why are commando and plant the only good characters left after the health regen nerf?

Current prismatic seed is actually great for getting mercenary:ethereal. Here's how I did it:
1. Grab all the white items on the first stage (2 broaches there: first near spawn, second behind the gate). Broaches will keep up you over 100% and gasoline will do the rest.
2. Upon arriving on the second stage immediately head to the tunnel on your right and print every item you have into broaches.
3. Grab a free BFG inside one of the containers.
4. Save up to buy the big drone near tp (should be around 500-600$).
5. Get some barrier going and pop the tp, then proceed to BFG the teapot, but keep your distance and let the drone handle it.
6. Stay alive and well until drone does the job, then pop the tp again.
7. ???????
8. PROFIT!

Plasma bolt seems worthless if you can direct hit your fire balls. Might be interesting with a bunch of proc items
Spear would be cool if it had the instakill threshold work on bosses. It should be a bit quicker and not expand your crosshair while charging it
Ion surge is great, it just takes away alot of damage potential. Slows down getting through the first cycle quickly a tiny bit, but it's worth it, especially if you get fucked by rng and never drop and feathers

The game is great, and is only getting better. My only "early access" complaint is that the updates are spaced too far apart. I appreciate that they are typically large updates to justify the time between them, but I would prefer more frequent updates with less content. Actually the animations sort of make sense. Her actual arms are holding handles on the mechanical forearms, so her making a punching motion with her real arm would in fact lead to more swipey motion from the mechanical one. The animation is fucked however, and requires fixing. Currently her arms dislocate all over the place before popping back when she's in neutral.

It's pretty obvious what needs to be done for it. The hard part about it is getting good RNG, good RNG on what the current trial is, and good RNG on the spawn of enemies so you don't get a fuck load of wisps that will aimbot you as soon as they can.

They need to bring back the old health regen system for both Rainstorm and Monsoon, and then up the regen even further for Drizzle. It's not like having a higher rate of base regen makes the game that much easier, it just allows you to spend more time fighting and less time running/kiting (read: it lets you have more FUN)

So is this health regen "fix" good or bad? Seems like the popular recourse is just stacking up on health items early on and gimping your damage until you feel comfortable enough to start stacking other items. And even then, on Monsoon, you're bombarded with a shit load of enemies and Elites become more common, so your survivability is even worse.

The great thing about games you played before is that they don't go anywhere. You can still play them any time. If you want to play risk of rain, play it. If you want more content for it, there's a nice modding community, including a mod that adds the RoR2 characters to RoR1.

Except maybe her new m1, which is much worse when losing the DoT means you're far less likely to one-shot wisps with it, but that's a problem with wisps being too common and their small but constant damage being a problem with the slower health regen, not a problem with Artificer.

The fire trails visuals are secretly an entity that loosely trails your character while egg is active. Your character model is hidden but allowed to freely float around. When you teleport or die, your character object is removed or disabled and the trail, lacking a target to follow, drifts off into the sunset.
