PCfag here, should i just bite the bullet and buy switch? Is switch + pc the official best combo or should i invest in ps4?

Pc and Switch, Sony and first party is one big pile of the same shit

PC/Switch/PS4 mustard race reporting in

Switch is great when a first party comes out. Unless Im in a plane its gathering dust.

Switch + PC and wait for the PS5. Switch exclusives are fun instead of cinematic walking simulators.

Unless you care for Naughty Dog's games, PS4 is basically the BloodBorne machine. Go with Switch + PC.

Describe your experience with each system.

The Switch is awesome dude

Attached: Switch Recommendations.png (750x1350, 2.04M)

Oh yeah, I can already see how fruitful this thread is going to be. You know what an actual adult would've done? Looked at the list of games and decided for himself. You are basically asking nintendo and sony shitposters to fight against each other for your entertainment.

Is this the typical case of an American getting bored because he hasn't spent much money in a while?

just wait a year and get a ps5, dummy

i have a pc and a switch. the switch is good for nintendo games or playing with family and friends. i have a steam link but it can be a hassle to get everything going compared to the switch that always works. it's also nice to be able to take it places like my in-laws house.

the downside to the switch is that i don't buy as many games because they are too expensive.

If you want to have fun but smell go for Switch, if you want to be cool and annoying and become depressed go for PS

Do you honestly come to Yea Forums for anything fruitful? Fuck off pretentious prick. You knew exactly what this thread was going to be when you clicked on it, and yet here you are, wasting your time like the rest of us.

Also, yes OP, Switch and PC combo is great. I have had zero regrets. My last Nintendo console was a GameCube, too.

OP here
First: That's true, that was part of my plan.
Second: I am lazy and would like to hear opinions of fellow anons that actually used both systems and their experience with it.

I also might add that i am huge weeb and would like to play some exclusive JRPGs.

If you already have PC the only reason to get PS4 or Xbox1 is because your friends also have that and you want to play online with them

Based honest and shameless OP.

Switch is the new king of JRPG since the new censor laws of Sony

PS4 has Persona but Switch is going to have SMT, if you care for Atlus stuff.

>i am huge weeb and would like to play some exclusive JRPGs.
Thread ignored

What JRPGs on switch would you recommend?

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (and 1 remake)

Except you posted in it...

Looks interesting, thanks user. Will look into it, i am also interested in new pokemans game, mc looks cute!

None, I avoid them at all cost myself.

As someone who owns a PC, PS4 and Switch, I'd recommend the PS4.
But, like always, it depends on what exclusives you're interested in. Switch will probably always have a lesser version of a multi-plat game, but if its exclusives are interesting enough for you, then get a Switch.

I'd say if you waited this long for a PS4 you might as well wait for the PS5. It's a little over year away, confirmed backwards compatible with PS4, and since it'll have an SSD it'll fix up the horrible loading time problems a lot of PS4 games have.

Switch is objectively a garbage console, Nintendo makes trash. You'll have to buy 3rd party peripherals to make it feel right. That being said, it has far more exclusives worth playing than PS4.

why are you posting a movie screencap to a picture about video games?

Get a Switch now and wait until PS5 which will be backwards compatible.

can someone explain what’s with the new boxes?

Switch sucks dick. No good games and the hardware is garbage.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions is getting a Switch release and is worth looking into if you're a massive weeb.

Buy switch, install OpenRCT on it through your PC and you are set for life.

But Sekiro and Arkham Knight are multiplats and better off on PC.

I own and play all three but...PS4 is only good until you play the 5-6 top-tier titles it has. Switch has double the amount of good first-party games with more to come. Plus it's portable.

PC: About 2000 ameribucks, but I got a 1080 and an i7-7700k when it the 1080 ti was the best thing out and the proc was the best. But I love my PC, I got a 2K display included in the original 2000 for the build. I program on it and play vidya, so its the best of both worlds.

