DLC monsters they released periodically that are generally much more difficult versions of monsters. Some of them were just better versions of fights, like AT Xeno, and some of them were just made to be as challenging as possible, to the point of being unfair, like AT Nergigante. We are more than likely gonna get more of them for Iceborne.
Oh i didn't catch the abbreviation, yeah why the hell would anyone complain about them? They even had them in 4
Quite likely as 8-10 bucks dlc in the future
>4 had arch tempered
Retarded or just Worldbab?
it was called Frenzy Virus. practically the same thing
Highly inefficient, really.
>want to critique a game you haven’t played
Eat a bag of dicks, shitposter.
Not even close. Frenzy was easy af.
it's the exact same concept though
This is the reality for 99% of the shitposters. Sour grapes all around. Remember this next time you feel like replying to shitposters
So whats the best endgame gear for GS? I feel like I need a step up from teegrex
I can get 100% affinity with Critical Eye and Draw, but are they worth equipping if I don't have any critical damage boosting skills equipped as well?
Why is the Ace Cadet there anyway?
Just to act as secret police?
Okay so can anyone find me where in Elder's Recess Rajang is standing in his trailer? I tried looking for the small volcano thing thats to the left of Rajang but I cant find anything like it in ER.
Yeah man, why would somebody ever do that?
He got a concussion and had short term memory loss so completely forgot the events of his last game.
Most of the members of the Fifth Fleet are already-experienced hunters. They're considered among the best of the best, which is why they were sent to the New World as the Elder Crossing and Zorah Magdaros's shit were happening. The Cadet is just one of the knights the guild sent. The other Aces and Doodle are probably still dicking around back in the Old World.
Show me your sweet moves, Rajang
>slightly more damage, faster when enraged, much slower when out of rage, and dealing a status that makes you stronger
>vs more than double the damage, new areas to fight them in, new moves and mechanics depending on the fight
AT Xeno and Nerg are practically different fights. Frenzy even made the fight easier once you unlocked wystones.
>Slowed down and sped up animations, unique blight and an incentive to use wystones are the same as "more damage"
Crit draw already boosts your affinity by 100%. Only use expert with crit draw if your GS has negative affinity.
Guiding Lands is fucking terrible.
It takes fucking forever to raise an area
yeah i get all that technical nonsense, the point is Capcom said "make the monsters harder with purple stuff" and they obviously iterated from the 4 Frenzy shit for World
Are you implying that AT's simply did more damage? You do know that Arch Tempered and Tempered monsters are completely different things, right?
If you watch the zinorge trailer kirin is in the same location
really makes you think huh? kirin and rajang in the same place
Oh right sorry, forgot to mention they have more hp too
What do you get out of blatantly lying? What is there to gain?
>yfw Guiding Lands update with an Elder's Recess Biome with Rajang
Hope you're ready to grind Lavasioth
Throw the tundra in there too
We didn't get real changes until AT Zorah. Vaal's new area changes and Taroth's last phase aren't enough to say the fight itself is any different.
How do i start playing new weapons, hammer is just too comfy?
Current meta GS?
Using Jagras death hacker
Ok if I can get a high affinity with either one, are they worth it without crit boost?
Does CC HBG get any meaningful boosts in IB?
How do I play crit draw GS? Just hit and run? Charge up or nah? Do I bother with true charge?

I-I said don't bully
heh... nothin' personnel, kid
You can’t catch bugs from Zinogre’s back anymore?
You can
ESP is bad because you shouldn't be attacking armored parts to begin with
Use the capture net. Devs were doing it in the stream where they showed off his fight.
You say that but try hitting Garuga's face with its adamantite fucking wings in the way when the combo starter is a vertical slash
I have this same problem, hammer is just old reliable so I can't get into it when I try other weapons.
I have health boost 3 on like nearly every set I have, no better dps then not carting.
Yeah, but you look bad.
You don't have the prompt anymore, you use the slinger net
Fadeslash my man. Fade, jab, uppercut, fade spirit combo.
How do I check the monster mats that I have? The item box doesn't show it anymore.
