How? You're monitor is 60hz so you can literally watch youtube videos at 60fps

Search 120 fps video on YouTube idiot

HIGHER THAN

oh my bad, i'm stupid sorry

240hz sony OLED looks like a morphing painting it's eerie.

I don't have a monitor that sees past 60hz and can't afford those beastly 144hz or 240hz ones

1080p and 60hz is enough.
Anyone who shills 4K or 144hz/240hz fell for the meme.

i have a 144hz monitor and it's pretty good but honestly the difference in price between 144hz and 60hz isn't justified. i only have it because i play fps games competitively, if you're not an esports fag there's not much of a reason to use one, 60hz is fine for 99% of the things you're going to do on a pc

I like having a 144hz monitor, but there are so many caveats to it:
>A lot of older PC games go 2x as fast on 144hz
>Emulation @ 144hz is also a no go
>You need much beefier hardware for newer games to run at 144hz with good graphics
When it works though, it looks very smooth.

This pretty much. My local netcafe has 144hz monitors but it's not really worth it unless you play counter strike or really competitively. I would rather have more nice effects or higher resolution at 60 fps than 60+ fps.

You hardly will care when it comes to games. But it's a MAJOR difference when it comes to desktop usage.

4k is really great for games with small details, such as 4x, simulation, building and management games.

4k is a meme
higher refresh rate is not

higher refresh rates aren't a meme, stop misinforming people.

mfw my eyes are stuck at 25 fps

I want to try it but I don't think it really matters for the games I typically play. Fighters are all strict 60 fps. Quake in 144hz would probably be worth trying I guess, but I'm not about to buy a monitor for a genre I rarely play.
Would Starcraft at 144 even look that impressive? I would assume that 60 is probably enough for RTS.

4k secondary for those who have workstations
144hz for videogames
240hz is meme

>overclock monitor to 75 hz
comfy

4k will be the standard in a few years. 1440p will end up like 1600x1090.

*1600x900

>being so zoomer you haven't seen a CRT

Unlikely. Maybe standard for hardcore gaming enthusiasts. But it won't be like the 720/1080 revolution. Especially with streaming companies, both video and game streaming services, will use lower resolution to save bandwidth.
HD Blu-rays are barely taking off because for most people it isn't worth it when 1080p looks clear enough.

Honestly, I'm still perfectly content with 720p 30fps and modern consoles blow me away when they look even crisper or run smoother.

In terms of gaming both Sony and Microsoft will be pushing 4k hard with the next console generation, so we'll see

I have a 60hz and 144hz monitor side by side and the difference is obvious just moving shit on the desktop. you can take that pipe and shove it up your ass.

Seems unlikely since both will try to shill PSNow and Game Pass. Since it milks way more money than charging $60 a pop.
I don't doubt they will support it enough for the gimmick, but nothing beyond leading people on.
Sony created HD Blu-ray and didn't even put a player in the PS4 Pro for it. They honestly don't care and will do the bare minimum to appease people who don't know better.

This but unironically.

The human eye can't see past 12fps anyway, idiot

144cope

Dude, I was a consolefag for my entire life until a month ago when I built my first computer. I got a 144Hz monitor and difference between that and 60Hz is fucking mind-blowing. I can never go back to 60Hz in my life.

Kill yourself wojack faggot

Based

Can 144hz monitors also run at 120hz? I want 24fps, 30 fps, and 60 fps content to be displayed perfectly.

>americans have to leave notes asking you to not break their windows because they kill dogs with their own retardation
what did mutts mean by this?

Yes, you can go down just not up.

buy a 1440p monitor instead of wasting money on 144hz gimmick

bigger monitor has a way better effect on enjoyment without any of the drawbacks of 144hz. 2k monitor is an affordable middleground before 4k.

Can't save up for one? They're honestly not that expensive.

Very common for people to leave dogs or even babies in a hot vehicle.
If the police or a stranger sees it, there is a chance they will break the window to save the animal/baby's life.
Sadly a lot of pets and children die because of "oh I will only be inside for 5 minutes" type of shitty parents.

our eyes cant see more than 2 frames

>still using some shitty 1440x900 monitor i bought on sale almost 10 fucking years ago
>computer i built 5 years ago is starting to be unable to run unoptimized games, pubg was a literal slideshow and dmc5 stuttered hard in certain areas, sekiro ran 60fps everywhere though for some reason, worried code vein won't be playable
I wish somewhere tolerable would hire me so I could guiltlessly spend my savings on a non-potato and hand this thing down to my brother.

>he doesnt use 120hz and BFI in retroarch

Feels fine.

>$320

this

Higher fps always look like it's being fast forwarded to me.

>60 fps
I wish

Seriously I am grateful for even 30+ fps
