Not him but I love it more than the other 2d marios for its exploration, tight mechanics, and music. Certainly part of it is nostalgia as well, but I always enjoy my playthroughs and the satisfaction of beating the secret levels and 100%ing.

I feel like it's the best of the old ones in terms of art, and how it plays it's honestly all subjective and I can see why one would argue for another game. Pretty much everything said is why it's my favorite. But yeah in all reality it isn't the only one worth playing but I'd say it's a stand out not that it's an original opinion to have.

Anyway, yeah, it's my favourite aswell, but I can see the criticism some people have that it can be broken too easily with the feather - but then again the feather is fun as fuck to play around with. SMB3 has more power ups, but none of them are as fun as the feather. I still like to go for some SMB3 every now and again, it feels more like an arcady game that you try to run through, while SMW is more of a stroll in the park where you, well, explore. Makes me wonder how SM64 would have turned out if SMW didn't exist as an intermission between it and Bros 3.

The version of SMB3 on my Switch NES emulator has this extremely distracting issue where all the assets load to the right of the screen in a green flash of pixels. It makes the game borderline unplayable for me. What's up with that?