Go to sell items in your item box and it'll show them, remember to hit the sort button
the item box has a section for monster parts you have
It does. It's in a separate tab. Just look at sell item tab
Somebody posted an image of a postgame armor set that had some points in Offensive Guard. The wiki is in shambles and doesn't have it. Anyone know what set it is and how to get it?
The only monster that I know has offensive guard is Banbaro
You fight Garuga with hammer and only hammer.
I don't have an image at the moment, but she has the samurai waist/arms, thermae chest and bushi head all a matching purple.
I feel like it might've needed something from the arena, rather than monster parts. I've done the Odogaron and Zinogre arena quests and I don't see it at the forge though.
Wow fighting Zinogre in GL and then fighting him in the Ancient Forest really highlights how fucking awful AF really is. Goddamn I wish this map would just be erased from the game.

Apart from the more open areas I still do not understand any path in the AF after hundreds of hours.
>the combo starter is a vertical slash
Why not use the stab then?
>being an aesthetics fag when you can have a glorious skill setup
There's a reason why they let you ride a Jagras and go through it all on auto pilot, they themselves know it's awful
Its not even just that, so many of the arenas are just so fucking tiny and filled to the brim with ledges. Its awful fighting there, especially when you are fighting a big lad like Zinogre. I wish every fight just took place in that really open area right outside of camp 1.
You can filter armor pieces at the smithy.
if you want to shotgun use bow
>sns
Set?
I've been thinking of getting into the bowguns, actually. With the addition of these new mods I decided to give them a look out of curiosity and they seem quite interesting.
What's the iceborne equivalent to drachen? I mainly play LS and GS
Teostra
what is the "endgame" grind of iceborne? is it worse than hero/warrior farming?
it's not the most optimal set. jsut what i had at the time since i stopped using bow and started using GL
things to note are that lvl2 special ammo boost increases damage of thousand dragons a lot more than lvl2 spread shots and also that affinity afftects thousand dragons as well. also the amount of ammo left in the slinger affects damage and pierce pods are the best for it. increasing slinger capacity will increase damage but not by enough to make it worth getting lvl3 slinger capacity boost
if possible i'd want to try a pure attack and affinity build for thousand dragons to see how it compares but i dont have a set ready
There's always something that doesn't want to drop ever. It's always something. You hear about it, and then assume it's going to be the rarest material like mantles.
But no.
It's the fucking tempered bones in the guiding lands. The shit everyone else has millions of I can't get any of.
>all of brachys gear is shite
FUCKING WHY
Felt good
Get better luck
>you can finally wear Kirin without looking like a stripper
Feels good.
There’s a jungle growing from Zorah’s corpse called The Guiding Lands. Monsters from all over the New World are going there to try and lay claim to it as their environment because there’s tons of resources and shelter there for them. You level up regions in the Guiding Lands to get harder monsters to spawn and better rewards, and you use the Guiding Lands materials to augment your weapons. So basically you’re still trying to get augments but you can farm most of the roster for the stuff to do so in a new map rather than the same couple monsters over and over again.
Honestly I think my luck is too good because I keep getting all the ultra rare drops in excess. It's like needing an R in a gacha but always rolling SSRs.
Like, I only hunted Shara around 10 times and I have 21 of his tenderplates and 27 gems.
Can you level up regions without killing monsters? What do the bonepile and mining node bars do in the guiding lands
monster tracks also level up regions
Doing tracks, discovering monsters, mining, and collecting bones all contribute to leveling up but it's small as fuck.
Bones and ores are more for augmenting materials, making pendants, and some endgame weapon upgrades. You need to have minimum level 2 though for a region to start spawning the good shit for ores and bones.
His SnS is fairly solid. Damage is on par with the Shara SnS but with better sharpness. Still no gem slots though which sucks ass. Still my go to dragon weapon when I feel the need to switch off of Velk's SnS.
The fastest and cleanest waybive found is to make an item set with shock trap(s) amd farcasters, and, hopefully with one or two other people, use your three traps, farcaster, and reload while your friend(s) do(es) the same. Regardless, it seems like traps are the way to go for quick levels. I got my Forest from 5 to 6 in like 10-15 minutes
You didn't enjoy that?

