Modern Final Fantasy characters are designed with aesthetic in mind, so if they want an Asian character with big eyes, or a black character with smaller lips, then that’s what’s gonna happen.

I like the left but it reminds me of an advance wars game. It wouldn't fit a modern Final Fantasy game unless they were specifically going for a throwback style.
