This is how this game work, user, after the first lap the 1st and 2nd place are almost guaranteed for whoever is in that position, because the 3rd will eat up all the shit rom the other position while at th same time never getting anything good to catch up to the two players ahead.
It doesnt help that missiles are basically useless other than in a short straight line and every speed power doesnt help to catch up with a plyaer that is using sacred or blue fire.

Well there you go. It's kinda the perfect idea. It wouldn't even need to be 'amazing' or anything that way, since it would just be bolted onto a true platformer.
The idea actually comes from Crash Tag Team Racing. The racing was not exactly on par with CTR, but it had REAL platforming sections in each hub, and some neat exploration. It was just a much better system than CTR's Adventure hubs.

It's part of the Grand Prix format. Each month they start a new GP that adds characters, kart customs, and skins to the rotation. Once the GP is up those items are gone until they reintroduce them into the in game store. They haven't told us when that time will come and they have been quite about it.

The reason twinsanity is so reveled is because it tried to be a massive game with fan service for all of the ps1 crash games with scenarios involving all of the old bosses.
If they ditch the open world meme and make twinsanity follow crash 1's level structure you have an ideal fanboy's game foundation laid out.

If you drive with the analog stick on ps4, there is a very easy way to U-turn.
1) Figure out which shoulder button you hold to slide and which you use to boost in a slide. I use L1 to boost, but I am a lefty devil-spawn so R1 could be your boost button too. It doesnt matter.
2) Remap whichever lower shoulder/trigger button is below the one you boost to D-pad down. L2 for me. It's important not to use the trigger below the button you use to slide, because you often need to powerslide immediately after a U-turn.
2.5) Button remapping is found under settings -> accessibility if you are too much of a lazy fuck to look that up.
3) Congratulations, you can now U-turn with remapped trigger button+square. The direction you are driving in is now completely independent from using a u-turn. Hopping first saves reserves but you can do this on the ground to get used to it.
The only important thing is to press your remapped button (L2/R2) at the same time or slightly before you break. If youre in the air/hopping you have some room for error