What's the best MH for the Nintendo 3ds? Is the community still alive?
Just purchased Iceborne but when i go online it is only finding 1/16 rooms, is the game really that dead?
They fucked up matching matching it has really weird stipulation
I'd rather look like flowing robes Chinese person since Kirin is from that mythology and all that.
I thought it was really odd and so wanted to make sure co-op was still alive.
Any word on it being addressed?
They rolled a patch but it barely did anything.
BTW, is it me or you can't craft Layered Armor in Astera?
depends, they're all pretty good, but I like 3U the most, they're pretty dead online but you can still find some dedicated players at the highest ranks doing stuff, you'll probably have an easier time finding people to play online via citra for the 3ds games
you have to search multiple times to get lobbies with 10-15 players, I do this this every time I play and I'm always in populated lobbies
what the heck are these new echo points on HH?
the hunter notes say you get a bonus when you step into the bubble but dont give anything specific

Brainlet
>230 hours in
>only just realized that you can change your equipment and restock on items mid hunt by going in the tent
I just beat Shara using GS, but I want to learn to use LS. What weapon Should make?
At that point in the game, I think the best all-purpose LS is the Listfag Bazelgeuse one. Hellish Slasher is best, but it requires Arena
>Trying to hit Shara's head with a LS
I should have just gone HBG
>not liking that clusterfuck of a map means you must only like flat maps
I sure love strawmen.
You haven't missed out on anything. Using tent during hunts to restock is just as bad as being carried by others through the game. Tent should only be used at the start of the quest to grab that one thing you forgot to bring with you. Changing equipment after carting is also acceptable as it allows you to try a different weapon against the monster without risking failing the quest.
>Listfag Bazelgeuse
?
It's also comfortable to leave the capture gear there until the time comes or to empty your inventory from farming random mats and items you might find mid hunt.
I've had to discard mats more than once due to finding a gem while unknowingly having a full bag.
Reading through MH threads, I'm starting to wonder how I "git gud" at this game. I almost never cart and I tend to complete missions on my first try no problem, but it always seems like most players are leagues and leagues above me in skill. What's the difference between an average MH player and a good MH player?
How many curatives do you consume on your hunts? How long does it take you to clear a hunt on average?
I am thinking of picking up hammer after a long time of never using it, what are some of the best hammer trees to make?
Knowing the weapon's mechanics and monster behavior inside and out.
pattern recognition and repetition
>tfw Glavenus and Acidic Glavenus has neither Greatsword or Longsword present in Iceborne, the two weapon types that they are each explicitly stated by Capcom to be inspired by
Weird desu
Finally got the Mossy Moly, I think Region level of Guiding Lands affects the rare Moly spawn rates. My Ancient Forest Region was level 5 before he showed up.
Since we're in MR right now due to Iceborne, I tend to consume half of my supplies with regular monsters (Slightly less if it's one I've hunted before) but nearly everything if it's an elder dragon I've never fought. Weirdly enough, once I've fought it once I hardly ever need to heal afterwards. Sometimes elder dragons feel easier than normal monsters. Not sure why. Every MR mission seems to always take me roughly 25-30 minutes. Not sure if bloated HP bars or poor weapon choice.
This makes sense.
>steals your ancient potion
Which weapon can break Shara's head?
Just popping in to let you know sometimes I bring Farcasters so I can restock against Shara. Seethe
What leg armor is this?
Probably Garuga
I'm so bad at this game and it pisses me off. Just did a narga arena and I carted twice while trying my best to avoid his attacks, meanwhile the other two people in the room with me were constantly in his face without a care in the world. Trying my best to learn monster patterns and when to dodge and attack, but it seems like I'm making zero progress because I'm always getting bodied by these fucking monsters.
From that paragraph it seems that what you're lacking is purely that more in depth knowledge of your weapon and the enemy. Building and carrying sets specific to the monster you're hunting could be a factor as well.
