Flowers in the game = symbolism for sex. Aerith is selling herself. We all know that. But something which is rarely talked about is how Cloud has the choice to "give it" (the flower) to either Tifa or Marlene. When he "gives it" to Tifa, it works out fine for him and he later tells her "Next to you, who wouldn't?" when she asks him "Did you sleep well?".
When he gives it to Marlene however, his attempt to "give it" to her fails, because she gets scared and runs away and hides behind Tifa who says: "Sorry Cloud. Marlene is a little shy."
Later, Barrett informs Cloud that he knows what he's up to, and disapproves of it. Pic related.

Lots of people who never played the original game will play the remake. I wonder how they will react when they see this in the remake. Will there be a huge outrage on twitter, reddit and youtube by triggered feminists and the like, or will Square Enix censor this aspect of the game?
