Engineer is my most played class and you have no idea how grateful I am that even most of the good spies are too obsessed with doing sick trickstabs to ever even attempt to attack my teleporter except in passing while sapping the sentry. There are many maps where there's basically no point in playing engineer if the enemy spy focuses on shutting down your teleporter and not having one can make it basically impossible to win for attackers
Tele is the FIRST thing I aim for as Spy.

A good reflect pyro is nightmare. A phlog pyro isn't too bad unless he has a good medic pocketing him, making him immortal for most of the match.
Phlog, hands down. I can at least respect a man with the dedicated reflexes to reflect projectiles.

I think something should be changed here, just walking back to the enemy spawn you almost always get to break the engis tele for free and either make him run back and abandon his nest or have the entire team be without a tele.
When spy just spams the sapper on the other end and the feed is filled with sapper broken for a minute is the dumbest shit. Surely there should be a cooldown on placing sappers or have it only sap one side or have it not downgrade the surviving side to lvl1.

You're a good lad. One of my favorite things when I play spy myself is to cloak and dagger on the tiny ledge above blu spawn on Goldrush map 3 and just destroy it in a single shot every time the engineer tries to build a new one.
I hate to say it since it would make my life even easier but it's hard to suggest nerfs to the spy when he's already the worst class in the game. I can't see sapper limits ever being a good idea but only destroying one side of a teleporter would be nice if he got an appropriate buff to go with it.

Heavy sniper. Everyone including other snipers will focus the heavy, Meaning the sniper isnt getting shot at and can countersnipe without worry and pick off everyone running away / towards the heavy

scorch shit lets me get rid of stickies entirely instead of airblasting them down the road until they blow up in my face and makes snipershits mad as hell so that's a big bonus

Scorch shot deals more damage against both people and buildings, doesn't need to choose between direct damage and splash damage, and has knockback.
Only hipster contrarians think the detonator is better than the scorch shot.
Use scorch shot or detonator to jump over the other pyro before blasting them with your primary, or swap to melee and pray for a crit.

That's a complete lie. If anything they're equal since they both have the same explosion radius, but in practice the scorch shot would be better since you can simply aim into the center of a sticky trap and delete the whole thing without having to worry about timing your detonation.

I'm a pyro main, and I absolutely will say that reflecting takes a good degree of skill to master. It requires you to be familiar with the behavior of rockets and pipes, while also having to make snap aiming decisions to make sure you dont just reflect at your feet and blow yourself up. Most soldiers and demos dont expect pyres to actually be able to use m2 properly, and if one of them is using either a banner or shield, you absolutely shut down all of their offensive capabilities. Reflecting makes you a hard counter for demoknights, as well.
Phlog, on the other hand, is what you choose when you just want to mindlessly frag without much regard for respawning times. Phlog+scorch is a shitter combo that is absolutely used as a crutch for people new to the class or just bad at the game, while true patricians will run stock+shotgun or stock+detonator for mobility.
What if I run stock+Scorch until the enemy team starts bringing out their own Pyros, then switch to stock+shotgun?

A solid choice. Hell, sometimes with that I'll even go for the manmelter for free crits. Enemy pyros never expect you to whip out an instant 90 damage.

There is a special hell for medics that uber phlogs but I admit, sometimes the opportunity is so perfect I just can't resist giving it to them.
One of the greatest joys in TF2 for me is fucking with Engineers as Spy.
There's very, very few situations where it wouldn't be possible. Generally if a sticky is close enough to damage you walking past the corner, it's close enough for the scorch shot's blast to get it. Maybe on Gravelpit BLU spawns it wouldn't be possible, I don't think I've ever actually had to test that, but I can't think of any others off the top of my head.
Detonator destroys stickies with the detonation. It won't destroy stickies if you don't detonate even if you hit them directly.

Detonator has better mobility than scorch shot.
The detonator's mobility is very situational due to the high HP cost and relatively low force of the blast. Most of the time it's just not worth the HP cost to use.

A det jump doesn't get you anywhere near as much height as a rocket jump.
A perfect det jump can get you just barely enough height to jump to a second floor, but that is a perfect jump and only just barely.

Alternate way to extinguish teammates and being able to store and then unleash crits a la Frontier Justice is pretty cool. Flare gun or even a shotgun is always better but it's fun if you know the enemy team has a lot of pyros. It was probably really useful when Jungle Inferno first launched considering everybody and their mother was playing pyro.