>calls your huntress a slut
>you proceed to submissively obey and post her anyway
Truly shameful.
Just practice. The other two had probably fought Narga in previous games so knew his behaviour well.
Seething
He blasted his last scale.
I also got the last hit on a downed Kirin with the very first shot from E&I.
Yeah, I've heard that more high-end players tend to have a lot of different sets. While I'm not sure I'd ever willingly build a set for every monster, I have been putting together a few sets more suited to specific weapons and that's helped a bit.
Use lvl 4 Decos for it, Banbaro and Urugaan armor sucks for anything past MR5
Banbaro armor looks so cool, tho. I don't want to discard it.
Anyone got any tips for Namielle? Currently stuck there in the story.
Tried using brightmoss but it squirts out more water than the brightmoss can soak up
>"are you alright, Dodo-pard?"
Any weapon if you try hard enough. I've had best luck with a crit draw partbreaker GS, can easily get that tenderplate.
Any other new renders?
Is this hell?
>the other two people in the room
Have they changed Master Rank Arena? Can you do more than two people? Can it only scale to one person?
I'd love to solo Arena rather than relying on randos to accept a quest, but the scaling on it always being two player sucks.
Yeah it is. Hate that fucker
>Elderseal has always been highly underrated
yeah its cause its not obvious what its doing, then you try farming a monster several times for materials and the difference becomes night and day, less bullshit and faster kills
Inferior to Vaal Hazak in every way
I’m sitting in weapon limbo right now in MHGU. I can’t decide between the lance, dual blades, or charge blade. I’ve used the lance the most out of all the weapons, but I can’t find a decent set to make for G-Rank. Any suggestions/advice?
SOME FOLKS ARE BORN
That's all so far
Nami is like a more active Vaal, if you learn the tells for her breath you can punish freely. You don't need to manually clear water, just don't get hit by her big attacks with electricity. They'll clear the water out automatically. She doesn't use her tail much so it's a free damage spot while you learn to evade everything else. Her back legs are armored and she is CONSTANTLY attacking from the front so it's tricky to learn how to get in damage at first.
Then you just need a way to avoid the shock nova(2p uragaan and lance guard, long evades and dodge spam, elderseal, etc.) Good luck user.
They're talking about special arena quests, for the normals you have to join a lobby only for arena, try it i have found some good players there and the gathering hub is actually used
Namielle's much easier if you stay close to its chest/front legs, you get a lot of free hits since it likes to spam its water beam so much
I didn't bother with the moss, seems easier to just move out of the way.
How long does it take to get zinogre to show up in the guiding lands?
The last time I farmed for Narga was in MHFU. What the fuck is the gimmick for cutting its tail off again? Does it need to be enraged or something? Because I spent half an hour wailing on it and it didn't even show signs of breaking.
Alrighty, I might try it tomorrow. I always like the arena weapons and armour sets, they're just a pain to get.
I'm annoyed that I have to do more low/high rank to get the Divine Slasher, spent all my coins on the other weapons.
bibiwa
Finally beat Velkana, Took me 4 tries but I got him.
Get some partbreaker, hit it when it's poofy, best time is right after the tail slam.
Level 3 forest
Stupid as fuck question, but does the overall damage to the tail has to be slashing damage only or can I mix the damage up and then only do the slashing damage at the end to sever it?
and garuga?
How fucking long does it take to level 6 to 7? I swear it's been stuck at 6 for the past 20 hours of playing. I've been luring all the region's monsters too, wtf
I'M STILL IN MR3 BECAUSE FUCK YOU I WANT FOR KEEP FARMING FOR GEAR AND WEAPONS
is master's touch that good?
It is if you are able to hit 100% afinity, which isnt that easy with the MR sets
Elder's Recess can be a wild fucking ride sometimes
If you can get at least 50% affinity it's equal to Razor Sharp and only gets better from there
You can still get a lot of mileage out of Whetfish Fins + Protective Polish on fast weapons if you want a low skill investment alternative
What's the best set to use for endless healing and wide range?
