No, he was a deadbeat, neurotic moron dad. That's why his kids are all fucked up. The cunt of a wife didn't help, either.

Was he a good dad?

Typical White American father.

maybe nowadays, but fathers used to be good

now it seems like all american fathers are absent and their fatherless sons end up becoming sensitive, ambitionless pussies

I wish my mom was an ex stripper whore

NAMAS-FUCKING-TE

>maybe nowadays, but fathers used to be good

must be nice seeing the world through boomer-vision
reality is that in the 50s it was a hell of a lot easier to get away with knocking someone up and skipping town. Same goes for physical abuse, spousal abuse, uncontrollable alcoholism, pedophilia, et al.

The only reason this isn't portrayed more often in culture is because baby boomers worship their dads.

He was the best written GTA5 character

He was supposed to be the ONLY playable character, and Trevor was supposed to be the villain. Trevor burning to death was originally the canon ending, and the game was supposed to be much deeper in terms of how he matures and reconnects with his family.

But the mission where the player briefly played as Trevor (Coming to Los Santos) tested so well, that R* decided to implement character-swapping as a game mechanic and turn Trevor into a second protagonist.

Franklin was then stapled to the cast so that they could have a nice three characters and earn diversity points, which is why his arc is so completely meaningless and out-of-place.

Not a high bar

Look at all this projection lol

that would explain why Franklin was so bland and boring

I would spend 24/7 inside, outside and around that ass.

Exactly, I never understood why Franklin was in the game..

This is fan fiction, Franklin was always the main character because he is literally CJ's cousin in real life. Three characters were always the plan, one character per city, (Franklin LS, Michael San Fierro, Trevor Las Venturas) but the other cities were cut because of hardware limitations. There was a leak a couple months before the game came out which nobody believed because they thought the 360 holding back games was a meme, when everyone thought the entire San Andreas map was being re-scaled

Boomers dads fought in WW2 they have an excuse if they were fucked up

Mmm, badass wolverine, don't wanna mess with him

hahahahaha

This pretty much. The whole family is fucked up, petty, and selfish. So in a way they're all great for each other in that every one of them is shitty.

Nice headcanon. Franklin was diversity hire.

You can push the SJW agenda all you want but if you think they were going to make a San Andreas game without the Grove Street gang then you're dumb

so who is right

The user not obessed with politics. the other is just a shitposter

>Franklin was always the main character

the entire plot is about Michael's relationship with Trevor. If this was the original plan, it was the plan long before development actually started.

Lel you can make with refs to groove street but you dont have to put in an entire new character. That's just dumb

It's pretty obvious they wanted to have switchable characters in a much bigger area, think about their personalities and each city from SA. Having Michael and Franklin so close was a lazy afterthought

Franklin was shown in the first trailer and was talked about in the previews. legit kill yourself you shill.

Yes they do, because they already established with GTA 4 that the HD games are a separate universe than the SD games, so CJ doesn't exist in GTA 5

>citation needed

Why did it have to happen

There were always 3 characters, so they always had the 3 character story arc, Franklin was always the heart of the game because Grove Street is the heart of San Andreas. I would believe they watered down his character to pander to the diversity crowd, but I completely doubt he was never intended to be in the game

...

It was over a decade ago when they were discussing GTA 4 when people kept asking for Clyde to return. Just google GTA universes and you'll see everything you need to know

This is super interesting, so no wonder we can have Niko and John Marston as parents for GTA Online but not anyone else

the guns in this game look so fucking stupid

wow super massive interesting, exactly right dude.

>talking out of your ass

Franlink was a diversity plant. Trevor / Michael focus is superior

The guy who plays Michael is such a piece of shit irl, he must have been living hell on set

Seems so obvious looking back that he was inspired in Tony Soprano, and I didn't connect the dots at the time... weird

that would actually make a whole lot of sense considering how fucking worthless Franklin is to the whole story. I hated the character swapping in general, it added nothing to the game and I only vageuly remember doing it once in the heists so I can't say it enhanced the experience.

Oh ok

I already said I would believe his character was watered down for diversity, but if you believe he was never intended to be in the game then you are the one talking out of your ass
