What is the best 2D platformer ever made?

N++ would be better if the level pacing was a little bit more tight. There are just too many "jump around and collect the dots in the different parts of the maze" levels.

this is one of the best and most impactful kind of "raw" 2D platformers and had a big influence on me as a kid so I want to counter my bias and say "no," but all my better examples are more developed genres like megaman x/z/zx or metroidvanias

The one you posted and the rest of the series. Big fan of Cloudbuilt, Ninja Five-O, Super Cloudbuilt, Dustforce and Megaman Zero

It's been years since I've heard about this. Is based Uli still working on it?

I'm assuming he'll never complete it due to the powerful autismo.