>favorite new weapon
i hesitate to call it "new" but crit draw GS with velkhana 4 piece
>favorite new subspecies/variant
coral pukei pukei
>favorite new armor set
shrieking legiana beta for males is the best looking by far
>most wanted DLC
unironically gigginox
>*record scratch*
>yep, that's me
>you're probably wondering how I got myself into this situation
Does Offensive Guard trigger off CB's guard point and Lance's counter guard?
ye
It triggers off of anything but HBG auto-guard
Anything because recovery and wide range decos are as common as the air you breathe.
Make a Tigrex set and gem in wide range. Free Meal Lvl 3 is wild, plus speed eating. Hell with mushroomancer, it would be an incredible support build.
Whens rajang
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
October 10th
Thank you. Monkey time soon.
I just got three hit combod by blackveil vaal and carted. I'm sorry brap dragon I will never underestimate you again.
I'm at the Coral Pukei and Nightshade Lumu quests. When do I get to fight Glavenus, Barioth and so on?
The subtle clink clink jingle of the Shara insect glaive is unironically SOUL. If only HHbros could experience this level of care.
Literally right after those 2
Finally beat the HR49 tempered Kirin mission
What a carthatic ending for this unbearable piece of trash
Yes
Congratulations! Now fight a million more for decorations. Not streamstones though, they're pretty much trash in Iceborne.
Is this a HR quest in MR armor?
>"Hunt this monster and its subspecies"
Oh boy, time to burn through my dung pods while these cunts do nothing but follow each other every second minute.
How to I learn how to use GS in world? The design philosophy for it is so much different. It used to be that you used draw attacks and linked them up if you had more of an opening and therefore it was a prediction and hit and run weapon, but now with the TCS meta, it's about clunkily cancelling into a TCS as fast as possible and it's so slow and awkward it's hard to consistently pull off. Really don't know what to do desu.
The tackle is gr8 though and should be a mainstay.
>The story hunt for the Shrieker Legiana has a normal one in it
>On top of frequenting the same area's the shireker does a special call fucking constantly that makes the other legiana beeline to it
>There's a fucking optional to kill both
You're a dumdum. It's not about tackle cancelling into TCS as fast as you can, it's about fitting as many charged and/or uncharged slashes and a TCS into any given opening.
>>favorite new weapon
>>favorite new subspecies/variant
>>favorite new armor set

I don't know if you consider Arrow "new" but it is new to me. I just switched over to using it for the first time and I'm in love. That extended Evade is already turning me into a shitter for other weapons because of how fucking useful it is.
>favorite subspecies/variant
Nightshade is perfect, loved his intro too. I haven't beaten the game yet to see all the variants, but I love love love acidic Glavenus. Super disappointed you can't use his tail as a greatsword.
>new armor set
haven't seen everything yet but I really like Nightshade's outfit. Great colors and design overall.
>most wanted DLC
I want to swim, but that won't be coming to this generation.
>How to I learn how to use GS in world
you get velkhana 4 piece and play greatsword exactly like the old games
fuck yeah
I haven't played this in a year, can you skip cutscenes yet?
>can you skip cutscenes yet?
I am not fucking sitting through another 100 hours of story campaign if I want to play this, dude.
Speedruns where they keep a monster knocked over forever because they just walk into their TCS setup are not representative of an actual hunt
Draw charge and strong charge still do plenty of damage, as does the charged jumping wide slash after a tackle. Hit the monster with whatever you can manage.
The story is maybe a couple hours of cutscenes total, counting the 20 minute long credits, out of a 500+ hour game
Yes the story is meh but that alone hardly warrants skipping the game when the cutscenes are like 2% of the total playtime
For SA how do I figure out when it's safe to CC zero sum discharge on a monster? It seems like a guessing game whether you will get knocked off or not.
fuck It I guess I'll just try using GS the classic way
is wyvern ignition still worth making in iceborne?
What monster would you be happy if they never brought back?
I wouldn't miss Gravios, Khezu, or the Dromes.
