RF4 spoiled me and i can no longer bear to play RF1... what do? Should i skip it and try RF2?

I'm planning to grit my teeth and get through it just for the experience of it.

I'm playing through RF1, veeery slowly. I rushed through the story in a couple of weeks and have been waiting for winter so I can finish the game in another. It feels aimless, but I'd feel bad just skipping days. My advice is don't try to do too much every day or you'll burn yourself out.

Yeah upon rewatching the trailer, it really feels like it. Even the silouettes look like they're wearing pokemon gear, and don't try to tell me this monster art doesn't look like 3D render concept art. Fuck. The guy looks like the loser dude from Tides too.

What can 5 do to be the big step up expected of mainline Rune Factory?

Improving combat to be more nuanced and substantial is something I've always thought would bump the series up from being a jack of all trades genre to being the epitome of perfection.

Yeah you're right, that definitely is the aspect that could be improved the most. If they really go full 3D it will probably end up pretty different.
