Wrong. Games that let you choose a character always have that decision reflected in the game's dialogue at the very least. Higher budget games have separate audio lines specifically for it. This is a high budget game. It would be just as possible to have different dialogue and audio for male or female and simply allow players to choose which pronoun they would prefer to be referred by. But in order to avoid the scrutiny of only having two choices instead of 20 they're just removing the feature altogether.
