Kojima's garbage is written way worse than Planescape and plays almost as badly.

rdr2 should be up there. Way more overrated than botw, at least you could interact with the open world and use it as a sandbox in that game.

I heavily disagree it's mediocre, the world and music is still top tier to this day but as a gaming experience a lot of modern RPGs easily outclass it.

Planescape is good but it is a bit overrated. It's not THAT overrated, though. Not to be that guy but it really is wordy as hell and I think a lot of people saying it's overrated are people who just don't like reading.

FF7 is also legitimately good. It WAS overrated. For a long time people gave it the 10/10 best game ever treatment when it's really a 9. But ironically the fact that is now becoming considered a mediocre game that is massively overrated makes it currently UNDERrated.

TLOU is hugely overrated, yeah. It hit during peak console wars and was an exclusive.

BOTW is good but I'd say it's overrated, yeah. Anything that gets 10/10 best game ever treatment is overrated, everything has flaws.

I'd say the most overrated game is Undertale. Undertale is a solid 8 that gets talked up like an 11. Someone gave it to the pope, for fuck sake. It was fine but treating it like the Holy Grail is over the top.

It's average, it has good characterization for Cloud. But everything else is just bland, you won't remember anything from the game outside of Aerith's Death, Nibleheim fire & Midgar. You remember those few cool moments & forget about the hours of boring filler garbage that you have to put up with. The quality takes a massive nosedive after Midgar, it has the worst pacing out of any acclaimed RPG

That's simply not true and you're either a contrarian or someone who played it late in life and struggled with enjoying an old video game because of the art style or clunkier feel compared to modern games.

For most people leaving Midgar and exploring the world was the best part of the game, not "down hill". Midgar was the slog you did every time before the game actually began.