Tbh I would miss both gravios and khezu. We basically have dromes in the form of tzitzi and jagras and what not but i wouldnt miss em
There's no MR upgrade for it yet but it's still the best HR GS and you can make it early
>he hasn't joined the turn lobbies yet
you're missing out, m8
i'd like a tiny DLC for a cheap price where they just make MR subspecies of all the other low rank monsters like Great Jagras and Girros. Maybe there could be some kind of DNA elder dragon that causes mutations in creatures around it or something, I don't know. It's especially a shame for Great Jagras cuz it's actually really cool
Kushala daora
Kusharudaora
Kushala Daora
Kushala and Daora
Removing its poison weakness in world was a fucking sin.
Make the first MR iron one, slap some free element on it for ECKSPLOSION and go bully the 1 star monsters to learn
Luna.
They just need to do an MR Greatest Jagras that gets Ruiner Nerg attacks
Poison should have the added effect of generally fucking with monster abilities because the DoT isn't enough to justify it. If it could fuck with effluvium and wind powers and blue dust, it would be much cooler, especially when combined with Elderseal.
All they had to do to make Vaal and Kush reasonable was make it so you can fuck with their abilities and neutralize them and make it so their abilities aren't unavoidable but can be circumvented somehow through skill
God damn
Which fire stick is better, Rathalos IG or Glavenus IG?
That has nothing to do with nintendo, you actual sperg
Why are huntresses so perfect?
Poison weak monsters have a unique stagger in IB where they puke up purple goop. It's a nice touch. Don't know what triggers it though.
How would you design a good subspecies for him and the other monsters that didn't get one?
For Kulu Yaku I was imagining he's simply a bigger version that steals large eggs. More dangerous projectiles and he slams things down on you, perhaps picks small monsters up
Great Jagras could have tusk fangs like the testucabra and a frog tongue for a range attack, which makes sense since he's also a glutton
I can't think of anything for G Girros, Dodo or tzi tzi
I always wished Poison stacked intensity instead of just duration
Could be very strong on weapons that can proc it quickly at the start of a hunt
Glav's.
Yeah I wish they did more with it and there were more status effects in general. More tools for hunting would be cool too, like maybe bolas for tripping them up.
What the fuck do you realistically even use boomerangs for anyways?
as someone who is new to the game? are the daily vouchers good enough to make a difference? i saw online they double the money, but do they affect drops in any way? like better rates to get rare shit, or more items? also when do i lose the serious handler? i don't want to get that autistic girl back. I'm about to do the barioth mission
>What the fuck do you realistically even use boomerangs for anyways?
Cutting tails if you need one for some reason and you only play Hammer
Wolf Shamisen
Scarred Garuga
Garuga Legs b
Snow and Lava areas in GL
The quest rewards fill in a varying amount of boxes on the rewards screen, the voucher guarantees you get the max number of items
Stop taking adderal in single player games.
I installed the base game but I haven't played it yet. Is there any point in in playing without iceborne installed? The 45gb base game took over three days and IB is 50gb.
You need to finish the main game's storyline to even get to Iceborne content. So yes, go hunt.
>MH
>single-player games
Not to say that you're wrong, though.
What the jesus is this rock beast. Fuck his gay armor and fuck his windy lasers.
>You need to finish the main game's storyline to even get to Iceborne content. So yes, go hunt.
Thanks man. I was worried it would work like some mmo and not let me play without all content? Is game not online only?
You can play offline or just in private rooms. It's lobby based.
I wanna start learning HH, what are the best ones in Iceborne right now?
>Throw zinogre into a wall
>He just walks into it for a few seconds and doesn't crash
Monster hunter
It’s modeled after a Buddhist prayer staff, like another user said. The staffs are known for the clinking sound they make.
Anything with Attack Up
any particular reason? 60% affinity sounds sick for rath stick
what are the chances for him to be put in the game?
I skipped Iceborne because I just don't see the point of buying it when I've already experienced Wold and 4U.
Any news on the next title already or just rumors?
its possible but it would require an entirely new mechanic, they'd need chimp out form monsters
do they?
did generations do that? i don't really remember anymore.
