how the fuck can the Genesis sound like this? Even Sonic music has that annoying Genesis-tone to it.
Yuzo my dude. Yuzo is the reason the MD sounded like this.
come on the Sonic music was awesome youtube.com
The "Genesis-tone" is awesome too.

This theme gets me every time. Who actually listened to that and approved it to be in the game.
It was a simpler time. I used to let this game idle on the menu just to listen to this:

Game isn't actually that bad and the soundtrack is killer.
youtube.com
Masterpiece.
Streets of Rage 3 has the best OST of the series.
You could not be more wrong.
I honestly like the first game's ost better.
ironically i kinda agree, since im always been into underground techno and stuff

90s techno are mental
That I will accept.
Are you serious? Most of the SOR3 soundtrack is just incoherent noise.
also he composed one of my favourite games, story of thor/beyond oasis, such a great soundtrack
I still think this track is the most underrated in the entire Megadrive library.

Eternal Champions! My fuckin nigga. Shadow and Jetta are underrated og gaming waifus.

This was my favourite back in the day. Reminds me of the Exorcist and gives a creepy haunting vibe to the stage.

Yuzo Koshiro really knew how to get the most out of that shitty Genesis sound chip.
>shitty Genesis sound chip
I'm changing the subject now; Streets of Rage 4
Are you guys excited and what do you think about the shown game(play) so far? Also, OST seems to be pretty good:
Ahhh good memories my man. I still call people simpleton to this day and it's all because of that game.
youtube.com
My dudes Yuzo Koshiro can do no wrong: Beyond Oasis, ActRaiser, Streets of Rage series, Revenge of Shinobi and Castlevania POR.
I'm keeping an open mind. At the very least, the OST is going to be great.
I don't know about best but it definitely had some really good songs.
Looks better than Battletoads anyway. I'm just not that into beat-em-ups anymore.
I think visually it looks pretty damn cool, like Streets of Rage meets Triplets of Bellevue. Glad they went with a new style instead of pixel ala Girls of Ransom City. Soundtrack is top notch too.
He composed all of his Genesis music (And most of his music in general) on the NEC PC-88 which was later brought to the Genesis by someone else.
Except Streets of Rage 3, which he composed for the Genesis.
OP here. Soundtrack is good and sounds promising but leaves a lot to be desired. Will have to wait until it drops to get the full context so I'll reserve my opinion 'til then.
I'm glad Axel and Blaze are back and I like their new designs. They're over ten years older so it makes sense.
Not a fan of Cherry Hunter. Don't like the name or that she uses a guitar. Interrupting the music to play the sound of her special moves is gonna get really fucking annoying. She's never gonna get picked.
I'm just glad Shiva is back and we better be able to play as him. Even having him as an unlockable character is fine with me.
Overall I am hyped that this is finally happening after 25 years. My childhood is coming back.
the Genesis soundchip is so fucking bad Konami changed the name and even the story scenes of Turtles In Time to try and pretend it was a different game out of shame for how bad the music was compared to SNES
>Revenge of Shinobi
Thanks for the reminder, user.
youtube.com
>This is what SNESfags actually believe
Embarrassing.
>Cherry is literally my GF
we're gonna have fun playing this game
One of the only few good tracks on the soundtrack.
youtube.com
>can't play this game without thinking of Boy Band Catalina
thanks Synchtube
No, literally fuck you. I actually really like experimental and avant garde music, Evergrace and Forever Kingdom are among my favorite video game soundtracks, but fuck Streets of Rage 3.
Literally fucking randomly generated music, randomly generated on the fucking Genesis soundchip at that. Yuzo Koshiro must have lost his damn mind.
Well, I guess we'll have to exchange friend codes, then. Assuming you're playing on the Switch.
I'm glad to see positive responses.
>There are Yuzo Koshiro fans who haven't listened to his FM versions of his Etrian Odyssey soundtracks
youtube.com
Blame Motohiro on that one. He had a bigger role over the 3rd's soundtrack and he introduced Yuzo to the much harder "experimental" stuff.
I still think Moto is a damn good composer but I think he just went a bit too far with the experimental thing for SOR3.
The most unforgivable thing was they changed the player select music. How could they replace such a memorable catchy track with complete ear rape?
>tfw no FM versions for EOIV

For me, it's Maximum Tune. The best Yuzo music
Based
Streets of Rage 2 credits music is pure nostalgia. A reward for cleaning the scum off the streets

Streets of Rage 1 was kino too.
Moon Beach - youtube.com
being particular fave.
youtube.com
some amiga games had such great music
Shadow Dancer had a good ending theme too.
youtube.com
It's a forgotten, underrated game and a personal fave that also has a pretty good soundtrack.
youtube.com
Expander still blows my fucking mind how they got that out of Sega's FM chip.
Game bad.
OST good.
