well whoever is head of the church is the head of state since rhea was the deep state to fodlan. if byleth is willing to let the church be subservient to the state then no, edelgard would not have gone to war. rhea wasn't willing to let the church be subservient to the state so we got war. i remember playing BE and a couple of characters talk about how they're still following the faith, but disagreed with the head of the church. meaning they simply had a different interpretation of the teachings of seiros than the one rhea dictated. rhea is arguably the bad guy in the game, really.

Lin's probably not going to be attacking too much, so Fiendish Blow probably won't do a lot for him, though Mage does have a slightly higher magic growth which could be helpful. On the other hand, Miracle is a pretty trash mastery skill, but +5 healing is good and the skill bonus for faith will let Lin get to Warp ever so slightly faster.

I was playing BE last night and finished the Cornelia chapter. The entire time Cornelia is dropping hints that she’s a slither and even her giant mechs state that it’s ancient technology. Edelgard and Hubert have their sekrit plan to attack Arianhrod first because Cornelia is there. Cornelia’s death is the goal the entire time, as soon as she dies Edelgard announces their victory, and afterwards Thales/Arundel threatens Edelgard right in front of you before blowing the fuck out of the Imperial garrison at Arianhrod. How the fuck do people here still act like she’s with the slithers? She goes out of her way to kill Cornelia purely for that and Thales mentions how even he wasn’t told of this plan. Afterwards Hubert says that maybe they shouldn’t have killed Cornelia so quickly because of Arundel’s laser rampage.

I put 75 hours into my first playthrough, why do so many plan ahead for which playthrough to do first when you’ll probably drop the game after the first two anyway?

Edelgard would let her professor fuck however they want, whenever they want, wherever they want, and be into it 100% of the time. Couple that with her status as one of the shortest girls in the game (both pre and post-time skip) and that makes her one of the best.

Shitty advice, first route will take you the longest. The good thing is, playing the other routes first makes playing BE kind of hard, knowing just how wrong she is about Fodland's history.

I played in order they are shown (edelgard, dimitri, claude) and personally this is the best way to go, it worked as first shows the overall world, second and third gets in depth of the war

I want to like BE, but it's just so jarring seeing characters such as Ingrid and Felix being recruited. They're Kingdom loyalists in all the other routes, childhood friends that mourn Dimitri's death in the other routes, even plotting revenge against Edelgard so their King can rest in peace, and when characters call them out for being traitors, even they can't refute why they did it.

Could Edelgard and Hubert snitch them out to the Alliance and Kingdom? Probably. But that which mean losing the Empire and having their cities nuked, because none of them at the time knew where the Dubbsteppers were located. Also, they still hate the Church and Noble system, which is something the Alliance and Kingdom don't have a problem with.

Using timepulse doesn't change level up results. Soft reseting the game does however. Most of the times you should promote asap as typically the more advanced classes have better growths, unless you're sniping for mastery class skills like death blow from Brigand, darting blow from pegasus knight and etc. Beware that land horse classes have negative speed growth and bow knight has terrible growth modifiers. Still Bow Knight is a really good class.

More its the shortest and has the fewest cutscenes. Church is probably worse since it's worse Golden Deer.

Miklan wasn't kicked out for not having a crest - he lost his inheritance. He was kicked out for being an abusive ass.
Also - Mercedes was kicked out of her noble house in the empire for having the wrong crest and Dorothea wasn't acknowledged by her noble family because she didn't have a crest.

The Empire is the biggest of the three factions, having more Nobles than most isn't that surprising. They may have a Noble class system, but the Imperial Nobility does not implement a membership system that bars inheritance, simply because one is not Crest-bearer as it is in the Kingdoms, where Slyvain's brother and Dimitri's uncle faced such discrimination. Hubert and Caspar are both Crestless Nobles, but Caspar mentions he isn't the leader of his House because he's simply the second son and is still part of the nobility, while Hubert is still the heir to his house.