Her puddles can clip in to the ground and become invisible similar to Lunastra. Always assume that there’s a puddle when she does one of her attacks.
Only Apex actually gave monsters new moves, regular Frenzy just ran their textures through a purple filter and altered the speed of some attacks. Also they couldn't be exhausted iirc.
Invaders fuck off after dealing enough damage. Flinch shot them in to the wall or your target to get rid of them faster.
Shara sees (you)
Creepy as fuck
I prefer the Odogaron lance over Kulu. It has better affinity and needs no handicraft.
Isn't that one of those optical illusions where it seems like the eyes are always following you
No. It’s actually programmed to make eye contact with you.
Guard Points are dumb. How am I expected to react to attacks when they’re all on the end of combos or full animations? Luck?
I'm bored of all the elder dragons having the same body type, the point is they're unclassifiable
are basically no end game weapons worth getting except the acid glav ones? Have all the weapons and monsters and secrets been discovered already and the meta is established?
Kinda wanna use LBG desu it looks better and more fun than HBG this time around in Iceborne.
Quite a few are different but World was focusing on getting the most used monster skeletons all done first
>make frostcraft set
>"Yes, this is powerful, but I don't see how people are doing 1k damage with a draw atta-"
>Frostcraft TCS does over 1k damage
Oh.....so the idea is to STILL spam TCS, but tackle so you don't hit the monster until TCS comes out.
Y
A
W
N
I would sing if you could kill them!
Gold Rathian is better on some melee weapons, as well as elemental on certain weapons.
can't think of a single elder dragon without the western dragon skeleton in world.
I forgive world for a lot of the bullshit and lack of variety and weapon quality because I'm hoping it's a transitory title inbetween introducing mh to the western world properly and bringing it all to modern tech, and then expanding upon this once they've found their footing and releasing the next game with all the current maps and monsters but with more new shit, bold monsters, interesting old monsters and crazier weapons
I meant in the series as a whole not just World
How do I make the Wyvern Ignition GS?
Theres 4 different skeletons:
The nergigante one, the kushala one, and kirin and zorah have their own
fuck those souless fish looking eyes are so creepy
Its an event quest with paolumu and rathalso called every hunters dream
actually that's fair, Nerg is a winged quadruped but he's got a different skelly and kirin and zorah do have their own unique skeleton too. Shame kirin and Zorah are a bit shit.
The clutch claw should be it’s own weapon type.
Is the Kirin GS worth it in MHW?
>kill a handful of GL tempered monsters
>progress meter for the area barely advances
I'm so tired of gooks and their immense hard on for ridiculously long grinding
Is that what those are? I usually avoid them.
Does that work on other hunters?
I agree
If you stand in the speed puddles you will get a boost
>Tempered EDs can now OHKO you unless you have 3 health boost and 1000 defense
>which then is just 2 hits till cart
So I have to drop my meta sets at MR100 now?
Teo B+
Kirin A+
Teo B+
Teo B+
Garuga A+
Is the MR100 Drachen equivalent.
I don't get this problem. They just do standard damage to me. Is there some kind of super tempered to be unlocked later?
you're not listening. Any meta that doesn't involve tons of defense skills and have the elemental res of said EDs will give you a hard time. It's forcing you to either git gud or make a specific set for specific monsters
Fought Tempered Namiella and a single water ball attack took out 70% of my health
I know its a dumb little detail but why monster material have such generic names and no description now. I loved how over the top and cool was to carve a pulsating direheart from a molten tigrex and read the description
Hold on, don't they have a description? I remember World having them, but its probably faulty memory
Wtf there's a Teostra CB in world????
The item descriptions are still bland, but the equipment and quest descriptions have improved
yeah, it's little details like that that make world feel less silly and more grounded and for me, less soulfull
I kind of love the quest description of the past because they're always bizarre. It's still bizarre in World but the past was strange like
>oh hey my daughter felt a whiff from that roar nargacuga made 100 miles away 20 hours ago. Go kill that monster pls
Hot take: World and IB are more soulful than the past 3 games because the visuals aren't as flashy, the colors aren't full saturation, and the gameplay is more fluid and natural. MH6 will be the most soulful MH of all time if they fixed the weapon designs.
