Fire Emblem is one of the dullest franchises in the history of vidya franchises. Seriously each game following the boy lord and his pals from his army as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.
Perhaps the die was cast when Kaga was removed from directing the series; he made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody, just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for Nintendo. The Fire Emblem series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-fun series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. IS's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that they have no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Fire Emblem by the same Kaga. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are playing Fire Emblem at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to play Disgaea." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you play "Fire Emblem" you are, in fact, trained to play Disgaea.

Tiki is interesting as a series mascot because in the original game she's the end boss in a fairly forgettable level about midway through the game. Most other mascots at the time are either staple low-level enemies like Jack Frost or Slimes, or were the main characters of the game. But you could recruit Tiki on one, characteristically obscure condition. A few chapters earlier, you had to save an old woman named Bantu by recruiting her. She can't wield any weapons, and IIRC there's no way to get a Dragonstone for her by that point in the game, so deploying her is pointless. But she's the game's first Manakete, and the guardian of Tiki. The only way to break Gharnef's brainwashing on Tiki (That lead her to being the end-boss of that level in the first place) is to have Bantu talk to her, which recruits her and gives you your first proper Manakete unit. If you don't do that, you have to kill her.
This is "Fallen Tiki" and for a lot of people who only played Mystery of the Emblem/Shadow Dragon, it's probably the only exposure they have to the character outside of secondary material.

A +10 +def Nowi is pretty good if you have Steady Breath fodder. The right combo of +def IVs, weapon refinery, buffs, seals, and Steady Breath can push her effective def above 50 while maintaining decent attack, speed, and resistance. I myself went with a cheaper +10 +spd build. With Fury 3, +spd Lightning Breath, and a spd+3 seal my Nowi hits 43 speed. I field her on an arena team with a Soliel that has Even Speed Wave as a C skill, which means she can double a +spd Arya when buffed. Nowi is a really flexible unit, so I'd recommend building her in some fashion.

Depends honestly, Fallen Tiki can be really annoying, Idunn is an absurd tank in some setups but usually easier to counter than Tiki since literally no one puts DC on Idunn, Nagi is going to be a massive pain for some too.
Despite the upsurge in dragon effectiveness I don't really see it that much. I don't think Naga is that common to have, I've seen Julia quite a bit but almost never Naga. Dragon effectiveness from anyone else but those two is easily avoided generally too with a single backup unit so I've not had any issues with it except for maybe PvE stages having FTiki as a random encounter.

Yeah, character appearances are very unbalanced, Nukadoko didn't appear once through the entirety of Vol 6 and the manager could show up more frequently too, I liked when her eyes were open for once when she got extremely mad considering she is otherwise a very easygoing character. I do wonder if there'll be a point in the story where Nonko's other eye will be shown as every depiction of her so far has it omitted/covered by her bangs and I doubt she has only one with it being so off-center.

Seteth explicitly states that they forsaken that ability near the end of Silver Snow. Not WHY or even HOW, though. I suppose if they were trying to hide, they wouldn't need that power, but it would have been very useful to have some kind of backup plan. Three Houses seems to have very different lore in regards to the Children of the Goddess compared to the other Divine Dragons of the franchise and it never really fleshes it out properly. Out of every other dropped or incomplete plot line, that bothers me the most.

I still think the avoid bonuses given by FK are still too important to drop. FK gives +10 avoid and alert stance+ gives +30 avoid. Ingrid isn't exactly physically tanky and needs to rely more on dodging.

When I'm referring to being able to dodge, I'm referring to her being able to be useful in enemy phase. In EP, you can kill more enemies and doing something like give her DC with the retribution gambit and having her dodgetank and counter kill mages with bolting or archers can save time and put less stress on your player phase units.

Weight and weight reduction skills already shows the visible attack speed and even then Dedue was no way going to deny a follow up 41 AS with his 10 speed without QR.
How I think what's happening is that IS either actually intended for the follow up denial and if that's the case, pls nerf. Or the game's engine doesn't account for both combatants to be able to simultaneous do a follow up, unlike Heroes, and just defaults to giving the follow up only to the one with QR.
