every single part that wasnt playing chris

"Hey what if we made the game look worse than RE2?"

I thought it was pretty good

the weapons felt awful and the backgrounds were worse than silent hill 1's
i have no idea how they managed to do both

It's a chore to play and it's too long.

The only thing wrong with it is Steve. Make Steve likable, or get rid of him entirely, and it's a solid Resident Evil. He makes it worse in every single way.

the real RE4

Its not well ballanced. You have to be very careful in your playthrough or in later segments you might have to little ammo or healing items. Claire and chris sharing a chest can also cause one to fuck the other over. Also most RE games have the high score time at around 3 hours. The high score in CV is 8 hours. I had to restart the game twice before I beat it. Once because monster steve will land 2 hits on you no matter what, and so you need a certain amount of healing, and once I was screwed on the chris vs alexia fight because of ammo. Its just too big.

you mean 3

Their good ideas for CV ran out at "polygons!!!" leading to weird shit like Alfred and leading to degenerate gameplay like a boss that cant hurt you unless you choose to stand in its pool of water

This. I had to git gud with the knife to defeat the final boss. I’ve never had trouble managing ammo in any of the other games. Just CV.

What version should I play? The HD one on last gen consoles or the emulated PS2 version on piss4?

Steve

Half the soul is lost (that is why the seed lies dormant).

They completely changed Claire. People bitch about her REmake 2 version but CV was an even bigger shift, though at least she had the same voice.
Also they made everything so cheesy and so obviously ripping off scenes from the Matrix.
The characters and settings were all lame too

Except 3 is actually good and improves on previous titles in new ways.

>Except 3 is actually good and improves on previous titles in new ways.
It doesn't though?

"You cross-dressing freak!"

It was an admirable (lol) attempt to make "RE except with realtime environments" but had some nuttyness with inventory management as a sort of pseudo-challenge as
have mentioned
>please deposit any metallic items into the security box

Claire Redpilled

What are you on about? Claire had the same personality in both 2 and CV. She was always kinda a bitch with a soft side.

nothing, retard

She wasn't a bitch in RE2, she was just bossy and focused on her objective

Sounds like a low key bitch to me.

I like this game a lot. it's like everything in the prequels ramped up, so if you like those (the challenge, variety) you should like what CV throws at you and has you run through.

The difficulty (except Chris' chest and Steve boss) just seem intrinsic to the difficulty that survival horror relies on. I had the same experience as you, but the fact that this can be easily avoided with the same strategies that the older games require shows that your points are not exclusive to CV and are well established characteristics of the series.

This. It's not as easy to pick up and play as 2 and 3. You gotta be extremely careful for the first hour or so.

RE2 and RECV had the same writer though (the same man also wrote RE0 and the Gun Survivor games).

It was a quickie Dreamcast-exclusive that Capcom came up with at the last minute to make up for the fact that they canceled the Saturn port of RE2, which is why it's not even a numbered sequel (even though by all accounts, it should had been RE4). With that said, it was pretty experimental game, seeing how it was the first RE game on a 6th gen console and it used real 3D environments and expressive character models.

this really obviously not true