Switch: My favorite console/portable partially because I'm a nintendo fanboy at heart, despite always owning every gen's consoles except PS2. Love the variety of games, and the number of ports that I couldn't otherwise play portably.

PS4: Literally only used for Hulu/Vue anymore. More of an expensive roku at this point.

Still not as good looking as Crysis, a soon to be 15 year old game

Switch for comfy.
PC for best experience and strategies and MMOs.
PS4 for a few worthy exclusives (not Bloodborne it's shit).

Attached: Consider the following.jpg (261x193, 9K)

>Needing violent imagery to have fun
Are you a sociopath?

PC + switch is by far the best option. I am currently flooded by games on both systems. The only thing interesting on ps4 is bloodborne. Definitely a bad investment.

Not too much point to getting a PS4 if you already have a PC. The only worthwhile games are Gravity Rush 2 (+ 1 if you don't have a vita), Persona 5, and Bloodborne. If you like JRPGs though you should consider getting a 3ds
>Super easy to hack
>Tons of JRPGS (SMT, Etrian odyssey, Pokemon if you are a braindead moron, etc.)
>Portable
>Backwards comparable with the DS, whic has it's own amazing library
Switch is a good choice as well, vita is an ok one

That's Ghost of Tsushima, not Sekiro

Crysis has been surpassed many times over. Go replay it, it doesn't look as good as you remember it to.

honestly, owning both a ps4 and a switch is a great thing. i have a pc as well but it's rather outdated at this point and i don't feel like spending money on upgrading it cause i also make music and gear/synth modules are my priority at this point

No, switch+PC is a meme
t. Fell for it and now have a $300 paperweight

If you have to get one get the switch, the better play is to get neither though

why would you even get a ps4 in 2019? just get the switch if you want to play its games

I have a PS4 + Switch. The Switch is great for portable play. Playing Fire Emblem or BoTW are comfy as fuck. But I mean the PS4 has a better library, since Mario, FE, and BoTW are the only three games worth it for the Switch while the PS4 has Bloodborne, Spiderman, Persona, etc. I'd grab a Switch now and wait for the PS5 in a year or so.

all already went wrong by beeing a PC fag in 2019. PS4 is the main gaming device for non trannies

Get out of here shitter.

i know it's a meme but mario rabbids is actually way too decent for it's own good as well

That's exactly why I made this thread

Too late to get a PS4, best to wait for a PS5 to either get that or a PS4 with a pretty good price reduction, not worth it to pay the full asking price for a system and its games at the moment.
Go with the switch.

Get a Switch over a PS4
PS4 is too underpowered if you have a decent gaming PC

I might buy it for Trails of cold steel 3, i don't think there are other games worth mentioning on ps4, maybe death stranding but we'll see.

Fire Emblem Three Houses is one of the very best games of the entire franchise. Give it a try.

Octopath Traveler and the Mana Collection are really cool too, though neither are exclusive to the Switch. But you don't really lose out on anything by playing them on the Switch anyway. Getting them on PC is almost kind of a waste.

Speaking of RPGs though. Play One Way Heroics+ and Breath of Fire 4. Both for PC. Not really a console recommendation but they're extremely cool games.

But the whole game is available on Switch and PC

Timed exclusive, tick tock.

Switch is good and better for the longterm
You might as well wait for the PS5 since it'll likely be backwards compatible

look at all those sequels/ports/not new ips

This retarded notion only acknowledges that one is never enough and is only used by Nintendo apologists. Everyone else just recognizes that everything less than idort is inferior

4 of those are multiplats and the other is the worst game Platinum has put out in recent memory, and I say this as a Switch owner

I could see doing so if you don't want to use Windows.

I just like the idea of playing in your bed or while taking a shit, you won't grab your ps4 into the toilet, and for comfy gaming you have your PC. Also there is no pokemans on ps4.

Get a Switch. Ps4 doesn't fit with a pc

Switch is an actual console.
PS4 is just a Shit tier laptop you’ll use a dozen times then not again for months

RDR1 was better

When else would you buy a console? When it's at its most expensive and has the smallest library possible?

