Yeah. I liked it.
No. PM64 and TTYD are though.
SMRPG is the absolute perfect game to play as your introduction to JRPGs, prove me wrong
probably wouldn't even put it in top 100 to be desu with you
Of course it fucking is
I've only played small bits of it as a child, but I highly respect it despite that. I see it as a progenitor to the Mario & Luigi RPGs, which I grew up playing.
peach was op
SMRPG vanilla: 8/10
SMRPG with battle music modded out so the battle music is just the overworld music you're currently on: 20/10, best pacing in RPG history, an absolute marvel, a technical masterpiece, and not at all like taking a nail to the forehead
Probably. I probably couldn't even name 20 RPGs I like anyways.
no, i think 90% of rpgs suck
that said, this one is pretty good, just not top 10 for me
>modding out the battle music
what a faggy nigger
>low IQ papershitter
Reddit is that way --->
No it is shit.
easily
Yep. It's #1.
*blocks your path*
Top 20, no. But I like it.
No but I like it a lot. Definitely a good game
Be honest: Is Borderlands 3 in your top 3
Is Link's Awakening in your top 10
???
Top 20? Fuck no.
Top 200? Yeah, probably.
I think so. Definitely my favorite RPG. I wish timed hits was a standard mechanic in every turn based RPG.
Yes.
It's definitely on the short side, but I loved it as a kid and even today.
I wish SE would stop being hot penises and make another one with Nintendo
Admit it. You never even got the attack scarf.
Honestly, Peach breaks the game. Just group hug every turn and you're good.
in my top10.
1,3,5,6 earned you the weapons right?
its in my top 1000000000 for sure
27-year old boomer here. Yes, it's actually in my top 5 games of all time.
1) Castlevania: SOTN
2) Mass Effect
3) GTA 3
4) Super Mario RPG
5) FF8
Ugh. This room and the wrecked ship where the worst areas in the game for me.
this rpg holds up it's just too easy. but it was fine being easy because it had a fun story and especially fun easter eggs
and one of the most satisfying multi-endings ever
Not even in my top 10 for SNES RPGs.
yeah but then u couldnt be a bowser+geno chad threesome
booster's tower best area
and marrymore
as a kid it was awesome/funny teaming up with bowser

Mario RPG has the best OST of any SNES game fight me
never played it
Still haven't got around to playing it. I love the first two paper marios, someone convince me to play this
Yes, though at this point more for the music and the nostalgia. I have since played more engaging RPGs mechanics-wise, but as far as atmosphere and comfiness, SMRPG is still the tops.
Yeah up there with FF6, BOF3, OOT, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, FFX, Lunar 2, Mother 3 & SH2
emulate it, you'll realize why the paper mario games are a letdown compared to it. the enemies and music alone are 100% soul.
Alright, put up your dukes

Mario RPG: best world
Paper Mario: best stat mechanics
Mario and Luigi: best attacks
Not sure if it's in my top 20 games overall, but it's definitely in my top 20 rpgs. The music, enemy design and overall aesthetic are all just so charming and unique there's just nothing else like it, even if the combat and difficulty were kinda shallow.
No, but I did enjoy it. The weird new characters and locations made it feel like secrets could be anywhere. And they were, kind of.
I don't think so, but it's a great game.
Better than TTYD for sure, probably equal to Paper Mario 64 for me. TTYD's problem is recycling too much of the basic combat from PM and the fucking backtracking is absurdly bad
No but I like it a lot. Thousand-Year Door is top 20 for me.
>Mario RPG has the best OST of any SNES game fight me
Chrono Trigger, Diddy's Kong Quest, Seiken Densetsu 3, Final Fantasy VI, ActRaiser.
Without a doubt.
I liked how this started the trend of Mario learning how to throw fire balls with out a flower.
Maybe top 20. It's okay, but feels pretty short.
No, in fact, it wouldn't even be in my top 20 SNES JRPGs, let alone top 20 JRPGs.
Don't get me wrong though, its a decent game.
But I've played so many JRPGs since then, its gone down far for me.
