DQ11 is the most boring and predictable jrpg i have ever played. On top of that the music sucks (orchestral or not). There is like 10 tracks in the whole game and every single one of them is making my ears bleed.
This ost is torture in audio form and i have no idea how anyone can defend it.

Just play it for like an hour at the time before going to bed. It's a cosy game, should be enjoyed in a cosy almost bedtime setting. I've played it like that over the course of a few weeks and it's been one of the better gaming experiences I've had in a while.