That capture me pretty much perfectly
Double on the Roku part
I made my roommates old HD tv a smart TV and he literally never turned on his PS4 after that.

The PS4 only has 1 or 2 worthwhile exclusives, I say if you really really but REALLY LOVE Nintendo exclusives then get a Switch. Personally I would just stay with my PC. Having two systems to play videogames on sounds retarded

Attached: 1514824942414.png (325x314, 262K)

The combat in both of those games is better even if the rest is nothing to speak of

Kill yourself
I brought a PS4 an it’s a shit tier dust collector

PS4 will introduce far more redundancy into your system, both catalog-wise and form factor-wise. Switch has a ton of properly unique exclusives and is portable unlike your PC.

Then PC plus PS2 is right up your valley.

Ah yes, I too enjoy a game about literally nothing.

People seem to be really excited about Animal Crossing.

buy a ps4. switch is a toy for young children with small hands

I just got a used unpatched Switch after being PC only for years. I always thought the Switch was a bad value, but it's totally worth it if you hack it.

I mainly use it to play Smash and Mario Kart with my roommates though, so it might not be worth it unless you have people to play with.

>Switch is an actual console.
Sitch is nothing more but overprice tablet made by company known for rehashes.

Attached: sitch predecessor.png (1016x553, 545K)

When?

I have Switch + PC. But Switch is exclusively for Nintendo games (Mario Maker 2 and Tetris99, mainly, which are the games I'm most interested in). All cross-platform games I bought on Switch are bad versions that run very poorly. And more expensive than the better versions on Steam.

Animal Crossing is a game for actual real literal girls, who, surprise, also use internets to voice their opinion. Most of them are too squeamish for RDR.

How angry do you have to be about your parents not having enough money to buy you a video game that you have that image on hand and use the same senseless pun in your frothing reply

The problem with Switch is it has 3rd parties constantly trying to scam Switch owners with blatant ripoffs and you need to watch out for that.

Capcom is releasing this on Switch tomorrow. For 20 dollars.

Attached: Chaotic Capcom.png (300x287, 166K)

If you like Japanese games you should yeah.

You can just emulate P5 PS3 version

Why would you buy a PS4 now when the next console is gonna be coming out like next year

Attached: 1544120074010.jpg (450x360, 14K)

If you are smart you will either upgrade your PC or get a switch
Do not get a PS4 its at the end of its life and it barely got 3 games worth playing looking back
What a piece of shit console

when they stop shoving they're thumb up their ass

This is gonna be me soon. Granted the PS4 is seeing less and less use, just keep it for shit I don't want to repurchase/pirate on PC and GT Spork at this point.

Yeah. It's got enough games at this point to make the purchase worth it plus now it's got that new revision with a better battery life. Go for it.

Switch has no games except ports. Maybe BOTW 2 will be good.

I’m also a Pc fag and just got my switch today. Absolutely loving it. Such a unique and interesting device.

basically this, except im looking at the switch in my amazon cart now
What games are worth it for a first time purchase? I have Smash bros and Breath of the wild right now
Looking at Pokemon SnS and Luigis mansion 3 atm

What games are truly great on the switch in the docked mode and what games shine much better in the mobile mode? not really looking at capability, just what would be fun to play in bed rather then at my desk

Best one would be ps4+switch but that’s if you are huge gamer or something. Considering that i need a pc, i just have a switch+pc and i’ve always been a pc fag, tho liked ps1 and ps2 a lot. Don’t really care for ps4 exclusives except for death stranding maybe cause it was hyped as fuck. I rarely play pc, some old game, some bigger title like dmc 5% or resident evil 2 or some indies, pther stuff on switch

Switch is my RPG machine at this point. So much so that I'm contemplating buying the Lite model and selling my og one, because the only shit I bother playing docked is Smash, Splatoon and Astral Chain. It's a underpowered piece of shit, but playing games like 3H on it cozy in bed is fucking great.

