the ordering is the fundamental thing that stopped me from ever using r*ddit. On old-style forums, posts are chronological. On imageboards, posts are chronological. It makes the most sense fundamentally. But then you have reddit where it's this convoluted mishmash of branching subtopics where you can't relate context from one sub-branch to another because they're cordoned off. Did this one happen right after the OP? Was it a week later? Make sure to check the time/date of every post and branch to figure it out! And don't even get me started on auto-hiding posts or certain sub-branches not being fully visible unless you travel to a separate link for that. It's all just a mess.
...and then there's the mobile site. Sweet jesus, I dread every time I'm searching for something on my phone and I end up having to look at a reddit mobile thread. Every fucking page, the annoying popup asking you to use their mobile app, and you can't even disable it or click past it unless disabling your adblocking. And it's formatted like ass so you're literally reading lines of text one letter at a time.
