You say that but viewer numbers for SM took a colossal hit compared to the last season of Kalos, and when everyone casual or rabid was expressing the exact same hate of Ash getting baited out of a deserved win, it's not hard to put together what turned people off. It also didn't help that the new show had worse writing, looked ugly as sin more fluid animation is meaningless when the baseline is revolting and was written so heavily for little kids that even THE LITTLE KIDS felt offended and quit watching.

Kalos was the one before Sun and Moon, right(I haven't been keeping up)? In the US, that was pretty much the last season to air on Cartoon Network before they pretty much stopped giving a damn around mid to late season. Disney XD ended getting the broadcast rights to the series and I'm not sure how many people have that channel as opposed to CN. But yeah, Sun and Moon is trash.