Attached: bueno.jpg (580x625, 96K)

I have a PS4 and PC. I'm considering a Switch, but I'm still on the fence. There's a handful of games I would play on it but not enough to go through with a purchase. Fire Emblem, Smash, and Mario Odyssey are what I'm most interested in.

Most indie games are better handheld, botw as well after a while. You're buying when there's a huge back catalog to play so there's really too much to mention unless you have specific tastes.

Only rent a PS4 just to play the exclusives then just shit it out back where it belongs before it starts catching dust. Switch is the only current gen console that's unique and justifies the purchase despite it not having much performance or games, since the same applies to the PS4 and Xbox anyways.

Unless there is something that you desperately need to play on PS4/Xbox or you're a cancerous mobile gamer then the Switch+PC is the best combo.

Attached: IMG_0505.jpg (2016x1512, 1.31M)

Where did you get that Pro controller? Looks pretty baller.

Just a stock Pro Controller with a Dbrand skin, there was a sale so I decided to try it out. The plastic for the PC is fucking garbage that gets shiny after one use.

Labirynth of Refrain (and its upcoming sequel), Xenoblade 2, Omega Labyrinth Z, Ys VIII

Grandia 2. The first one is alright as well.

i have a pc, wiiu and 2dxl. Should i get a switch. what am i missing out on?

This, I barely use my PS4 like a bunch of others mentioned. I'm usually gaming on my PC and Switch.

I already have a PC and PS4.
I barely play either of them but I've been itching to buy a Switch.
Only thing holding me back is the rumors of an upgraded Switch coming out within a year.

Attached: sort of poor college student 12.jpg (3999x3238, 3.48M)

upgraded switch already came out
a pro version is not happening

Buy a Switch only if there's a game you want, so far some of the games are really good if you don't care for graphics.

>that
>sort of poor
Pull you head out of your ass, youre not remotely poor unless you bought all that on credit.

How do you know a pro version is not happening?

but isn't pc basically a xbone minus the bad shit

Anyone who can't afford a house is poor.
Average income in California is over 72k a year.

For Switch all the exclusives/indie games/ports of games I never had the chance to play in the past, that I also want on the go (FF games and various JRPGS and Action RPGS, Dragons Dogma, Diablo 3 and many more that are easy setup for couch coop, all the Mario and Zelda and Mario kart and Splatoon and Smash obiviosuly and indies you can imagine, even Dragon Ball FighterZ portable fuck yea)
PC for the rest to pirate all that shit I dont wanna pay for
.....
And even then I still want a PS4 for Bloodborne, Spiderman, God of War... maybe gonna get one stolen and cheap from craiglist

Right now they've launched a new model with a longer battery life so yeah, you're right on time for it, Switch has a lot of exclusives, vastly more than the PS4, so you're better off with a PC and a Switch.

>Right now they've launched a new model with a longer battery life
That you can't play in docked mode. I'd pass on that personally, but yeah the overall system is the bee's tits.

Why? The consoles are fucking trash this gen. None of them are worth picking up.

I would say get a switch if you don't have a pc. Because of the vast amounts of indie titles on there. 1st parties are great.

Same.

Honestly, both are worth it, but if you really can only afford one, it's purely taste-based for the exclusives and console experience.
If you like games that sort of are following the usual progression of game innovation like all past gens, then Switch is for you. Games like Super Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Luigi's Mansion 3, Astral Chain, etc. all take old styles of play and add new innovations and ideas in to make them feel fresh. Meanwhile, the PS4 has some wacky shit that is completely new, and it's such an oddball of a console. Stuff like Gravity Rush 2, Death Stranding, Dreams, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, etc. do extremely unique and cutting-edge things in genres that may or may not have existed before this gen, for better and for worse.
I personally prefer the Switch games, but I completely understand a preference for PS4 games.
Just don't buy an Xbox One.