Its so stupid but i love that shit
World was a lot more normal since the New World didn't have any dumbfuck villagers posting quests, just the occasional weirdos on the research fleets like that dude who was concerned his assistant wanted to fuck a Rathian
Kulu
Tigrex if you can work around the negative affinity
Barrioth if you want an elemental one since everything but Velk and Banbaro get fucked by ice
It's the best it's ever been with Frostcraft
Male or female character?
I dont get this color hating meme .
Yes iceborne indeed has soul, but its not in the lack of color and saturation, its more in the vein of the all felynes in the seliana kitchen or thr steamwork thing, brachydios leaving slime smear in other monsters etc
LBG and HBG meta aren't acid glav.
that's the snus dummy
Never used an LS before in mu life. Is there a reason to try and kys myself with the iai? Or should I just keep trying to vault slash?
>AT velk
>AT nerg
>hell tempered anything
fugg ib is hard
>AT velk
what?
why did it cut off my post? oh well, the rest of the post was saying im struggling with base MR so the tempered shit is gonna wreck me
It looks cool
now you know how the japanese felt near the end of the war
>dad comes in as I'm fighting Glavenus
>mocks me for missing hits when the monster is so big
>I can't handle the pressure and cart
>he just chuckles and leaves
Iai has to moves . Iai regular slash lets you continue combos after leveling the sworf gauge. The iai nothing lersonal kid lets you counter an attack if you time it right in a tight window . Also it looks stylish as fuck
Your dad seems pretty based
Shara is based around a budest enlightened god.
Shara has achieved enlightnement and knows the player is hunting him, not the character.
Which is better in world, guard lance or evade lance?
CHIM
sloots
God, i wish i could gouge her eyes out!
Make him play then make fun of him
Guard Lance for Lance, Evade Lance for GL
Speaking of which can any GL mains tell me if theres an instant reset/counter like Lance has so you can quickly defend? Guard Claw comes to mind but i dont know if it can cancel thrusts like the lance counter can
Depends on the fight but Guard is easier to build for
Just remember that just because you built for Guard doesn't mean you can't just get out of the way of attacks that chip you hard too
You can guard/evade quicker after a shell which is part of why Long and Wide are preferred over Normal generally
>long and wide preferred over normal
Literally what
YES! i could use those tusks to do it!
>No Wide 6
>Long playstyle is actually less fun than fucking cluster bombing and less efficient
Why does Capcom hate this weapon
As fun as the full burst combo onto a Wyvernblast bomb is, MR monsters don't give you much time to do it and Normal has the weakest shelling outside of those openings.
Long 6 still does just fine with poke shell poke shell
Just not as good as Wide 6 will be when Rajang or some shit adds one, not sure why Capcom is still being retarded about it.
I could also sharpen them to decapitate that one!
>nu arena where you try to repel Velk
>only use it 1 (one) time
Capcom could've used it for arena quests, but nope.
I barely beat Blackveil, Namielle, and Ruiner Nergigante, should I even bother trying Shara or will I just fail?
>fix Gold completely
>Silver Los is still absolute cancer
All they need to do is make Silver Los fight in the same aerial style as Velk/Boltreaver Astalos
>arch tempered g-rank is hard
No shit fuckwad
that's a disgusting waste of assets. So many areas that go unnused. Hope they make a MR kulve so we can get her armor cuz the armor set looks like sex
He is a pain in the ass but very different from those other EDs. Go solo because multiplayer is super unreliable. People cart all the time due to him changing direction and immediately firing lasers.
>Make a minigun on a train track
>Use it once
>It will never ever EVER come back
>Buff Heavy Artillery for its single use in the Zorah quest, which is completely irrelevant now in MR
>DRAGONRAZER and a fucking gattling gun
>Only makes Velkhana go "oof" then fuck off
How tough are these fuckers?
Give me a gattling gun chase sequence please ryozo.
Does Lance still has this mechanic where it does either slash or blunt damage depending on which is the most effective?
