my only gripe with this game is that it's too easy,i dont get how you fags think any of these fights are hard

It's way too easy to make a viable build. There's so many things you can do to make the game easier. This isn't even going into calculator realm or using TGC

There are a few fights that can be pretty tough if you don't know they're coming. The assassins fight and the Wiegraf fight in particular.

I remember I once had to quit playing during this fight because I just couldn't beat it and grinding for more power during that part of the game was way too tedious. The reason I found it too hard was that my highest level character was somehow only level 8.

I beat this shit as a kid and this my first ever SRPG.
Half the game I literally dunno what I was doing.

My gripe is that it’s a weak story. It's very generic, none of the characters are memorable, so it’s pretty directionless. The back story is more interesting. Also, there is this weird form of sexism in the writing where every evil or crazy character is male and there is only one good man.

>learn auto potion
>win game

Literally too easy

>Also, there is this weird form of sexism in the writing where every evil or crazy character is male and there is only one good man.
That's not sexism, that's just Medieval times. You're mostly dealing with aristocrats, who've been trained since birth to be huge assholes to everyone, and women are only seen as things to protect. Ramza just has the misfortune to be the one guy who believes the lies aristocrats tell about themselves; Delita starts out believing the lies, but starts seeing the reality of it all when his sister is killed.

how would you make the game harder without going the XCOM route and putting timers to prevent overleveling?

>It's very generic, none of the characters are memorable, so it’s pretty directionless.
That sounds like every video game

This one isnt too bad, it just forces you to make smart moves positioning.
Wiegraf is bullshit.

I remember when this game first came out and this stage rocked my asshole. Anyway nothing in tactics is impossible considering story missions dont scale with the player like random battles do so just get a few more levels then come back and stomp gafgarions asshole.

My 14 years old self beat it 20 years ago, git gud

Reminder that squenix has a new SRPG coming out that looks like it could be a really solid new entry in the series but it's exclusive to fucking phones so you know it's going to be P2W trash.

There are a few hard fights

Or use monks. Or use Orlando, or just his sword. Orators can permanently raise or lower your units' bravery and faith too. This game is FUN not hard.

Same. And it wasn't hard.

>Literally
literally git gud you lazy bum

dunno maybe better AI to counter attack the many methods you have to break the game,or balance out the overpowered skills

the only hard thing about that battle is stealing gaf's blood sword.

I never really understood the functions of Bravery and Faith.

Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark on steam is a pretty decent FFT clone if you want something new, god knows Squenix doesn't give a shit about us.

will this game ever get released?

I tried it out (1.0), the class system needs more working out and polishing. It's too simple and basic, do they add more stuff in the future releases past 1.0?

Brave = reaction ability success rate except for move find item which requires low brave for the good stuff
Faith = magic damage give AND received
Note that super low brave or very high faith and your generics quit on you.

That's because the party members basically stop existing as characters once you recruit them.

>UI progress
>it looks absolutely generic
g-great!!...

>those shitty generic Warcraft looking characters

So if you build your party around physical damage, then really high brave and really low faith basically break the game?

Just building a party is enough to break the game, it's that easy.

Yup it's super easy

I think there are plans to but they haven't come to fruition yet. There is fun to be had with the class system though, it takes some time to really get into the meat of it but an early fun thing is just equipping "weapon" range skills on a unit with a crossbow. Thief skills in particular give you a bunch of good status ailments in the early game

That you will grind for 10 years on Mandalia Plains.

Is FF Tactics unironically one of the 20 best games of all time? Genuinely cannot think of a Design flaw in the game

>mediator
>thief
>beowulf
>mustadio
>time mage

Name a more fun team

almost everything breaks the game, shirahadori breaks vs all phys enemies, auto potion breaks the game as infinite heal especially after you get to buy X-Potions,squire's accumulate gives you insane ATK after a few turns, calculator is all around broken as you can cast any magic with no mp cost and anywhere in the map, monks are all around op and with dual wield they get even more broken, that's not even talking about the specialized classes such as divine knight, holy knight, sword saint...

some jobs suck a ton compared to others

>Genuinely cannot think of a Design flaw in the game
Come on, I love that game too but 90% of the battles you're fighting knights archers and black mages with trash equipment and skills

5 Knights with two swords.

Too easy if you grind and/or know the game, too hard for the first time player stumbling around with no knowledge. It's damn fun but the most fun thing in it, creating broken builds, is also a major problem since it takes almost no effort to make one and you're basically screwing yourself for no reason if you don't make one.

>no design flaws
>FFT

Come on now. The game is horrendously balanced. Some jobs suck dick, like Lancer and Chemist. Some are stupidly overpowered like Calculator.

It's a lot like Classic WoW, where they disregarded balance in favor of giving you more tools to play around with. Which is fine if you're the type of person who likes looking for obscure combinations. But it also fails in a larger sense since many players who pick up the game casually will be put off at how their chosen class is completely unviable.

calc height 4 (3?), flare, 3 dead mages

>Chemist sucks
They can toss healing items and equip guns. Those alone keep them from not sucking.

>no FFTA 3 for 3DS or Switch

>It's way too easy to make a viable build.
That's called versatility, and it's the hallmark of great game design.
>things need to be hard to be fun
basedjack.jpg

Are you serious? The bravery/faith mechanic sucks and the zodiac mechanic is literally the dumbest thing I've ever seen in a strategy game.

just grind more bruh

Yes, but it’s kind of gamey. Just make sure you have an alchemist for healing.

>Chemist sucks
lol

The zodiac mechanic is just to add a bit of diversity and make some battles easier and others tougher. Only absolute retards try to minmax over it.

That's the real buttfucker of the entire game. Literally luck-based whether you lose on the first move or not.

Cidolfus was so overpowered it wasnt even funny. He literally soloed every fight for the rest of the game after i recruited him.

I think we can all agree this battle in particular is poorly designed

Mandalia Plains... home

Fuck that guy in particular, he was even worse than Wiegraf to me.

>2019
>grid-based

Come on. Did people learn nothing from Larian?

If its too hard for you why dont tou try the fft1.3 mod
